I just installed it, and I can't play ps2 games on it. Am I not clear about the ps2 system data I don't really understand what it's for. I am guessing playback on the ps3 for ps2 game data (which should be game discs?)
  • The PS2 System Data is the partial PS2 Emulator for the PS3. Unfortunately, it is only useful on the older 80GB models that had 4 USB ports and came bundled with either Motorstorm or Metal Gear Solid 4 (and the 60GB PAL region PS3s). THese had part of a PS2 in them, but not all of it, and used the emulator for that part they were missing.

The 20GB and non-PAL 60GB models had a whole PS2 in them, so they didn't need this.

The 40GB, newer 2 USB 80GB, and 160GB don't have any PS2 hardware in them at all, so the emulator doesn't replace all that is missing.
