i have just set up boyfriends wireless on his new ps3. so he can play his friends online on GTA. Can you, by any go onto google or facebook on it?? or is it just for online gaming?when on the internet browser screen press triangle and there should be enter address from there enter google or facebook and it should work from there you can also add those sites to bookmarks for qucik access in the future or set them to your home pageyes you can and you can also listne to music while browsing plus you can play flash games as well and watch youtube :D

thanks for readingNo. They actually slow down the PS3's cooling mechanisms and block the vents on either side so it can expel air. They're powered by the PS3 as well so take up even more power and use up more heat.
PS3's fan is fine as long as you give the console a 10cm gap on all sides away from walls etc and keep it in a well conditioned room.Well, I would recommend one if you play your PS3 a lot. If it's just casual play, then you shouldn't need one, but if you play a lot during the day, it wouldn't hurt to buy one, but it still isn't really necessary.dont waste your money. and it will void your warranty. you better off buying another game. like battlefield bad company

Ok, so I need some help finding a PS1.. I don't want to go on Ebay because shipping electronics bother me alot and im not sure if anyone sells them anymore. The reason why im looking for one is because 7 years ago I gave it away to my mom's boyfriend for my gamecube.. I would just get a new PS2 if you want to play PS1 games. That way you can extend your games library with some PS2 games as well. The only PS1 consoles you'll be able to find are used.
The PS2 also has some of the best games ever. I highly recommend getting Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami to start you off. Best games for the system in my opinion (read up on them though, because you may not like the genre).ps2 and ps3 can take those games

yes i must agree, get the xbox360. in long run, it will save u $$$ in terms of games.
1 of the advantage of having xbox360 is it can be hacked/modded to enable it to run cheap copied games.(u'll save alot $$$ on games) and no, u wont get banned from live.I have a modded 360 & I still can play online.
According to most reviews, the graphic is nicer compare to ps3....well, it is definitely worth gettting it..
in my opinion, ps3 is not 100% ready yet.especially ps3 online network comunity.so why wait when u can play live now with xbox 360.u pay money for the console so that u can enjoy the priveleges not sit around n WAIT til it is 100% fully ready. blueray games are not cheap too...Well both are great choices and very effective consoles. If your looking for most efficient/effective Sony Playstations are a much more reliable for both durability and effectiveness compare to the Microsoft Xbox360 1 in every 3 Xbox360 fail or break down within 2-5 months of constant use. The PS3 has fewer games for it but has much better quality picture and better graphics than the 360. Then again the 360 has far more games for it, not to mention the exclusive games that only Microsoft studios produce for their own game consoles, for example Halo and Bioshock (Both excellent games by the way). Then there is price range, a PS3 goes for $400-$600 a console and 360s range from $360-$500. in my personal opinion I think you should get an Xbox 360 Elite, it may be a bit pricier than the PS3 (by about $50 compared to a $400 PS3) Elites are more efficient and effective compared to the original 360. Playing online is FREE (not so with the 360)
It is constantly updated through firmware updates- giving it no end to what it CAN do in the future.

Buying a 360 is pointless- give it 3 years and the new xbox will be out.x-box i would never buy its from the same people who did vista and you know how much people like vista... I hate the failure rate of the 360's that is why i would never get one... The ps3 i love, play's blu-ray and there games are in blu-ray so technically they can fit more than 5 times as much as an x-box 360 game can, 8.5gb vs 50gb(blu-ray).
also ps3 can install linux... x-box 360 can't...At the moment I'd go for a PS3.

