Will downloaded PS2 games work on PS3?

May be...
  • Hi. Say i downloaded some ps2 games off the internet and burnt them onto a dvd would they work instantly? Or would the ps3 need to be chipped to make downloaded games work? (as far as i know there is no way to chip them yet). Before anyone asks, yes, my ps3 is ps2 compatible.
  • Won't work just buy your games from a store PS2 games aren't that expensive anymore.
  • The PS3 would have to be chipped and I dunno if "chipping" would be as simple to do on a PS3 (versus the PS2). If you were signed in and Sony found out, they could permanantly ban your IP address from their servers. Might even send some "representatives" from the FBI since you are using an illegal version of the game.

Just buy the damn game. You or your parents can't possibly be that broke if you have a backward compatible PS3.
  • ps3 chipped? not a chance

better play them on a pc emulator
