How do i set up the internet with the cable wire for ps3

May be...
  • i have a wire for the internet to connect to my computer and i need to know the steps to set it up
  • OK. First, you need an Ethernet cord. If you have a router, take out the CPU plug and put in the PS3. If you have multi-slots in ur router, put it in another one. So that someone can be on the CPU while u r on the PS3. But if this is done, the PS3 may lag. So After everything is connected, go to Network Configuration. Then u will be asked Wired or wireless. Select wired. Then it will say Easy, or Custom. Select EASY. Then after that it will ask you a bunch of other questions. Whatever one the PS3 thingy is on, which ever one is selected, pick the one. Then ur done! But if u don't have a router, take out ur CPU ethernet cable, and put in your PS3 cable.

p.s.: Don't forget to pick a best answer!
  • all u need to do is take ur ethernet cord out of the computer(its the thick cord that looks like a phone line cord) and connect it to the back of ur ps3 and make sure its in ur modem and then turn ur ps3 on and goto network settings and set up ur connection. that simple.
  • Take the internet cord out of the computer and plug it into the PS3. If you want the computer and the PS3 to be able to use the internet at the same time, then you will need to buy a router.
  • why spend money on a playstation 3 when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you one - at no charge!