Well it all depends on whether you want to buy a console and enjoy it now, or buy a console for it to get better in the long run.
Buy an Xbox if you want a great online time, yes before anyone says it I know it costs money but on ebay you can pay £30 for a 13month subscription. Trust me, it's worth it. Xbox has the best exclusive games, Halo 3, Gears of War and bioshock etc.
Get a PS3 if you want a machine capable of great things, but games that aren't. The PS3 has very few exclusive games at the moment that are good and no real games that are worth raving about. I have no doubt in my mind that when the game developers pull their fingers out then the PS3 will become superior to the Xbox but by then again by that time Microsoft might be onto bigger and better things.
If online play is going to be a big thing then I'd definitely buy an Xbox. Before anyone calls me biased yes i have had both a 360 and a 40GB PS3 but the 360 won just because it was superior in nearly every way (except build quality :P)My husband has a PS3 and it is true that you get a lot of cool features with this system. In my opinion it's all for show. I only ever use my ps3 to watch movies, and I have troubles even doing that because of how quickly the system overheats. Lack of games doesn't help..
Also, the xbox 360 has a better processor and GPU, but the PS3 has more processors (Since they choose to go with a single threading processor, they had make up for it somehow, hense, extra hardware)
They only reason the ps3 could ever beat the xbox is because as said, more processors (used to have 8, now 6 I think) And it's GPU (graphics card) is awefully close to xbox's.
Xbox 360 is a fun and wonderful system, they're trying to get more games (like RPG) and that such out there (Lost Odyssey is fun.)
Really though, you can't make the choice based off us, you have to research the system yourself and pick it out yourself.I would rather buy a PS3, I think. k i have an LCD TV and im not even sure they are compatable but i have the power cord plugged in and the AV-out cords in. there is only one other cord and i have no idea where it goes. i know this is pretty much impossible to answer over the internet but is an LCD TV compatable with the PS3?Yup it sure is. Actually LCD is going to be your best in terms of gaming. You won't get any burn in (static images) like on a plasma screen TV.
For the PS3 you'll need that power cord plugged in like you have now.
The AV cords coming from the PS3 should go to the AV IN jacks on the back of your TV (yellow, white, red)
You may also have component video cables (blue, green, red) this will offer HD quality video if your TV supports it.
If it does you would plug those compontent cables into the component IN on your TV (blue, green, red) and find the AV IN jacks that corespond to that component IN channel and plug only the white, and red in there.
I know this may sound a little confusing. I appologize. Let me know the color of the cables your talking about and we should be able to walk you through it, if this doesn't get you through already.post your problem here:

you should then have 2 cables left the ethernet cable and the ps3 controller charging cable

Are there ANY good playstation 3 exclusives out now? I only have Heavenly Sword. I'm always playing my Xbox360 and Wii, but my PS3 collects dust.
So... are there ANY good PS3 exclusives out now, or set to be released in the NEAR future? I don't like sports games. Those are the only games I won't play.

Metal Gear Solid 4 might become one of the greatest games of all time, and uncharted is another great game you should get.

Resistance Fall of Manratchet and clank on the ps3 is a good game and plus u can probaly find a good deal on it if u look around.PS3 had to 'take one for the team' in Sony's bid to make Bluray the next video standard. They won, but the PS3 lost its prominence in the process.
Having said that, the PS3 does have Bluray, so you can use it to watch HD movies even if there are no games to play, that's what I do as a Netflix subscriber, I get bluray movies. And it also (depending on model) plays your PS2 games.
To tell you the truth, the time of 'exclusives' is gone. Games nowadays are just too expensive to make (specially the High Def. games), so most games will come for both the 360 and the PS3 except for a few flagship games like Xbox's Halo and PS3's God of War and Final Fantasy. I don't see a point in having both a 360 and a PS3, unless you really really really like one of the few exclusive games for the console.
It does seem like the PS3 is gaining ground on the 360 (remember the 360 came a year before), and as developers finish coding their middlewares, more and more games will pop.
I think 2009 will be the year of the PS3.

well my ps2 is always braking.. since we got a used one 2 weeks ago i keep getting worried its gonna break.. so i wanna no how long ur supposed to play it.. by the way i have a thin one..It should be able to stay on for weeks!!!!!!!
If you are that worried about it breaking, play for a few hours, save the game, Turn off the PS2 for a while(about 15 mins)
Then turn it on and play again,

Well first off, yes, you can make your own Avatar.
Now, for all of the other information...
You are able to create your own apartment which other people/friends can visit, you are able to upgrade your apartment - but it would cost real money, or from selling items (more on that later). When you invite people over, any music that you have playing would be playing for them, too, and you are able to put your photos on the walls of your apartment so other people can see them. Any videos you are watching they can watch too. You can set up games to play, and even trade with people in there.
Other than apartments, outside, you can go to a Bowling alley and go bowling, Billiards (pool), a movie theater (you have to pay for it, but there would be some freebies).
Game developers also have their own apartments set up for each of their games, and they said when you visit them, you will get some free 'goodies', as well as info on upcoming games.
Game developers also have a dev kit for Home so that they can create new parts of the world that you can visit.
There will be an auction place which you can sell items that you have created, as well as buy new stuff to add to your apartment, or clothing.
Outside of the main building is a great scenery. There is a water fountain, a lot of fancy concrete, buildings, and a lot more to find out.

