Why does Sony think that after 9 years of production $99.99 is a deal on a PS2?

May be...
  • Seriously this thing has been out 9 years and is just under 100 bucks, I just don't get it
  • Well.. It is probably the best console to date, and since it's still selling pretty good, that's not a bad price. And.. if they figure people buy $60 games all the time for the next gen games, I'm pretty sure that some people that don't have a console will see that price as a good deal, and technically it is, for how huge of a library it has.. and honestly, why would sony want a "good" deal for the consumer? they need to make money, so they'll lower the price only as much as they have to.
  • PS2 is the last 6th generation console, and is the most successful gaming console of all time. It's still worth every cent, as there are thousands of games out there on the PS2 library. Microsoft's Xbox only lasted about 4 years and Ninetndo's gamecube only lasted about 5 years. PS2 is nine years strong and still growing, until every PS2 user transitions into the leap to PS3.
  • Yeah, because your rich. (You wouldn't understand)

Unlike people who really can't afford to pay 200 dollars or more and plays gameboy and etc... are poor people.

Also, since PS2's are going to die, it's basically might as well as sell all the PS2's that they have. Just make them cheap and people would buy it.

    PS2 are still the best
  • it's the vast software library available that the ps2 has. despite being last generation, it's selling well. i guess those that can't afford present generation or people now discovering gaming. it's a good start for them.
  • The thing it, I would pay that for a PS2. I would not pay that for a PS3.
  • It's still worth every penny.
