Different game HDD storage?

May be...
  • Why do some games, such as Metal Gear Solid 4, take up over 4gb of space on my PS3 hard drive, yet other games, such as Call of Duty 4, take up only 10mb? I know Call of Duty has a much shorter offline story mode, but even so, why would MGS4 take up over 400x as much space? Those are just examples - Virtua Tennis 3 only takes up less than 2734kb!!!
  • it all depends on the contents and features of the game. For one, MGS4 has so many long cut scenes (the movie parts) and COD4 have very short ones only. The "movie" parts take a lot of space. The other reason is the graphics quality. Higher graphic resolution takes up a lot of HD space also. This is the main reason for having a hard drive in PS3 console.
  • Simply put, that's how they decided. They decided it would be better to put 4GB of data into the HDD to lessen the load times. That's just it. No other stuff is needed explanation.
  • the graphics and physics engine of metal gear solid is outstanding and look how long it took to make

    bigger worlds in games
