Are air coolers for ps3 actually useful?

May be...

i saw a pretty good and cheap aircooler at futureshop the other day, it was only 20$ and i was wondering if they actually do something useful or is it just a waste of money.

No. They actually slow down the PS3's cooling mechanisms and block the vents on either side so it can expel air. They're powered by the PS3 as well so take up even more power and use up more heat.



PS3's fan is fine as long as you give the console a 10cm gap on all sides away from walls etc and keep it in a well conditioned room.

Well, I would recommend one if you play your PS3 a lot. If it's just casual play, then you shouldn't need one, but if you play a lot during the day, it wouldn't hurt to buy one, but it still isn't really necessary.

dont waste your money. and it will void your warranty. you better off buying another game. like battlefield bad company
