NTSC playstation in the UK?

May be...
  • If i bought a NTSC playstation, would it work in the Uk?
  • Dont listen to the guys above, they're both wrong.

It will work fine, no convertors or other crap needed.

All you need to do is buy a UK power lead, the US versions come with a 2 pin plug that America uses, google 'kettle power lead' and you'll find one that has 3 slots and will power your PS3 fine. (Here is a pic for reference: http://www.tvcables.co.uk/images/items/2...
  • Yes (i assume you're talking PS3 rather than 2 or 1), but...

    1. The electrics are different, so you'd need a step-down convertor (cost about a tenner) or you'll fry it before you start.

EDIT: apologies, but the other guy is right - you needed it for the older consoles, but the PS3 can cope fine.

    2. Your TV would need to support NTSC (if it's fairly new it probably does, and if it's HD then it'll be fine).

    3. PS3 games are region free, so you can buy them here without problem.

Blu-rays and DVDs are region locked, so if you wanted any of them you'd have to import them from where you bought the console from.
