ps3 is a overpriced bluray player ......the only diff. between the 360 and ps3 is the ps3's online is free cuz the graphics r the same .....but u ever heard of the saying nothing good in life is free...........so to me ps3 needs to drop their price and then they might be selling more systems

The reason ppl think PS3 is better because of BluRay is because it "comes with a Blu-Ray built-in" and that means one less thing you need to buy! Unlike the PS3 the 360 supports "HD DVD" but.... it does not come with it built in. You therefore have to go out and buy it separately which cost about $149 and 360 does not have WI-FI so then you will have to buy the WI-FI adapter which is about $80.



Now that we thought of all that PS3 is $499 and the total amount of the 360 is $199 (360 Console) + $150 (HD DVD PLAYER) +$80 (WI-FI adapter) = TOTAL: $450!

So the 360 is $50 more than the PS3 if you think about it!



P.S. Blu-Ray graphics make a huge difference. 1080p!!

1.bluray.it has the best picture quality for movies, and in some games it does make the quality better, bluray rocks if youve got an hdtv.



2.exclusive titles.yes, all consoles have their exclusive titles, but ps3 has some awsome exclusive titles, killzone, motorstorm littlebigplanet(kinda babyish tho)you get the point.



3.Wireless controler come standard.Yeah, some bring sixaxis,some dualshock 3, and the difference is annoying, trust me, but they come stardard wireless, xbox 360 wireless will run you about $50 for controller(wireless).



4.WI-FI.wi-fi comes standard on ps3, AND theres ethernet cable also, so you can choose.wifi adapter will run you im not sure if it was $50 or somethin like that, but anyway, standard!



5.Bluetooth. if you dunno what it is, its a method of short range communication, between two or more devices, distances range from 35ft to about 125 ft.PS3 uses bluetooth, which means you can connect any bluetooth headset that you have.



6.free online play, and playstation home!Play station home, is like a living, breathing world of avatars, completely free! and online play may be crappy, but its free, and the ps3 has a built in web browser, in which you can even watch youtube!(btw youtube page is i think youtube.com/tv)

Who cares about blue ray? Omfg man. Blue ray is the new frontier. It is the climax of high def right now. The PS3 is such a better system in terms of power, potential, and games. A dvd disc holds 9 gig, while a blue ray disk holds 50 gig. over 5 times as much memory for 5 times better games! The ps3 has so much more power than the 360, and with free online, completely wireless, and a failure rate of .2% compared to the xbox 33%, the ps3 is not a very expensive machine. You will pay alot more for a 360. The ps3 has so much more for the money and is easily the cheapest consol for the features it has on it.

If you were to buy everything the PS3 has built in on the Xbox, the Xbox would cost more than the PS3. And while there are cheaper Blu-ray players on the market now, that was not the case when the PS3 first came out as it was the cheapest Blu-ray player for over 2 years. Graphic wise, the PS3 has more potential than the Xbox (look at MGS4 and Killzone 2), but the problem is that if developers don't use it, then it doesn't matter. The place you see the difference is in exclusive titles (MGS4 and Killzone 2) on how much the PS3 is so much better than the Xbox.



Now, with all of that said, the reason Sony has free online is because Micro$oft blows Sony out of the water in this area. Micro$oft has been dealing with internet stuff for ages, and Sony has a lot of catching up to do. Is Sony behind online wise? Yes, but over time they will compete with Micro$oft, if not pass them by, and when that time comes, Sony will be charging just like Micro$oft does. Beside, Sony online isn't bad considering it is free.



The PS3 is outselling the Wii and Xbox in Japan, and Japan is the focal point when it comes to these sort of things. This just started a couple months ago, with Wii being #1, Xbox being #2, and PS3 being #3 before that. Sony has no reason to lower the price of the PS3 considering they are still losing money on every PS3 sold, and as history has shown, the PS3 will come out on top again. There is a reason the Xbox was pushed out a year sooner and Sony decided not to rush theirs. Micro$oft pushed their system out knowing it had defects, and now the consumer is having to deal with that. Sony wanted to push theirs out sooner, but decided to make sure they could put out the best product possible with the most features possible.



In the long run, Sony knows what they are doing, and as long as they have Micro$oft to push them, it will get better.



Now, tell the real reason you posted this comment: The PS3 need to drop its price so that you can get one. It would be nice if it was cheaper, but if you consider everything the PS3 has, you are already getting a deal at its current price.

