Can i use the ps2 action replay on ps3?

I have a ps3 and i want to use my ps2 action replay max with my ps2 games but will it work on a ps3 console and ps2 game? No it will NOT work. I had an Action Replay for PS2 and when I got my PS3 60gb it didnt work.

I couldn't belive it, if your PS3 can load & play PS2 games then maybe its a possibility it might. but from my understanding if it has a blue back on the disk you can't load them. If you have an original 60GB console then yes you can. I have done this myself for the PS2 game "Gran Turismo 4" and it worked perfectly. It just for some reason takes longer to read than normal PS2 discs. No, because the chances of it loading a ps2 disc on your ps3 will be very slim.

Just because the light flashes doesnt mean it's actively connected to anything.
Mine flash all the time even when my PS3 is turned off. But I have Remote Play enable and remote play bootup active.
If it starts flashing rapidly that will indicate a connection but if it just blinks every now and then that just means it's active and ready for whenever you active you PSP connection to it , there is no way to totally disable/or turnoff the Wireless on a PS3 Cause the PSP is using the PS3's built in wireless.

I've downloaded game updates before and play online all the time. now every time i try to download the game update it signs me out of the playstation network. anyone have a clue why? or know how to fix it? Thank you if you can help! Im not really sure, i heard if you disable media servers then try, its never happened to me. It has to sign you out for certain updates!
It signs you out so you don't recieve messages or get disturbed while the update is taking place.
It can also concentrate more on downloading the update ;)

or does it have to be a real specific hard drive? my friends say that the seagate momentus works really well but i'm not to sure, i want to get more opinions before i make my decision. as long as you get 2.5" SATA with no more than 5400rpm then you should be fine. The original hard drive that comes with the PS3 is a Seagate so if you want a Seagate than go for it. I upgraded mine with a drive form Pine so really any should do. Any hard drive will work as long as it is 2.5" SATA (laptop) hard drive. Brand and speed don't matter. However higher speeds do not result in quicker launch speed of games, etc. All you need is a 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM hard drive. I think you can use a 7200 RPM hard drive, but you do risk overheating. Well its has to be 2.5 in 5400 RPM, if RPM is higher, it will damage system Anyone as long as it is SATA. Get anything over 5400rpm and you could fry your PS3.

easy question... cod5 is ww2, they have grenades that stick and molotovs and frags..tanks, artillery,radar dogs and you can be revived in last stand. (perk in where you get shot down, you lay, unmovable but can fire a pistol)

depends on wat year of warfare you like really CoD 4 was a LOT better in my opinion. I couldn't even get through WaW - it was too frustrating trying to use those raggedy weapons with their outdated targeting sites. The "ring sites" on the rifles in the Medal of Honor (the older ones - not 'Airborne') games used to be dead-on - these are really fuzzy as to where you're actually aiming, and without a scope, it's quite hard to get anything done on WaW - at least to me. I absolutely loved CoD 4, though! COD4 fo sho its the best of the best :)) cod4 i have both and its a lot more fun and its way cheaper COD WAW COD 4 COD 4$? cod 4 COD4 for PS3 COD4 is the best. cod4. cod4 its way better I own it

Does anyone know what has happened to my Playstation 3?

Today my PS3 decided not to work anymore. When I turn it on it goes to the menu screen. Everything works in the menu, but when I put in a game it takes it in and nothing happens on the screen. It just stays in the menu as if I had put nothing in it. I tried several games to see if my game was defective, but it isn't- it does this to all games.
My friend also has a PS3 and he complains of problems with it also. I am beginning to think that this system is a piece of crap.
What is wrong with my Playstation, and how can it be fixed???
FYI- I have this system for about 10 months. My friend system did the same thing to him, when I formatted the HDD it started to load the disc. So I recommend to save your info off your system & format the HDD. If that don't work then I advise you call Sony
PSN:D-Rob92 if it is just happening with ps3 games, then your blu-ray laser has burned out. try other things to see if it works or not. Try a dvd or a cd, if they all work then it's the blu-ray diode. open the ps3 up and clean the lazer.

