Sony PS3 blue-ray fix?

May be...
  • hi i am buying a 40gb ps3 off of ebay the ps3 doesnt read disc but everything else works fine and it still has warranty seal on it but the warranty is expired will sony still fix it and will it cost if so how much
  • If the warranty sticker is still intact it should cost around $150 to be repaired and Sony will definitely repair it but unless the system is going for around $150 on eBay, it's not worth it since a new 80GB PlayStation 3 costs $400 and comes with a 1 year warranty and obviously more hard drive space. So if the system will cost less than $150 on eBay go for it, otherwise I wouldn't bother as it would be a lot of money for a system that's already out of warranty, plus the 40GB console has the exact same features as the current 80GB console (in short, neither the 40GB you're interested in, or the new 80GB I suggested play PS2 games).
  • They should. Its gonna cost $162 give or take.

Blu-Ray issues shouldn't be a complicated fix for Sony.
  • if it hasnt been messed with it, like opened itll cost you around 150 to 180 dollars