IT DOES perform way better graphic wise. It's just that all multi-platform games were made with the xbox 360 in mind and not playstation 3. ( this is coming from a guy who owns niether but played both). You have to see Killzone 2 graphics in HD on Youtube. Or look up Uncharted or even better the upcoming uncharted 2. So graphics actually are better.



Do you know that it has built in wifi? The xbox 360 wifi adapter costs $100. So really once you get that, it's the same price! Plus you can surf the web, and play online free on the ps3. The thing the xbox 360 does have over the ps3 though is that it comes with a headset.



It also has the best upcoming exclusive games for 2009/2010. Xbox 360 on the other hand only has Halo ODST. Playstation 3 is getting:

Now list of xbox 360 ONLY games ( as many of there games just get sent to PC) can compare to this. Xbox 360 just relies on Halo 3 and Gears of War. But why get 2 games when you can get the 10 games i mentioned (and more) and then the 8 games coming out! E3 is also around the corner so they're going to announce more! So if you had a ps3 you'd be playing on those titles and then some of the same games you find on the xbox 360, like Fallout 3 or Dead space.



Yes, i think ps3 should drop it's price but you get more out of it then any other console and will last until 2016. So $400 for lets see 7 years? That's only like $57 each year , which isn't alot. And imagine PS home and all the upcoming updates and games for the ps3 within the next seven years.



Xbox 360 was a great console for it's time but now, and slowly the ps3 is dominating and more and more people are seeing that. and More and MORE ps3 sales.



The price drop your talking about may even come into effect sometime

most likely your fan or hard drive has failed. if it has been turned on and off multiple consecutive times, or has been unplugged or turned off from the back switch, it could cause hard drive failure. if you have over used it, such as playing in longer than 2 hour periods, then the fan has most likely failed, if not, its worse. by worse i mean, that because of head, there could be extensive damage, such as too several cores of the processor.



the user book recommends that you take 15 minute breaks between 1 and a half hour gaming sessions, not bluray.



you can still send it back to sony, if its one of the aforementioned problems, its most likely just around 80$ american to fix.

I have no clue what you should do. But if it happened to me I would reset the PS3 turn it off, then turn off the back switch and leave it like that for a day or two. You might also want to try cleaning the dust out with a vacuum. After all that is done I would point a fan at it while gaming, you might want to take it out of a confined space (if it is in one) and keep the room temp that you're gaming in cool.

Sounds like u play ur PS3 TOO MUCH. Take a break for at least 2 hours after each gaming session so ur system can cool itself. Also, try to limit ur gaming sessions to less than 3 hours.

1) Just depends what your in the mood for. I think Resistance has longer game play than Street Fighter. Also the online multiplayer for Resistance is great, but Street Fighter added some new things like destructible environments so the stage can change every time you play. If you haven't played Resistance(1) fall of man pick it up cheap and have at it then get Street Fighter as well. This way you can wait for a price drop on Resistance 2. as for the choice if youre looking for a better online game resistance 2 takes the cake...psn for street fighter 4 is SO bad it takes almost 2 minutes to find a match sometimes...theres also alot of "pulling" going on, where if youre winning in a match someone will disconnect to not get a loss on their record, gets very annoying sometimes..

Most likely they'll be $60 each in stores because they're still fairly new games. Go to Best Buy, they have better deals than most stores. EBgames rips u off because I bought a used game from them for like $35 while the new price was $40. They're inFAMOUS for doing this often. Cheap bastards.

Depends on what you would rather play. If you go to Game Crazy they will probably have those games cheap used. They are selling MGS 4 for 31 dollars and GTA 4 for 28. They are probably the best bet.

For example, on ebay I found a brand new, 16mb (one with twice the standard memory) memory card for only $2. No need to fork out $25 for an 8gb one with Sony written on it.

no, they do not come free with the system. you would have to buy one separate. a new Sony 8MB memory card is $25, used at GameStop is $13. there are other brands, but I refuse to buy them. I only buy Sony brand for my PS2.

The original 20 and 60gb models can play them. The original 80gb models will only play about 80% of PS2 games. All other models either have none or very limited backward compatibility for PS2 games.

depends on if it is "backwards compatable" or not

a backwardds compatable system will usually run you more, but plays the older games. a system that is not backwards compatable will only play ps3 games.

PS3s play AVI files since the integration of Divx on one of those firmware updates in the past. However, AVI files have several different codecs depending on the player. Some AVI files with incompatible codecs may not play in PS3.
