Why won't my Rock Band mic work with Guitar Hero World Tour for PS3?

I picked up the official Rock Band Microphone (for PS3, Xbox360, and Wii) to use with Guitar Hero World Tour (on PS3). When I try to use it in the game, it says that I need to plug in a microphone. Any help?

Try checking the "accessory settings", as it may be set for another device. (This is outside of the game) Change the setting to 'microphone'. Be sure that your audio input device is set to use the USB device.
