Changing PS3 to HDMI?

May be...

Right now my PS3 is in AV COMPONENT mode. I want it to switch back to HDMI mode.



However, i can not switch it myself by using the av cords because i don't have it anymore. so how do i fix it?



I went from HDMI - AV - trying to go back to HDMI right now all i get is the black screen.



i tried the 5 second thing, but thats only for it to switch to AV, now how do i go back to HDMI..?

First and foremost, make sure you only have the HDMI plugged and and not the AV and HDMI together. Then follow these steps. I know you tried the 5 second thing, but re-read this to see if you missed out anything during that process;



1. Make sure the TV is turned on, and that it's on the right channel to accommodate the type of cables you have plugged in.

2. Hold down the power button in front so that you get a solid red light. Now, turn off the main power switch in the back.

3. With the unit off, hold down the power button in front while at the same time reaching around back & turning back ON the main power switch.

4. Don't let go in front until AFTER you hear the 2nd beep. You'll hear a "beep", followed by a 4 second delay, followed by a 2nd "beep".

Let go IMMEDIATELY after you hear that 2nd beep.

5. This will produce a picture and sound for you based on the type of cables. If you are using HDMI cables, answer "Yes" to all 3 questions it asks you.



If it works, congrats - You have your PS3 set to broadcast through HDMI!

when on AV mode, go to Settings>>>Display Settings and change output to HDMI, choose yes then select custom and check either 720p or 1080p depending on your TV. If you get a black screen even on 720p, leave everyting unchecked and run on 480p. your TV might no be full HD.

with the hdmi cable plugged in hold the power until it beeps twice, then when you turn it back on it will ask if you want to switch to hdmi or not.

On your PS3 ....



Settings and something like display settings then pick HDMI then pick automatic then click ok and **** then....
