Playstation 3 , which console .. ?? would i need 320gb HDD... ?
May be...
Well i know that Sony has now discontiuned the 40GB..
and the New thing is the 80GB.
well i found a 40GB Ps3 for £ 219.95
and then p+p = £14
and i want to change the HDD to 320Gb..
which will cost £ 51.49
Bringing the whole 40GB to a price of :: £285.44
And then there is the 80GB ps3
found it for : £289.99 + free game : killzone 2. .
I would be playing mostly online.. so i thought if i had 320gb i would be able to download updates and maps / games without worrying of running outa memory..
1st : would i need to add on a 320gb for the 40gb.. or / and maybe for the 80gb.. ??
2nd : which one do you think i should go for.. ??
3rd : 10 points for chosen answer.
Thank you..Excellent choice. I did the same back then. Bought a 40GB model and bought a 250 GB harddisc.
Contrary to an answerer here you do *NOT* void your warranty by replacing the harddisc. The PS3 has a small flap that you open, then unscrew a cage and replace the harddisc.
To your questions:
1. Get the 40GB model and your harddisc. This is the cheapest and best solution! There are no addons you need additionally.
2. Go for the 40 GB model and your extra harddisc.
3. That's not a question :)If you are using the PS3 for games only you will be hard pushed to use its 80GB memory unless you like downloading all the demos & film/trailer clips & keeping them on the hard disc. Even then I think it would take awhile to fill it up. I stream all my videos, photos & music from my PC so I do not store anything on PS3. Have you thought about using an external hard drive. You could then take it around your mates & plug it in thier PS3. Thats what my mate does.I think you would be fine with the 40Gb + 320Gb, but personally I don't think you need the extra 320Gb, I have a 60Gb PS3 and I have no problems memory at all. If you think you need the extra memory then go for the 40Gb it will work out cheaper and you will have more than enough memory...hope this helps!40gb would be plenty 80gb more than plenty. absolutely no need for 320gbPLAYSTATION 3 SUCKS
XBOX 360 ALL THE WAYget 80GB but killzone 2 is overrated
320GB is too much unless you want movies etc
i got a 40 gB and its ok spacexbox 360>PS3I hear that the on the 40GB people run out of memory quick, I have 80GB myself & its ok for game saves and stuff. But once I add movies, pics, and music I run low. I currently have 17GB left, which is a ok amount. But if you want to have A LOT of music & videos then I advise you get 320GB PS3. Also if you plan to install Linux as other OS, which makes your PS3 act as a PC then you might need the size. But I only say get that if you want to play emulated games on your PS3. Like PS2 emulators, since PS3 won't play PS2 games anymore, N64 games, etc.1st. if you put a new HDD in your ps3, YOU WILL VOID THE WARRANTY because you have to open the system to put it in. Not reccomended for a new machine, wait 'til your warranty is up (1year) before you put a new drive in.
2nd. Go for the 80Gb, this is plenty room to start with, unless you fill the space up with other media, video/music. If you did find yourself running low on space(not likely), you can easily transfer your save games or game updates to a USB drive wen your not needing them (for older games etc etc)
