Can you put a PS3 disk inside a PS2 system and play the PS3 game wil its in the PS2 system?

May be...
  • I have been hearing that you can and you cant, what is the real answer?
  • Rhetorical M F'N question right? Think about it, PS3 disc are on Blue Ray, PS2 is on DVD, PS3 is more advanced you think that a older model can read some **** from the "future"? The answer is quite obvious and simple. NO YOU STUPID MUTHAFUCKA, who ever told you is WRONG!!! Thank You and if my answer get blocked or deleted I WILL be back lmao. ASnd 80GB Core, 40GB & 160GB DON'T play PS2 games. You need 20GB, either 60GB models, or older 80GB PS3 that came with Motorstorm/MGS4
  • The answer is simply..no.

The only PS3 machine compatible with PS2 games is the 80g or above. And it may require a patch from Sony to do so.

Read through the owner's manual for further information, or check the Sony website.
  • Not a chance.

All PS3 games are Blu-ray disks. The PS2 can only read CD and DVD disks. The PS2 was made back in 2000. Blu-ray wasn't invented until around 2005 or so. So the PS2 can't read PS3 games because the Blu-ray technology wasn't available when the PS2 was made.
  • No

    Think about it

is PS2 a Blu Ray player?

Did Blu ray exist when the PS2 was out?

If you can't figure out the answer to those 2 Q's

Then here's a hint: PS3's games are mostly Blu ray
  • The PS2 cannot play PS3 games. Period.

Some PS3s can play PS2 games, but none of the PS3s in stores today have this ability.
  • Will people please just think for a second about this!

Look at a DVD player. Now look at a cassette player.

Does it look like the cassette player will play the DVD?

    No!
  • Think about what you are asking.
  • Are you retarded?
  • NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO.....if you believe that, then you're a dumb ***
