Rockband for ps2/ps3?

I'm looking at Rockband instruments and it says for ps2/ps3. Do they come ready for the ps3 or ready for the ps2? Or do you need to buy a converter to play on either console? Thanks.

when i bought the rockband bundle it came with a usb adapter that added four extra USB ports to my PS2 i am almost positive that you will be able to use the same instruments because they are all USB compatile (including the guitar)

No, you do not need to buy a converter because the ps3 and ps2 are the same for the most part when it comes to this. They will work if they were made for ps2 instruments and you use them on the ps3. They will be compatible. The thing is though, if you buy guitar hero instruments for ps2, they aren't compatible with ps3.
