Yes, in Sepetember the 40gb is going to be discontinued. Theyre going to upgrade the 40gb to be 80gb. So basiclly it will be a 40gb with a larger hardrive. This new 80gb model will have all the features the 40gb had.



2 USB Slots, No Flash Card Readers, Its not compadible with PS2 games only with PS1 games. And yes, the new 80gb model will cost the same as the 40gb.



If you still want to know when the next price drop is going to be, id say probably near the end of the year. (December)

yes as announced at e3 this year sony will reduce the price of the 80 gig models to $399 plus tax. that included a game/movie and dualshock 3 controller

Yes. This September they will have the 80gb core version, and the 80gb premium version or whatever you want to call it. If you watch the E3 press conference video it talks about the price drop.

yeah in september 08.. sony is gonna launch the 80gb Core, for $399 + tax..which is just like 40gb just with more memory..

yes it will take the price but will have no backwards compatibillity
