My son asked me if cheat codes can mess up his games systems. He has Xbox360, Wii, & PS2.?

My son has passed a few of his games on his own and told me he'd like to play the games again this time using cheat codes. I'm not a gamer so I couldn't give him a answer. I know enough that "cheat codes" is nothing new, but I've heard a few ppl. say it was true. Could someone shed some light on this situation. Thanks!

For a short answer, no.

Cheat codes are embedded in games in the development process, and developers would not put cheat codes into games if it could harm the system.



Although its a bad habit to get into, using cheats cannot, will not and have not harmed your sytem!!!

Cheat Codes, however, can make the game look weird, like the other answerer already mentioned. That is because the game is technically not really supposed to have cheats, but that won't do anything to your system, or your game.

Cheat codes can not mess your system since your system is hardwear and the cheat codes are softwear most cheat codes on the systems you have pointed out are actuley set in the by the developers of the game.....

well the people say not to but that is only if u leave the cheats activated when u turn off the system but i used to play grand theft auto san andreas all the time and leave the cheats activated when i tirm it off and it never harmed my system

No, they don't ruin your systems at all. If you hack your PS3, it can get messed up. If you just use codes from a website like GameFAQS.com, nothing will happen to your systems.
