Is PS3 dead in the water ?

May be...

I love my PS3. I truly think it is the best system out there. BUT Sony simply HAS NOT delivered thus far in exclusive titles. I am a huge Street Fighter Fan and I am actually seriously considering trading in my PS3 to get an Xbox 360 so that I can play with a bigger online community. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ?

How can you say not delivered with exclusive games? What, just because they don't have Halo and Gears of War? Because those are the only exclusives the 360 has that are half decent, and those are both going on the PC eventually, as we all know.



And "bigger online community?" Do you expect that every time yu go to play you're going to have a hard time finding people?



You don't need to play with 3 million people.



The PS3s 2 million online users will be just fine.

Yeah i dunno in my opionion the PS3 kinda sucked I mean component wise it is alot better than the 360 and if you have the right tv set up it blows the 360 away but I never got on just for the fact that the 360 is so huge online I dont think ps3 could ever touch it and so far I am right. They only way I would think of getting a Ps3 would be for gran turismo 4. If I were you and you can afford it get a 360 without selling it but if you have to trade it personally I would XBox live is huge

have you been asleep for the last year? there have been many great exclusives and download able content on the PSN.

and its how you define a big online community. If you mean more people playing more games online therefore there are more people to play with, well on ps3 there are always people playing games online that i play on. For example i can still find hundreds of full servers on COD4 which came out a year and a half ago. there is never a game on ps3 that has too little people playing on it. there is always people playing games online on the ps3 no matter what game it is.

Oh and patience is the key, exclusives are coming on the way if you haven't heard about Uncharted 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII: Versus, God of War 3, Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5, Prince of Persia, Metal Gear Solid 4, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2 and there are alot more exclusives.



Trading a PS3 for a 360 isn't a good choice, but it IS your choice and I suggest you think this through.



If you do get a 360, then have fun paying for your bigger online community ;)

Yes, Punisher, I i would like to pay every month to pay. Xbox Live is vastly superior to PlayStation Network. Everything is easier to navigate, send invites, etc. and in my opinion, it is way worth the $50.

Also, blu-ray is way overrated. I think I'll buy the DVD for $10+ less and get the same amount of noticeable quality (or you know, just download it off the internet, FOR FREE). If you don't have a sound system, you don't benefit much from blu-ray. Well guess what, I don't have a 1080p tv. I got my LCD back in the day, you know, when 1080p was still being worked on.



However, I digress. Unlike you, I don't think the PS3 is the best system out there, for the reason you're worried about it. It doesn't have very many exclusives, most of which it does get aren't very good (I'm looking at /you/ HAZE. :| ). That's not to say there aren't good exclusives, you know, Ultimate Ninja Storm and MGS 4 (I won't say LBP. It got very repetitive).

I still think that it has gotten itself pretty deep in. a $400 price tag is intimidating, and the removal of a lot of features is a little depressing. Unless we get a better PSN and better games, I think the PS3 is ultimately destined to fail. We can only hope that we get some good games to back up that powerful beast.



TL;DR: PS3 is a glass cannon.

No. 2009 and 2010 should see the PS3 releasing more exclusive games.
