What are some serious, mature RPGs that I can get for my ps3?

May be...

I love games like oblivion and fallout 3.. but the market is cornered by these anime-esque soap dramas about spiky haired teens with big sparkly eyes trying to save the world, echhh! Is there anything out there even approaching the awesomeness that Bethesda has given us?

Most RPG games are "childish" nowadays, oblivion and F3 are the only non-animeish RPGs.



Although everyone gave Valkyria Chronicles an extremely good review and I personally loved the game. Playstation the Official Magazine stated that "Just because Fallout 3 was nominated for RPG of the year, DON'T forget about Valkyria Chronicles." Yes the graphics are childlish, but the storyline is epic I must proclaim.

PEOPLE: GTA IV IS NOT AN RPG.

Anyway, i'm not sure if there is another serious one. I agree that we need more. However, I heard Bethesda(sp?) who made TES + Fallout 3 are making a F3 expansion and you can download it near the end of this month, June, and they are planning a ned Elder Scrolls game but it will only been released in 2011.

GTA is NOT an RPG, it's an Action-Adventure game(what next people want to call Zelda an RPG series). Anyway most REAL RPGs are made in Japan so you get the anime look. I'd say you might as well try GTA IV though, since in my opinion Oblivion is more an action/adventure then an RPG.

Fallout 3 is INCREDIBLE, honestly, you will love and there so much to do apart from the story, so many places to discover across the wasteland, loads of side quests, amazing game, iv spent 45 playing hours on it lol.

Well all i can think of is the old final fantasy games for ps1 and the lunar series for ps1. As all ps3 games can play ps1 games

fall out 3 is pretty awesome, its not super long, but you can waste a few weeks on it

Bioshock, GTA IV are great RPG's.

final fantasy is an rpg but i am really not a fan and have no interest in that game so i wouldn't recommend it

the only thing i can think of would be grand theft auto 4. though the driving sucks, the gun fights are realistic to the extent if your not really stratigic about where you are then you start a gun fight with cops, you'll lose. and fast. also the game is vary mature where your charicter has to deal with for the most part real life problems. also cut sceens where you get to decide how you want to kill your target. the game is a hudge step forward from the previous versions. well at least i think so. but i do agree with your on your note though, they need to realize how many adult gamers there really are and they need to make some stuff that peaks are interestes as rational human beings not kids who wana go around shooting things with rocket launchers and not dieing after being shot 100 times.