"Resistance 2 is the first game to fully log-in two PSN accounts. LBP only logs you in locally, and does not register both accounts as online through PSN. This is a big difference, and what is required for split-screen online co-op with other folks."
Here's the smoking gun: "And it was dependent on a Sony update, hence why it wasn't in when the game shipped." If the R2 patch is available on March 26th, then a new PS3 firmware update may be necessary today or tomorrow. It will have to allow for multiple PSN sign-ins, but will it feature any other improvements? Stay tuned. don't listen to anyone..everything at this point is just speculation..noone aside from Sony themselves knows what the next update will have and when it will be released...

Dumb name i know, but there you go. You can watch any video you want, plus hook up a keyboard and mouse. If you buy call of duty, make sure to check out the Playstation store which allows you to buy map packs.( the playstation store is already stored on your PS3 which sends a direct link to it). The most amazing games other than call of duty are Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Metal gear solid 4 and if you want an amazing 3rd person shooter that has no online, get Uncharted, even though it has no online, it’s still an amazing game that’s really fun Resident evil 5 is great. I am getting an 80Gb tomorrow, so i will be able to tell you then if you want, feel free to e-mail me Backward Compatibility (BC) was removed by Sony to cut costs. The newer models don't have BC. The older ones i.e. 60 GB, 20 GB... had BC. The older version had 4 USB ports whereas the newer ones have 2... So it's easy to spot a BC PS3.... 4 USB means BC and 2 means no BC.
You can find BC PS3 at ebay or amazon. The 60 GB version had the 'Emotion Engine' which is the PS2 hardware in it(so played nearly all PS2 games). Whereas 20 GB version had a 'software emulator' (played nearly 60-70% PS2 games). The 40GB NTSC(U.S.) version IS NOT B/C. It was the first system that WASN'T. It was also cheaper then the original/OLD 80GB version. The 20GB, 60GB, OLD 80GB are B/C. The 40 GB New/Current 80 GB and 160 GB AREN'T B/C. Oh and the old 80GB IS compatible(to the one saying oh I think it's an urban legend) because that is the system I have and I have NO PROBLEM with PS2 games. check the best answer on this

On top of that you have to enter Credit Card info in to your "wallet" or put money in it. So if you don't want to pay for things then just remove your CC info. I don't have my CC info in my "wallet" so they aren't going to let me try to download things that aren't free. See how easy it is to avoid the issue. The cost of the item you want to get will be shown on the thumbnail of that item. So if it's free it will say so. It is very clear. Demos are all free. Pictures or wallpapers are free and there are free themes as well, however there are now premium themes which were recently added and you have to pay for those. There is free DLC for some games. Resistance (1) map packs are now free, though they used to cost money when they first came out. The packs for Unreal Tournament 3 are all free, and they basically add a game's worth of content to it. There are some (few) free songs for Guitar Hero and I think there's one for Rock Band. There's more free DLC for some games but you'll have to check it out under add-on content. Things that are free on the PSN will say FREE under the name of the DLC.

Is xbox live the saving grace for Microsoft?

would people put up with failing hardware if it wasn't for Xbox Live? Yeah. Some idiots that Absolutely hate anything other than Xbox, and think that the Wii and PS3 are their blood enemies.

While the RROD's failure rate has often been exxagerated by the community, Microsoft has been fairly consistent with repairs, and while it may take anywhere from seven days to three weeks, it's an efficient repair, and free for anyone who bought it later than March 2006 (at this specific point in time, mind you).
And let's not put the good ol' PS3 above this either. It has had several BD-drive failures, hardware failures, disc drive failures, etc. and Sony hasn't done anything about that, except charge you $150 if you're out of warranty. Most people wouldn't.
But it is also the fact that it is cheaper the one time you buy it. But once you add the accessories (most of which the PS3 has out-of-the-box) like wi fi, controller rechargers, online play, bigger hard drive etc.
Once you add all these things up, the PS3's cost is less than that of the 360. Yes, it's Live.
And exclusives.
And backwards compatibility.
And community.
Controller.
Preference.
Price.

