Which resolution is better for the PS3?

May be...
  • so i got a hdmi and i dont understand which resolution is better 1080i or 1080p????
  • 1080p has a better picture than 1080i because the p stands for progressive scan which gives you high quality picture with less flickering.
  • At the core of the PlayStation 3 you’ll find a remarkably powerful Cell Broadband Engine microprocessor working in unison with the RSX graphics processor. Together, these components create a punishing 2 teraflops of processing power - guaranteed to define the standard of interactive home entertainment for generations to come.

    ps3 40gb
  • 1080p is true hd while 1080i is a bit below true hd ! The p stands for progressive scan and the i stands for interlaced !

Progressive just means the picture is always being scanned to show the best quality while interlaced is typically lacking picture quality as it is stagnated !
  • 1080p is the highest quality image that you can get. 1080i is a lower quality then 480p. 1080i is a joke. If you can't use 1080p use 720p.
  • you should check out this site where you can get a playstation 3 for free (hey, that rhymes!)
  • 1080p is the best 1080i is the same as 720p
  • 1080p. it's the top definition.
  • 1080p is better cause it gives you a better framerate
  • 1080p is better. It looks a lot better on movies. But it is still better
  • 1080p....dont get fooled with with the i, its ok but, p is the top dawg
  • i think blue ray is the best
