PS3 Controller Problems?

May be...
  • Every time i turn on my controller for my ps3 it always starts on controller number 3 and i always have two change it manually is there a way two turn it on and automaticly make it on controller 1 by its self?
  • if you have any other controller (like the guitar, etc) plugged in to the USB port of the PS3, it usually is assigned as controller 1. Anything plugged in to the PS3 is assigned as controller 1. So, if you unplug that one, it may resolve your problem. I have the same problem because I have a PS2 to PS3 adater plugged into it for my PS2 wireless controller (logitech) that I use as a second controller for PS3.
  • idk Report Abuse
  • Check under your accessory settings and controller settings. There is a default for some accessories. Usually this is used to control bluetooth remotes but it may affect your controllers. See if it is set to go to controller port 3. If it is, set it to 7. Then turn off your system, then turn it back on with the controller still off. then plug the controller in and press the PS button. See if this resolves your problem.
  • Yea go to acceserory settings go to change controller number(or something close to that) and switch it from 3 to 1
  • Look in your USB ports

If you have certain things plugged into your USB

slots they will take the place of 1st controller

and so on, and then your controller will just take the

    next open slot