And how do I do it? Game Sharing is like when you have something on the PSN like a PSN game, movies, etc....
And those items that you bought from the PSN could be shared to other PSN users.
The way to do it is to....
First you need someone who is very trustful to send your games, movies, whatever.....
Then your gonna need to send your email and password to that person. So he/she could create a user and an account online (Which is your account.) and then he/she goes to your stuff and download it to straight to his/ her's hard drive. If you buy a game off of PSN, you'll have that game on your downloads list and on your PSN ID. If you give your PSN ID to someone else, they can download that game on their PS3. If you acquire their PSN ID, you can download a game they downloaded on your PS3. Each game can be put on up to 5 PS3's. Obviously, if they wanted to, they could download it on four of theirs (or their buddy's) and screw you over.
NOT A GOOD THING TO DO. It's where you buy a game, someone else logs into your account on another ps3, and downloads it (because you can download it 5 more times for free after you buy it). what update are u on-3.1 3.2... so on.

It's simple to beat him.
What I did was jump down to the ground level and walked into the little part where Sev and Rico entered.
You back into a corner, so when Radec charges are you, you shoot him and then melee him for maybe 2 times.
Repeat this until your objective changes to 'Kill Radec'.
Run up to the first floor and grab the VC32 then just give Radec a headshot.
Be careful because when the objective changes to Kill Radec, Radec will spray an SMG non-stop.
Or you can YouTube it.
I used the shotgun when Radec teleports and tries to knife you.
The SMG, Flamethrower or Grenade Launcher would do fine. Redec

Why cant i get on to playstation home?

it says initialising for ages then stops and says server connection sumin and error D5027 why is this and how do i fix it?? It's currently down for maintenance. Should be back on shortly. mine does that frequently to, usually after you download the latest update. Try turning off your ps3 (the switch on the back also) leave for 5 seconds or so then try getting on to pshome again, keep trying most the time it works after a few trys. hope that helps! It not the disks problem its just that the ps2 has a crappy dvd player but if you run a disk cleaner in it once a month it should work alright. Please put in the form of a REAL, LOGICAL question.

I'll explain. You get a Blu-ray player, which might not be big for you now but like it or not, that's where things are heading. Do you see VHSs anywhere? DVDs will soon see that fate.
Online is free, if you are into that. I personally don't care about online gaming but where it does effect me are with demos. Some Xbox Live demos require the subscription while none for PS3 do. There's built in WiFi and a bigger hard drive as well.
As for games, yes 360 does have Halo 3 but personally, when ranking the top games that are exclusives, Halo 3 comes in at number three at best behind Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet. GTA4 has exclusive DLC for 360 but more than likely it will make it's way to PS3 sometime. Fable 2 (Xbox 360) was something I was really excited about but honestly it was a flop for me.
Anyway, in the short term, and even long term PS3 is probably the way to go. I like having both because I don't have to worry about exclusives but when it comes to picking a game to play on one or the other, the PS3 version is what I always pick.
PS3 makes a lot less noise as well. well, this is your choice but if you want my opinion i say the PS3 because it had killing graphics and it doesn't brake down a s easily as the X360. The X360 breaks down and has lots of problems. Plus, you can do much more with the PS3.

The answer to this will be determined by how long is the distance between your source and display. If it is more than 15 feet you should seriously consider using an HDMI ver 1.3 (don't worry about a, b or c as these are only testing protocols) "high speed" cable. If it is less than 15 feet a "standard" cable should be ok. make sure that you buy from a reputable source as there are a lot of counterfeit cables being sold at the moment. You also need to ensure that the cable has the HDMI logo and version 1.3 marked on the packaging.
The last thing that you should consider is choosing a cable with gold plated connectors. This will not improve your signal but they will not corrode (particularly in coastal or high humidity locations) which will stop the signal degrading over time.
Remember that you can never improve a digital signal by using an expensive cable but you can degrade a signal by using an inferior cable. You will see this degradation as sparkles and pixellation particularly in dark scenes. None. Don't let any salesmen trick you into getting the most expensive HDMI cord. Any will do. A $10 one or an $80 will offer the exact same stuff. The only thing you may have to worry about is reliability.

