How do I delete my Playstation Network Account?

May be...

I have a problem, I can't log into the platstation store or network to make downloads. Yet I can go log onto websites with the browser and see ESPN or Yahoo on my PS3. The connection is fine but whenever I test the connection it fails. My guess why my ID log in doesn't work is because I deleted the email account I registered it under, but I'm not sure. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!
