The "PhysX" the PS3 is getting is just an SDK (software development kit), something to make PS3 developers lives' a little easier. Whether or not it translates into better games, or even shorter development cycles (the real Achilles heel of the PS3 - coding for a 7-core chip is a HUGE burden and the main reason why PS3 games take longer to make than 360 or Wii games) remains to be seen.

It's possible because PS3 already has an Nvidia built into it called the RSX Reality Synthesizer.