Don't get ripped off with those 80 dollar monster cables. Quality will be the same, trust me. I've worked with these things for years. How do you know whats the lead console for this games. Also how do you know the same for other games? Unless the developer says so, there's usually no way to tell which one is the lead console. Sometimes you can tell if a game happens to work better on once console over the others -- the console it works best on was probably the lead.

On the PS3 controller it has 4 red spots to indicate the battery level?

when i shut ps3 down for the night i wake up and turn it on and the controller is set at 2 and never works playing games. I have to keep restoring my Ps3 defaults to get it to work any one have ideas? If you have something plugged into the PS3 when you shut it down then it gets assigned slot number 1. Rock band instruments count for this. So your controller gets assigned number two when the machine starts up, cause something else is plugged in. Unplug that other thing when you turn the system on, then when you turn the controller on, it will have slot one.
Other than that, youll just have to keep assigning slot one to it manually. Those 4 red lights determine what # controller you're using. Only # 1 will control the functions. Try your other controller. Thats my guess. The red buttons indicate what player you are if your the first light your player one and it goes all the way to player 4 You need to go to the controller settings and assign it to Port 1...give that a try! hold the PS button on controller and u will see controller settings... change it to player one and ur good to go

For the muppet that keeps voting everyone down: got any better ideas? I don't think killing sends it to 6 STARS i think the only thing possible is to agree with leaving the area. Well firstly, kill loads of people to about 4/5 stars then attempt the leave. I think it's pretty stupid doing this though. depends on what part of the game you're at but steal a tank and start blowing things up that works well.

What PS3 hard drive should I get?

I'm out of storage space on my 40GB PS3 and I want to get a new internal hard drive. I'm going to backup my data on external storage. Then I'm going to put a new hard drive in but I don't know what kind. Can someone give me a link to the right kind of internal hard drive. I would like it to be under 150$ and around 200-500 GB. Preferably a link to a harddrive on Bestbuy.com The new drive needs to be a 2.5" SATA (sometimes called Serial ATA) 5400rpm drive. These types of hard drives are common in laptop computers. Note that you could get a 7200 rpm drive but it would mostly be a waste of money in a PS3. I would get the biggest drive, in term of gigabytes, that my budget would allow.
I have a Hitachi 250gb drive in mine that I bought at Best Buy. It formatted out to 232gb and I've already used almost 70gb with game installs, saves, and downloads from the PS Store. If you can get something even bigger ... go for it.
Check You Tube if you need help or instruction with the swap. It's really easy. Be sure and use a quality, well fitting, screwdriver when you do it. In my opinion the cheap eyeglass screwdrivers most of the videos show being used are junk. I bought a set of electronics screwdrivers from Radio Shack for about $6 that worked really well. 40gb is too small, trust me.

It cant be that expensive so should i buy the 20gb, 60gb, 80gb, and how much do those three cost? The 20 and 60GB models aren't sold anymore. The 80GB model is $400 and the 160GB model is $500 and also comes with Drake's Fortune. Neither model can play PS2 games.
There are strong rumors of a price drop occurring within the next month or 2, so you may want to wait a bit longer.
Should you buy one? That depends... If you're interested in some games, and watching Blu-ray movies then get the PS3.
If you're only interested in playing games, then a 360 Pro may be a better buy since it's cheaper, has the same graphics, plays most of the same games, but has a larger and better (IMHO) library of exclusive games. You should buy the one with the smallest sized hard drive you can find and replace the hard drive.

