no, they do not come free with the system. you would have to buy one separate. a new Sony 8MB memory card is $25, used at GameStop is $13. there are other brands, but I refuse to buy them. I only buy Sony brand for my PS2.

well i got one in england free with the system and it was mod chipped but in my area they are around £8 for 8 meg or get action replay for around £16
