Is sony still producing Playstation 2?

Yea, its the most played game console and it cost $99.99, its not a set date but one could guess next year or 2011. Their isn't NO Playstation4 coming out, I read a PS blog saying this is the last Play Station home entertainment system. But if you notice they are beginning to phase out PS2 by lowering price and not many games coming out for it, or commercials. They did stuff similar to Game Cube & Xbox when they where phased out, and even though PS2 came out with those game systems its competing with 360 to this day.

I am not sure about this. If they are still producing the PS2, then it will be the Slimline PS2, not the original. But Sony will probably stop making the PS2 very soon because the PS3 will be their main priority.



If Sony are still making the PS2, they are very stupid. They should use that money to have the PS2 backwards compatibility for all the PS3 consoles. The PS2 is a great console though, maybe even better than the PS3!

(i guess...) Is announced. So pretty much nearby the 8th generation of consoles is soon to be realsed. PS3 is in the 7th genenation.

A friend of mine bought one just about 2 months ago, so if it's still selling units , they might still be producing it in lower quantities.
