But it doesn't matter. Didn't Mr Kojima say when mgs4 was released that it would be the last one? That he wouldn't make any more? It's done. There shouldn't be a new mgs on any platform. Not only is it a style of game better suited for older consoles, it still uses the control scheme designed when the ps1 controller had only a d-pad and no analog sticks. Even mgs4, you still couldn't change the controls to make X be select and Circle be backwards. MGS has always done that backwards, and the movement is fairly primitive considering 2-stick control has been available for 10 years now. They never even changed the problem where if you move a direction without standing up first, you crawl around instead. I can't count the times Snake got killed because the enemy went "!" and he either sprawled on the ground by accident, or tried to run but was blocked by some foot-high obstacle, or ran into a higher obstacle and accidentally started sneaking along it in plain sight of the dudes blazing away at him with ak-47's. Not only is Metal Gear Solid an ancient title, it's based on Metal Gear which goes all the way back to the '80's. It's one of the longest-running video game franchises in history.
A headline says EA and Ubisoft are concentrating on "Sports and Sequels" for most of their releases this year. Gee whiz, what a surprise. All they ever release is sequels. No good new games are ever designed because all they do is make new versions of the ones you've already played.
Sure, go on about how you love Metal Gear and how great it is... but you must have done the same when Metal Gear Solid 4 was coming, and where is it now? You've probably finished it within a week, and then what?
I liked the Metal Gear Series but enough is enough. I'm tired of seeing old-school games on the ps3. Even with ps3's hardware potential, the developers don't make anything interesting. The Playstation Eye can basically do the same kind of thing the xbox project natal does, just on a less grandiose scale. Are the games popular? nope. They're just little mini-puzzle games for $5 where you move around to tilt stuff on the screen or move colors. Microsoft will find the PN does a similar belly flop, because developers won't invest in developing anything worthy. Xbox game makers will stick to the 2-stick genres just like ps3 game makers.
These games are done and need to get the hell out of the way so something new and good can sell enough copies to be successful:
Metal Gear Solid
Resident Evil
Final Fantasy 13 - when it's finally released.
Gran Turismo. It's maxed out.
Splinter Cell. The series is terrible and should never have had even one sequel.
Killzone. Not a great game, its sequel ran entirely on the reputation of an expo rendered demo. Other than that, a shooter. yip freakin e.
Battlefield: the first 2 battlefields were great. Now they suck.
Medal of Honor: quit milking the Audie Murphy genre EA. Make something real.
Movie Games: Developers who make games based on movies should be ashamed. Only exception is Star Wars Battlefront.
Sonic the Hedgehog: I hope Sonic steals the One Ring that Rules them all by accident with all those other rings, puts it on and gets killed at last by Sauron or Gollum.
Jak and Daxter: a ps2 franchise. They were cute once, not anymore.
Ratchet and Clank: the same thing as Jak and Daxter, just less cute and dumber.
Quake Wars, Quake This, Quake That. Even Unreal Tournament is obsolete. There's now a game called Halo Wars. Arena shooters are finished. It's strategy now. Quake fans have all the tools they need to make Quake games themselves if it's so important.
Ridge Racer: ridge racer 7 was so awful that it's hard to believe there were six previous titles. And drifting is NOT racing. It's a style sport.
Clearly Kojima intended to end Metal Gear at 4, but was pressured by his investors to keep their gravy train going. That's why sequels are made and why they turn to crap. I guarantee you mgs rising will be crap. And I like Metal Gear. It's a shame that they're pushing the series past its time to make a quick buck.Don't worry m8 if you own a ps3 i was annoyed to but once again Xbox has slightly lied at there press Conference. MGS:R was not in their exclusives section of the Conference, they just made it seem that way. Gamespot has a website confirms the arrival of MGS:R on the PC and PS3 but its release date is TBA.
To be honest would Konami keep Sony out the loop when Japans biggest selling console is PSP and PS3 :)

Just wondering. oh, and if it does,how long until i see the effects of the virus. will it be immediately or laterno, there is no virus capability on the ps3. While the ps3 uses Netscape 5.0, and does save cookies and history, there's no way to download anything other than video, music or photos, and the operating system can't be affected by any of them. Viruses are designed to exploit security flaws in Windows. The ps3 doesn't use windows, and its OS functions on an encrypted partition too. No virus designer would even have a clue what to hack on the ps3. It's a very secure system.