I called them and they said that I had to go the store and Pre-Order it from there since they don't allow it online. But the store said that they haven't even gotten anything about Pre-Orders for the bundle...nor Best Buy. I talked to the people at both stores and they said that it is most probably going to be a first-come, first-served deal (just like Gamestop) and that they plan to open on the midnight of June 12.
I've been refreshing the Circuit City page for the bundle every so often for the past few days just in case I could get a chance to Pre-Order. It's been pissing me off. So, just keep a lookout for the Pre-Order. I wouldn't worry about it too much (even though I am). This highly-anticipated bundle will sell like hotcakes, and as long as Konami, Sony, and Kojima Productions are making money, there will be more in stock in the later months (perhaps even with the expected 120-160GB PS3 models).On the Circuit City website, there used to be a link where you could pre-order the 80GB PS3 MGS4 bundle because I saw it, but it's not there anymore.

We got a PS3, the 40Gb, not realizing it didn't have the functions to play the PS2 games. Is there any way of setting it up to play them? Anything new anyone has come up with to get it to play them?Yes, there is a way but it may be hard, you have to find a shop and get them to install the PS2 chip and the softwhrer and it should be 99% compatible,Nope. If possible try to return/exchange it for the 80GB model that comes bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4 in June. The 80GB will be able to play many PS2 games.
It's entirely possible for Sony to update the 40GB PS3 firmware to add software emulation which enables it to play PS2 games, but there have been no announcements to do so by Sony, so you'll just have to cross your fingers and probably wait a very long time for this to happen.It is just not possible to generically emulate the PS2 GPU (GS) in software, because the GS is actually faster in certain functions than the RSX. This doesn't affect the PS3, as there are quicker alternatives, but unless the emulator knows the intent of the function, it might not know to use the faster RSX function.

The blu-ray game disk has an analog "watermark" since a burned disk will not have one a burned disk would require a special boot program (iso-booter). To create an iso-booter a custom firmware is required. The PS3 firmware is encrypted and the key is part of the Cell hardware so no-one has been able to crack it (nor are they likely to).You can't play pirated PS3 games, so there is no point in downloading the files.
Even if there ever is a way, it would require you to give up on online gaming and firmware updates altogether. Online gaming is a huge portion of the PS3 now, so Sony will be able to ban people that pirate games pretty easily. It's not worth it.
If you don't want to pay full price for games you can just wait a few months after they come out. You can get older games for less.hm.. PS3 game.. 50GB.. most on a PS3 is 80GB..

My friend has an Xbox with a chip that allows him to save games to play later i was wondering if there was a similar chip for the PS2.There is...but this only works with the original PS2 - not the newer slim line model. This is because you need to connect a hard drive to the PS2, and then install HD Loader onto it.

80 gb expensive, everythingDon't get 80gb, 40 gb ps3 is much better, it doesn't over heat as much and you don't need that much memory unless your storing thousands of games and tens of thousands songs which i doubt, 80gb is also more noisier and the backward compatability isn't very good, I f your going to play PS2 games, why not just play it on your PS2, the graphics don't get better. I have a 40gb PS3 and I 've play on my cousins 80gb PS3 and there is hardly a difference. The 40gb comes with everything needed.The main advantages are those you've listed yourself, the fact that the 40GB is cheaper, and the 80GB is more comprehensive.
It all depends what you want - if you want to stick music and videos and shedloads of savegames on there, and need memory cards, or the ability to play PS2 games, which is what I assume backwards compatibility means, then go with the 80GB model.
Or, if you're on a tighter budget, and don't necessarily need all that, then go with the 40GB model. It's all relative.While the 80GB is a bit more expensive, it is the best version available in terms of BC and features. I have a huge library of PS2 games so for me the 40GB wasn't even an option as I still play some of my PS2 games so BC was at the top of the list for features I was looking for. If BC and not having all the features of the PS3 is of no concern to you and money is an issue then the 40GB is the way to go.

When i click the power on button the ps3 does not turn on but there is a red light, on the controller there are 4 red lights flashing, recently i installed some hd tv thing after it which is today it dsn't seem to work?Try turning it on buy the power button. make sure the main power switch is on in the back. then hit the button next to the eject button. maybe your controller isn't in sync with the PS3. if it's your first time using it, hook it up to your PS3 with the usb cable. if that's not the case, just turn it on manually, then turn the controller on, it'll sync up, if you've already used it before.

