My playstion 2 makes that wierd dat dat noise why? note it only happens when you start the game?

it makes that alert sound dot like a fan or something how do i get rid of it when that happens it wont read discs and if my disc is dirty or scratched how do i clean it clan with shirt doesent work what else and not just this disk it wont read but it wont read none at all even if clean.