Ok, should I get it or not ?. I wan't to buy this game but i find it weird the way you shoot and move. It's like slow, no offense to people who love it and got it, but I mean in terms of camara. Anyway, I only got the demo on the ps3 so I only see 3 guns; the shot gun, hand gun, n the mp5. If I buy the game will I be able to pic out weapons, how do i get unlimited ammo all that stuff. Can someone who has the time please explain to me how the game works, and everything. and I see people criticizing other for the way they shoot, so that mean's im probably going to get criticize a lot . lolThe game itself is a great one. I would suggest buying it.
There is a great story line and a cool ending. there are a lot of hand guns available after a while in the game all of which are upgradable, then you get shotguns, sniper rifles, assault rifles, a rocket launcher, a grenade launcher, hand grenades, flash grenades, flame grenades, proximity mines, a mini gun, hand cannon's and a bow later in the game. Some of the weapons you have to max out the upgrades on other weapons to unlock using the cash and Gold you find in the game. You can also sell the treasures you find for large amounts of dough if you find enough of them. You will get to pick your weapons that you want at the beginning of every level as ling as you have unlocked and purchased or found them in the game itself. most are not hard to find at all. There is also a flame thrower and a satellite laser that you use but they are only on certain levels during boss fights.
As for the infinite ammo cheats to unlock the infinite rocket launcher you need to beat the game once on any difficulty.
All of the other ammo cheats you need to max out the upgrades on the weapon you want the ammo cheat for. After that you use the special money you acumulated beating levels to but the cheat in the bonus features. The key to get more money for infinate ammo is to get "S" rank on the missions.
This means fast time, Good accuracy, No dying and a lot of dead zombies per that level. Luckally you can replay every level and you keep the money earned every time you beat the level. So you could just keep beating the first level over and over again to get money for ammo cheats but it does take a while. The ammo cheats cost between 12 and 20 thousand dollars. I think if you beat hard mode levels with "S" rank you get 2,000 a level. So keep that in mind.
You also need to turn on the cheat in the extras menu. Then at the begining of playing the game wherever you choose to start since you have beat the game at least once by now you will come to a page that you can turn on infinate ammo on the same screen as choosing weather or not other people can join you.
Unfortunatley you can not give weapons to the other player if you are playing two player.
If people criticize the way you shoot then just boot them from your game, if you play online play with people you know that aren't that rude.
Since you have played the demo then there is no need to explain how the controls work, but you might want to check out IGN.com if you get stuck or can't find certain items or treasures. They also have an excellent walkthrough for the puzzles, treasures and blue shields.
If you are ever in need of money for weapon upgrades then look up RE5 Golden egg cheat. It will also work with rotten eggs so if you find one of the two then use that secret to get a tom of money. It is tedious at first but a great source of income. It took me about 45 min and I got about 2.9 million dollars, needless to say enough to buy all of the weapons and max out all upgrades at the same time.
Note: I had done this after beating the game 5 times.
One more thing - very important to remember is that you cannot buy ammo for anything except the grenade launcher. You can buy grenades as well but not regular ammo. The first answer you got was from someone who didn't know what they were talking about.
Like I said a great assition to the Resident Evil series.

Lordredsomers@yahoo.comI do believe that you will be able to have more than those three guns on the actual game, due to the gold being dropped, or found in barrels and crates within the demo. Gold, in my opinion, will allow you buy weapons, maybe even upgrade them somewhat, buy herbs, first aid sprays and the such, as well as ammo.
As for the unlimited ammo, no help there, I don't like using cheats on games that often, rarely will I use cheats. And as far as picking out weapons, like a loadout. I cannot say, but it would be nice if it was an option. =Pok ill break it down for you, re5 is nothing like the demo, the demo sucked, so i took the leap of buying it blindly, you definitely can have more than 3 guns, you have 4 different shotguns, 4 different handguns, rifles, sub-machine guns, gatling gun, longbow, uh ya in other words hella weapons. the aim takes a little getting used to and the way it works but once you get used to it, it can be a really fun game. You get new weapons by purchasing them with gold and jewels you find and sell. you get unlimited ammo for said weapons by upgrading them fully, which yes costs a pretty penny but its worth it. The thing i really like about the game is that its got alot of replay value. Ive played the game at least 4 times over just because i want to get all the weapons and upgrade them all and stuff, not to mention if you hop on with a buddy you have online co-op and splitscreen co-op if you're together. You have online and not mercenaries mode which is addicting. The only downside to the game is your partner sheva in the game, if you're not playing with a friend sheva doesnt organize her own stuff. You have to order her to pick stuff up half the time. But other than that, re5 is well worth buying. dont base your decision on the demo.

I got it on Friday and i haven't had a problem, into today... When i go to youtube and search for a video it works but when i try to search for another video, that's when it freezes... WTF!

I've just recently downloaded Crash Bandicoot for my PS3 over the PSN, and when trying to install, it won't, and tells me there was an error. Can anyone tell me what the problem is, or what I need to do to fix it?You could try deleting it from under the Game Menu and then go to the Playstation Store and re-dowload it. Go to recent downloads and activate it again, you won't need to buy it again because you have already brought it once.
The same thing happened to me when I was downloading the COD5 Map Packs, it said there was an error, so I canceled it and started it again and it worked.
