Which PS3 is best???

May be...

I plan on buying a ps3 soon... I want to know which one is the best. I like all the cool things like the many usb ports, sd card slots and the fact that u can switch out the hard drives etc. I have a lot of ps2 games and i hear the new one won't allow me to play them... whats a good ps3 to get that can support my needs or the closest match, while keeping the price in mind? What is the best method to get it? ex: ebay, best buy, shady ally in chinatown, buy from another country, amazon, etc.???? thanks!

Since you have a lot of PS2 games, I recommend a 60GB. The 20 and 60GB use PS2 hardware which make them best with backwards compatibility with PS2 games. The 80GB emulates the PS2 chip. In other words, software instead of hardware is used on the 80GB for PS2 games. Some PS2 games will not play properly on the 80GB. The 40GB has no PS2 compatibility. The 20 and 60GB have been discontinued. You can use places like ebay, gamestop, or amazon to get a 60GB.

Please note: Sony also discontinued the 40GB. Starting this September, Sony is shipping a new 80GB that will exactly be the 40GB, meaning no PS2 compatibility. So try to get the best as soon as possible. I still recommend the 60GB if you want to play PS2 games on it.



By the way, all models have PS1 compatibility.