Well, not really. Don't forget, you have an enemy! The opposing team is also trying to capture the nodes, and if they do, you have do destroy it, and capture it yourself, and repair it. Once you have successfully destroyed every enemy node (they can repair it, though), head over to their base and start firing at their main Power Core! You might get lucky and destroy it before the enemy repairs another node. [Notable Weapon: Longbow AVRiL - Primary fire sends a rocket, secondary fire displays a beam which can track other enemy vehicles and home onto them. Notable Vehicles: Jet Board - Simply press Square during gameplay to hop onto the board, and away you go! Leviathan - A very powerful vehicle which takes a few people to operate. If used correctly, it can cause massive damage.]
Duel - This mode features one-on-one action in which two people are randomly chosen at the start of the game, and they attempt to kill eachother. The winner of that round stays in there, gets a point, and fights the next player.
Some of the weapons in the game include:
Enforcer: A standard pistol.
Primary fire - Shoots one shot.
Alternate fire - Fires 3 shots in succession.
Bio-rifle: A weapon that fires toxic blobs.
Primary fire - Shoots small blobs in quick succession.
Alternate fire - Hold down to charge, and let go to fire a massive blob which can stick to the floor, or an enemy. Once it sticks, it is a one-hit kill.
Rocket launcher: A standard weapon in any game.
Primary fire - Shoot one rocket.
Alternate fire - Hold down to fire 3 rockets.
Stinger Mini-gun: A future version of the standard Mini-gun.
Primary fire - Shoot standard bullets at a fast rate.
Alternate fire - Shoot 'stinger' bullets, although a slower rate and consumes double the ammunition, it is much stronger.
Link Gun: A hi-tech laser gun.
Primary fire - Shoot balls of energy at a rate of 8 shots per second.
Alternate fire - Fires a beam of energy that is constant, and is vital in repairing nodes in Warfare.
One more thing I like about the game is the character customization. You can create a character from scratch using any of the pieces of equipment/parts for your character.
There are leaderboards online, so you can keep track on how well you are doing.
This game is fast-paced, and really stands out against the other shooters.
The other notable feature in this game is the ability to put your own mods into the game. You can create weapons, vehicles, mutators, levels, etc.

resistance fall of man is probably ur best choice because it is the longest, has great graphics and is not he hardest thing (on hard it is hard, but on easy it is very easy, and on med it is for a good gamer)

Can you save PSP games? No, not actual games only for the PSP, though you can buy them from the playstation store and transfer them to your PSP. And you could also buy PS1 games that will play both on your PS3 and PSP. But I don't think you can actually save PSP games.

when you are playing ps2 games on a ps3 do you need a ps2 memory card or can you save it on the ps3Yes it can, but first you need to create a PS2 memory card on your PS3 harddrive.
Go under games in the main icons
scroll up til you see Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2)
then select New Internal Memory Card
then select Internal Memory Card (PS2)
then you get to label the card whatever you want
then hit OK.
Read the message at the end, it will tell you to assign the memory card to a slot, which you can do in-game when playing a PS2 game by just pressing the PS (home) button. Just look for something that says Memory Card Settings or Assign Memory Card in the menu.it saves right on the ps3 hard drive

I don't want metal gear solid 4 but i want the 80gb system and dual shock controller. Will i be able to return it to best buy fo $59.99?The game should have a "Not for Retail Sale" sticker or print on the case when you get the game. That way you are not able to return it to stores to make a profit. And I believe the bar code for the game is different than the normal retail version so when they scan it into the system it will proably say "Not for retail sale" and they won't accept it.

my panasonic TV is I think a 2001-2003 model. not too sure but just wanted to find out that if I get a PS3, will it still have good graphics? Also, will it get cut off at the edges and will the text be too hard to read?hey man, it doesn't matter what kind of tv you got. the ps3 will play crisp no matter what. (you may have to adjust your tv settings though, i.e brightness level and saturation) but other than that you're fine. man.I use a 20" TV at times for my PS3 (when I can't use my main TV) and other than the normal differences between HD and and standard, there are no issues. As a previous answerer said, some games are made to run better on HD (with smaller font size etc,) but this really causes no problems other than a little eye strain...The PS3 will rescale the screen to fit your TV.
I've heard that some games use a smaller font that's better suited for HD, and as a result may be a little harder to read on a non-HD TV, but I haven't tried this.
The PS3 will look fine on your TV. It will have good graphics, but they won't look as good were you using a HDTV. turok was way too easy. one button kills on dinosaurs takes something away from the history of the game, and the weapons sucked rear end. no creativity at all.

