Playstation games for a 5 year old?

May be...
  • My nephew has given my 5 year old son his old PlayStation (version 1).Is there a site where I can find a list of games suitable for him? ( He enjoys anything with cars) How do I tell if it will play on a PS1 as opposed to a PS2 or 3?

    Thanks for your help.
  • You can go to the official ratings site for games.

Just check the age recommendation (in case for your 5 year old "E for Everyone"), and the line below choose Playstation 1 (it's preety deep down below "Older Platforms".

    Then klick "Search".

You will get a list with games suitable for your nephew and for PS1.

To find out, if the game is for PS1, look for small square shaped CD-Jewel case like game boxes with a black "Playstation" at the top of the game cover.

The PS2 has rectangular DVD cases. And the PS3 has rectangular boxes, that are a little bit smaller than standard DVD cases.
  • Well since he has a ps1 the only games that he will beable to play on that system would be playstation one games. The game cases will say what system you can play it on. And on the the cases of the ps1 games there are ratings like Mature-17+, E-for everyone.

I think this link will be very helpful for you

    Hope I helped
  • To tell which are PS1 games, just look at the covers. Instanrly, you will find the console name...

Since the graphics on the PS1 isnt too good, so theres not much blood on PS1 games...so just stick with racing games.
  • Monsters Inc, Micro Machines, Gran Turismo, The Italian Job.
