why do i need the 1.50 kernel add-on for a cfw psp phat???

Actually you must aready have it. turn your psp off then holf the r trigger.

You should be in recovery mode go to configuration

then ongame folder homebrew it should be (currently 5.XX kernal)



this has the new features plus the features the 1.xx had

because the newer versions of the firmware have security that won't allow you to install the custom firmware. if you want to downgrade it you will need a pandora battery and a magic gate memory stick