Of those you didn't mention, I would recommend: (though you may have them already) Call of Duty 4. Great multiplayer, story, graphics and all-round gameplay. 2007 game of the year for most magazines.
Unreal Tournament 3. A little disappointing, the storyline wasn't great, but multiplayer and gameplay are still very fun. If you liked the old Unreal games, you'll like this. I should note, however, that this game is rated the same as GTA4, so if you don't want GTA because you aren't old enough, then you won't be able to get this, either.
Oblivion. Huge game, it will keep you playing for hours on end. Great story, very addictive.

Right now, it all depends on what you want. If you like online gaming then go witht he 360. If you like playing party games with friends then its the Wii. And if you enjoy a large library of great games and don't mind the look of the graphics compared to new age systems, then definetly PS2.in my opinion, wii is much better then the other game systems. It allows you to actually be a part of the game, plus, its really cool cause its motion sensitive. And, it has some rock awsome games that are only for wii. Also, the Xbox 360 breaks very easily and usually only has M rated games.

popularity wise in japan they just broke 1 million psn accounts and europe aint far behind.....ps3 is only true nextgen console at the moment....the rest just dont cut itSales and popularity should have nothing to do with you enjoying the PS3. Games and features should be the reason you got it, and the PS3 is the console to get for those reasons. There are a number of awesome exclusives coming, and features are always being added. The bluray player alone makes the PS3 worth purchasing.
The PS2 was the most popular console of all time, so I wouldn't doubt Sony's ability to make their console a top seller. Honestly the Wii will probably be the "winner" in sales this generation, but the Playstations popularity world wide will ensure it eventually takes the 2nd slot (maybe even he first in a few years). As I said, though, sales have nothing to do with you enjoying your gaming console.Metal Gear Solid 4 is comming out very soon so you made a good choice. As far as popularity is concerned, it depends. The sales arent as good as the Wii or 360 but it all depends on what features you are looking for. Having a Blu-Ray player built in is a HUGE plus, free online as opposed to 360's XBL.

i'm getting rock band for my birthday. long story short. drums, mic,guitar. only two controller ports. how does this work? (we got our ps2 th year it came out, so it is one of the older big ones that DON'T have any controller ports on the back?) help.Both the fat ps2 and slim ps2 have two USB ports in the front-I have them both. As for rock band, well, I have that too. There is this white thing that plugs into one of the USB ports (they are next to the controller spots). It has four sections so you can plug the wireless reciever, drum set, mic set, and another guitar all into the USB hub. However, you can use a guitar hero guitar as well which doesn't use USB and just plugs into the regular controller slot.
Just a note-you can't customize or go online with the ps2 version and sometimes people have trouble playing with the fat ps2.the game comes with a conector that u attach to one usb port the conector has like 2 more usb conactors on it if you buy the game as a complete package it has this item includedyou need a USB hub (4 USB ports). If you buy the Full bundle of Rock band (Drums, Guitar, Mic.), then it should come with a USB hub.The PS2 version of Rock Band comes with a 4 port USB hub that plugs directly into your PS2.I think they might have a usb port for it.

so does ma controller have vibration or not?Sony within the last couple months came out with the dual Shock SixAxis controllers which have Vibrations!. The other ps3 controllers are just plain SixAxis controllers. Doesnt matter which one you get they are Both Sixaxis controllers just the dual shock ones have the vibrations in them aswell. If your wondering what SixAxis is it is a feature like the WII were you can use the remote as a motion sensor. So if you were playing a Racing game on your ps3 and it supported the SixAxis than you could control your Racing Car by Turning your controller instead of using the analogs. Really neat technology not as good as the wii but the PS3 is 1million times better than the wii. I have a ps3 and i just have the normal SixAxis controllers I havnt bothered with the dual shock since theres no difference other then the vibrations.

When I hit the PS button on the controller 4 red lights flash on and then off again. I just got my PS3. I have wireless internet sorted. Do I enter call of duty 4 online grom the game menu or the PS3 network menu? Thanksok, put call of duty in your ps3 and start the game. on the main menu of call of duty you should see an option that says "multiplayer". click on it and wait for the next screen. now you should see more options, click on the option that says "play online". then that should take you to another screen then you will see 5 options
option 1. find game (you find a type of online game that you like and you select it, then the your automatically joined into that game with other people)
option 2. private match (this is when you set up a match with you and some friends)
option 3. create a class (this is where you create your personal set of weapons that you will use in online matches)
option 4. barracks (all this is is your rank, like how many kills you have, how many wins you have, etc.)
option 5. party invite (this is where you invite your ps3 friends into one of your matches)

