The weakness would be the library of games. Up until now, there has been a shortage of quality games. That however, is beginning to change. Sony is starting to pump out quality exclusives in a manner that they did with the ps2 that made it the handsdown winner in the last gen race. In the next several months you'll have SOCOM, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Gran Tursmo 5 and Killzone 2. All exclusive to the ps3.
The other advantage that the 360 has to this point is XBL. That will also change as HOME will revolutionize the way people interact and play online.
The fact is, the 360 has peaked wheras the ps3 is just beginning to see the potential. Look at MGS4 and you will see exactly what to expect from the future of the ps3. Compare MGS4 to any 360 game and will notice a clear difference in graphics. Also consider that even MGS4 does not fully push the limitations of the ps3.
Strengths:-
Blu-Ray
Exclusive titles: - MGS4, GT5, FFXIII, Unchartered, RFOM2
Looks Better
The software is improving all the time
in game XBM coming extremely soon!!!!!
quieter than xbox 360
the PS3 is on the rise
their bringing out a Wii like controller soon
Disadvantages -
No achievments and In game XMB but that is coming within the next 2 months.
Those are the only disadvantages
Overall: BUY the PS3, you wont regret it.
Microsoft are gonna bring out a new console in 2 years which shows how lame the 360 is at the moment.
anyways hope this helps
There are 2 truths in this statement - 1. It's great all the way. 2. the 360 breaks down allot.
Other than that, I have no idea where this guy gets his facts.
Quick breakdown:
20/60GB 97% backward compatibility because the EE chip and GPU found in these 2 configs, is the same as in PS2. (Discontinued)
80GB - 80% roughly backwards compatibility. Has GPU of PS2, but emulates the EE chip with software.
40GB - No backwards compatibility - does not have either EE chip, or GPU, or emulation.
The only weakness the PS3 has, is that it does not have full backwards compatibility on every platform.
Anyways, sorry for rambling. I guess to sum it up, I'll say that I've had my PS3 for about a year and I've never had a problem...except for SONY always delaying the release of HOME...but that's another story entirely.
