Can my ps3 play my ps2 games?

May be...
  • I own an 80gb ps3 and i'm unable to play ps2 games, i've been told that it can't play ps2 games it can only play ps1 and ps3 games, is there a programme i could possibly download? If so please post the link, thanks
  • It sounds like..... you own one of the ps3 that do not play ps2 games anymore the last 80 gb ps3 that played ps2 games was the metal gear bundle. After that bundle they took that feature off

There are no software that you can download....sorry..

There is a software you can download but it will play a hand full of games mostly the newer ones.

Not sure if the newer ones anytime soon will work with ps2 games most likely not cuz they want you to buy a ps2 its 99 bucks now...

here check in more detail about your model

  • You probably have the 80GB model that has only 2 USB ports in the front bottom of the PS3.

You can't play PS2 games on it, only PS1 games and PS3 games. There is NO program, software, emulator, or anything like that that would make your PS3 play PS2 games.

Nothing can make a non-backwards compatible PS3 play PS2 games. Sucks, I know.
  • Nope unfortunately you can't. I was quite annoyed by this aswell but I still got my PS2 so it isn't that bad.
  • now they can check the playstation store for a download to play ps1 and ps2 games, its free.
  • nope, it cant play ps2 games.sorry!
