Question about Guitar Hero 4 for PS2?

I just wondered if the older wireless guitar controller (that works with 1, 2 & 3) would work for the new GH4? And how much would it cost to buy GH4 for PS2 without the controller?

It would definitely work, but the new one you can also use other things like the drums or mic, so buy the set that comes with everything then you can have somebody playing all 4 instruments. And it costs 60 bucks for just the game, 70 some places, and it is probably on sale for about 55.
