PS3 freezing?

May be...

i was playing call of duty 4 and my PS3 froze i restarted it and its fine im wondering if this has ever happend to you and if i should be nervous

Thats totally and completley normal. And there is no need to be worried. It happens to just about everyone every now and then. The causes of freezing may be for several reasons, but there is no need to worry. Like other people above me said, dont keep your PS3 on for too long. Parts of the console may get damaged as well as the disc. But other than that, freezing is a common little thing that everyone gets. No worries.

dont listen to BIG J dont buy the intercoolers for the ps3 they arent need the ps3 will get hot but wont overheat besides a warning will popup if it does get hot and if it gets too hot it will auto shutdown to protect it..

i play COD4 all the time and mine froze once or twice while playing or starting a game. sometimes the PS3 will go back to main menue for reason at all, i think its all bugs in the recentupdates because this is when mine froze. also check your disc to make sure it isnt scratched.. once i had tape on my disc so it would go REALLY slow and after games it would freeze, took off the tape and it worked fine. your ps3 or disc getting hot wont affect game play your ps3 will never get overheated and if it so happened did it will shut itself down. ummm oh your diskgetting hot has nothing whatsoever to do with ANY problem the disc isnt effected.. also i heard if you smoke ciggerettes the smoke can actually fog the laser lens possibly freezing it. also never set your ps3 on the capet, dust will get in it. also make sure your ps3 is in the open and not cramped because it may get very warm.

it hapened to me while i was waiting for more players on cod4 online but it only happens to me on one level once a while but never happens to me on another. but if ur 360 had frozen its a sign of the red ring of death

Nothing to worry about. It happens on a daily basis for me. Just don't play too long because the system will overheat and will shut down or possibly damage parts.

don't worry just dont play to much time because the ps3 gets hot buy on of them thing tht make the ps3 not get to hot

yeah....it happens to me too...just make sure you dont flip the switch in the back...always restart it...
