Question about a problem with my playstation 2?

May be...
  • My son is having a problem with his playstation and I thought I would ask to see if anyone out there is a wiz at game systems and could tell me what the problem might be.

My son has been using this system for about 2 years and it's never had this problem. When he goes to play a game, it will tell him that he needs a "dual shock" controller to play this game. He is using a dual shock controller...the same one he's always used, and has always worked. What could be the problem? Is there a simple way we can fix it without buying a new controller??? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Make sure the small button in the middle of the controller is turned on. If it's on, you should see a small red light under the button. If it doesn't turn on, then I think it's time for a new controller

Make sure the controller is plugged in too. Try unplugging it from the Playstation, blowing in both the system and controller, and then plug it back in again.
  • try buying a new one.. answer mine? ps2----

  • Try blowing in the slot where you put the controller in or it may be time to buy a new one.
  • try plugging it in slot 2, if it works then cool the controller is fine...if not then faulty controller.
  • its about time u got him a ps3
