Playstation 3 not recognizing discs?

May be...
  • I just purchased an 80 gig PS3 last week, and it has been working great. Today I put in a game and though the blue light came on acknowledging that I had inserted a game, the PS3 would not indicate a game was inserted. I tried again with another game, and another, and finally two different Blu-Ray movies, but still nothing. I have tried resetting the system and have done everything short of the long resetting process (the one that says it takes over 4 hours). Any suggestions short of having to exchange the console?
  • Call sony and get it sent in because the the disk/blue ray lense head is not reading the disk and has gone bad. Or just go back to the store if it is in the 90 day store warranty.
  • have you checked if you have an updated firmware? PS3s will perform at it's best if firmware is up to date. You need to connect it to the internet.

If yes, the try to reset it by pressing and holding down the power button for 10 sec until it beeps and resets.

If the problem still persists, then it's time for an exchange.

    cheers!
  • Maybe Ur Disc Is Copied

For Copied Discs Ur PS3 Must Have A CHIP FPR THAT
