It depends on what you want.



Personally I use the PShh or whatever it's called!!! It's got such a high rate of fire.



However, MP40 is a good all-rounder.



Some of the big machine guns are worth it too.



If you're new to the game, go through all of them and complete the challenges. Loads of XP's waiting for you there.

in terms of range, accuracy, mobility, and fire rate, not to mention it can have many attachments, i would say Stg-44 ( it was state of the art tech in its time as well). Mp40 is very reliable and has high damage, but suffers at long range.

as with any game, it depends on your playing style. i haven't got the chance to play WaW but on CoD4 my personal favorites are the MP5 silenced and P90 silenced. Maybe a better question would be to ask which SMG is the best, or which rifle is the best, etc.
