Two questions: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus?

May be...
  • So I have two questions about these two similar games (at least from what I hear). First off, why in the world is ICO so difficult to find? It's an old PS2 game and I see it on Amazon selling for over $100! There's nothing of it on Gamestop, either. I really wanna play the game because I hear the art style and overall story is fantastic.

I also want to play Shadow of the Colossus because I hear it also has a very good art style similar to ICO's and a great (but mysterious) storyline. The thing is, I'm worried that it is too simplistic and too short (around 6-8 hours I hear). From what I'm getting, you basically go travel and kill 16 colossi with nothing really in between. What makes this game so great anyway?
  • Why is Ico so hard to find? It didn't sell a lot, it did horrible in sales, only about 700,000 copies worldwide. Why didn't it sell a lot? Because most people have such short attention-spans to pay attention to the actual game instead of just the cover art, Shadow of the Colossus did much better in sales, since it was more combat-oriented than Ico, which was mainly a puzzle-adventure game with a few fights here and there.

Shadow of the Colossus is a GREAT game, although it is short ( 9 hours for me), it's still a game that's not to be missed out on. The game only has 16 Colossi to kill, which sounds bad on paper, but turns out to be great; it gives you an eerie sense of loneliness throughout the game

What makes the fights interesting is that each Colossi needs a completely different strategy to kill each, you could master killing one, but the next one needs a completely different tactic to take down. Half the fun of this is just figuring out how to kill them ( seriously)

It's an epic game, the music also helps add to the epicness of the battles

Let me show you one of the ones you have to take down:

    Just look at it

The game is only $20 now

    BUY THIS GAME
  • I had ICO, and as beautiful as it was, it confused me. I couldn't even find a way to save my game, so I sold it. But you said it costs $100, I should have kept mine.

As for SotC, people like playing video games, especially for their boss battles, so if you create a game with just boss battles, it should be a success, right?
  • Shadow of the Colossus is hard. Like, really effing hard. But also incredible. For 20$, it's an amazing deal.
  • Well Ico is so hard to find because it didn't sell much. It happens to many great games mainly because people usually buy only games they see advertised on tv they also let reviews from websites like gamespot influence them. Many times they underscore great games.

Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games i've ever played, i strongly recommend it. It is a bit short but it's not like any game you've ever seen. What i liked about this game was it's uniqueness, it's one of a kind and definetely a must play for all gamers. Just think about the idea of using a small warrior armed with a sword and a bow going up against massive giants. Awesome game i suggest you play it before it become absolete like Ico.