I own Grand Theft Auto 4 for the Playstation 3, and some of the random characters don't spawn in my game. I did the first 2 missions for the random character named Brian, but he does not spawn for the third mission. Badman and other random characters also do not spawn. I did all the missions necessary to have these random characters spawn, but they do not. Is this a technical error that my copy has and is there anyway to fix this?random characters in the game are not out and about 24/7 waiting for u to come around. developers tried to make it as real as possible so they set time clocks on almost everything. just go around the areas as ur going somewhere an they will com up a one time or an other.I already answer the other question you asked which is the same exact question. I moved my tv to anoother side of my room and when i plugged in my playstation 2, no sound came out. I plugged in all the cords and it worked before i moved it.try pushing the A/V connector into the back of the PS2. It could be loose so only video displays. I would like to get an xbox 360 but am very afraid of those 3 red rings of death. a Friend told me that this only happens in the first released versions of the 360 so that if I should buy a 360 elite I should be fine. Now, I really like the ps3 graphics and the fact the it plays blue ray disc even though I wont really use it much because the movies are so overpriced. The ps3 has a .02% ffailure rate. The Xbox 360 has a 33% failure rate, I have heard that the newer Xbox 360 have a 11% failure rate, but that is still extremely high.

The ps3 will have more either at the end of this year or by the end of 1st quarter next year. since ps3's bluray disks have 50GB of space and the Xbox only has 9GB on each disk, so the games on the ps3 will probably be better and it has greater potential for really good games. The real good games will be Haze, MGS4, Gran Turismo 5, Resistance and as of today, Bioshock.
The ps3 also cost significantly less in the short run, it might be more expensive initially you get free online gaming($50 a year on Xbox, though it does have more features, But wouldn't you rather buy a game), built in wireless Internet($100 extra on Xbox), hard drives are cheaper 120GB for Xbox is $179.99 for the same price you could get a 320GB for the ps3(almost 3 times the memory) a 120GB for ps3 cost less than a 20GB for the Xbox, a wireless controller with a rechargeable battery and charge cable for an Xbox is $69.99 all the ps3 controllers have that and sixaxis for $15 less ($54.99 for dualshock3), the cheapest wireless headset for the ps3 is $19.99 and you can use it with your bluetooth cell phone(its a bluetooth headset) for Xbox its $59.99, and you have almost no choice but to buy everything from Microsoft so you have very little choice on what you can buy for it. Sony lets you get accessories from many different companies even though they need the money more (they lose about $260 per system because they cost more then they sell them for)

As far as the future potential of the systems go the Xbox is almost at its full potential right now, about 90% (in games, graphics and really everything else), while the ps3 is only about 10% of its full potential.

Ps3 is clearly the better choice360. 3 year warranty will sort out any rrod issue. better games like gears of war(way better than resistance fall of man) with no.2 on its way, halo3, bioshock, Call of duty 4, Mass effect, dead rising, gta4 download content coming only to 360, plus many more. Haze has got poor reviews. if you like those sort of games then 360 is definately your machine. Online is much better too and i have tried both. Plus 360 upscales your dvds so det a really good picture when watching films and don't have to pay the price. you can download HD films via online if neccessary.reccomend 360..i have one... 2. just turn off the power all togetherstandby mode because:

You can turn your PS3 on and off with just your controller which means no getting up! this is great because i play while lying in my bed so i dont need to get up before going to sleep if it's late at nightDefinitely the first one. turning any system on and off isn't good. The stand-by mode barely uses any power and it makes it easier to use when you want to turn it on.okay there;s nothing wrong with turning it off?? I don't know what the person above me is saying

Sony lets you get accessories from many different companies even though they need the money more (they lose about $260 per system because they cost more then they sell them for)
For the graphics the Xbox and ps3 are almost exactly the same, for now, the ps3 also looks better on sdtv's, on Xbox you need an hdtv to read the words if you don have an hdtv everything is blurry. For the games currently the Xbox has more but not much more. The ps3 will have more either at the end of this year or by the end of 1st quarter next year. since ps3's bluray disks have 50GB of space and the Xbox only has 9GB on each disk, so the games on the ps3 will be better and it has greater potential for really good games (some multiplatform games have been shorten to fit on the Xbox). Xbox games are not cheaper, they start at $60 just like with the ps3. I wonder why Xbox games are just as expensive as ps3 games, they use last gen technologies and apparently it is easier to make them, it is just Microsoft making a big profit. As far as the future potential of the systems go the Xbox is almost at its full potential right now, about 90% (in games, graphics and really everything else), while the ps3 is only about 10% of its full potential.
