I have a question about GTA IV trophies?

May be...

I know that the GTA IV Trophy Support Patch is coming this Monday. When I get my first trophy, do I have to save my game? Or does the trophy automatically saves in my Trophy Collection List? If I do save, and I delete my save, does the trophy disappear from my list? I want to save some hard drive space. And if I delete my save game, and load my old saved game, will I still be able to do the mission and get my trophy?