How to hook PS3 to my surround sound and HDTV?

my ps3 just came in earlier by mail and just got off work so i haven't opened the box yet. so how would i connect my ps3 to my onkyo receiver and my hdtv using hdmi?

is that the correct way with hdmi? Connect the PS3 to the Onkyo using DVD input. Connect the RCVR to the TV using HDMI OUT.
On the PS3, go to settings,change audio from bitstream to LPCM. This way, your PS3 will do the decoding of the HD Audio formats. read the instructions when mine came it told me how to do it all

I know what you're talking about. It's the noise in the game not on the PS3, right. I hear it too. It's like a taxi cab meter rolling from time to time...hahahaha. I guess it's just an internet or server connection related noise. Nothing to worry about. Were you in or near the new XI space? Because for some stupid reason the home staff thought it would be cool to add a backgroundd song to a space, but one that can be completely annoying at times. It has randomly appeared for me when I am in the XI space. It truly is annoying and wish it wasn't there. Are you talking about a clunking money kind of sound?

re5 metal gear top game makers who do u think is better name a few games and something about why it is so good Metal Gear Solid beats Resident Evil, no question. It beats it down and kicks it around the block in front of its family and friends, then pees on it. Though they both have well-made stories and weird controls, Metal Gear's weird controls are responsive and the game has class. Resident Evil is just like playing a combat game where you are handicapped by a half-second delay in all your actions.

The best game maker of them all is still SCEA. They are responsible for the true legends like gran turismo, and god of war. I don't think Konami or Capcom has ever partnered with SCEA on any games.
If the xbox360 were to get Ubisoft, I would laugh at all the poor xbox owners for getting the absolute worst video game maker in the world as an exclusive developer. Ubisoft's latest turkey, Hawx, defies description and common sense. Most air combat games that aren't flight sims say they are arcade games straight up. Hawx pretends to be a flight sim, even though it's more arcade than Ace Combat was. It's as arcade as that Red Baron mini-game, and the Red Bull Air Race. If Tom Clancy goes to xbox, I won't miss him, it will mean more room for quality games to sell on ps3.
And rock star still just mainly makes grand theft auto, another hugely overrated game. I have hated GTA ever since it lost its sense of humor, the last good one was GTA2; after that it was just gangbang this, gangbang that. Like the movie Scarface. I won't play a game if I don't like the main character. GTA2 was good cause it was funny. the radio stations were full of funny soundtracks. The neighborhoods were run by gangs like the Loonies, the Russians, and the Rednecks, who lived in a massive trailer park. That's 1st-class game design and the GTA's 3 and GTA 4 can't measure up to it. So Take-two can go to 360 too, for all I care. Only good rockstar game I ever owned is Smuggler's run.
Ubisoft may be releasing IL-2 sturmovik on ps3 in the future, but it's not their game, it was made by a russian company, Maddox games. They just stamp their name on it and publish it.

I don't have a PS3 but I have a PSP with CFW 3.71m33-3. I'm trying to play Resistance Retribution online but it says that I need a PSN account. Am I screwed? You need to make a PSN account. this is the first game i ever played online(i never played a game online before)i was playing and i noticed the matches are VERY short.im talking less than 5 minutes.is it because i am new and i need to rank up or sumthing?or is there a way to increase the time limit?if so how??
p.s. my PSN is Da_iLLeST_n00b (the o are zeros if u were wondering) The matches online vary in length. It depends on the person who created it to set the length of each objective (ex. Body count, search & retrieve, assassination etc). Matches can go from 5 minutes to 2 hours. If you don't understand, or need more info, email me: baga2715@yahoo.com it means your entering games that are only that long. if you enter a game that is only body count, chances are it wil only be 5 minutes long. some people like to make them longer (half hour) with more kills needed to win, but not always. go into a game that has all 5 matches set up (body count, search and destroy etc etc.). depending on the set scores, those games last at least half an hour no...your playing single category games...so basically its only capture the flag or whatever...some matches have different scenarios built into it...so instead of playing 1 match leaving and playing another....all matches are built in and you play different scenarios in one game such as CTF then Assassination then King of the hill etc etc It depends on the host of the game. He/she can set the time limit anywhere from 5 min to 120 min. Try to find a game with high ranking players because they usually set their time to be longer. If you cant find a longer game, host your own game. yeha you were playing a 5 minute bodycount they just do that for people to get the 50 wins trophy but go to a full 30min warzone thats long just go to the game where all the circles are filled Killzone 1 matches were pretty long. If you don't like the length, set up your own.

Sounds like you'll have to borrow a friend's or something. yeah for that part you need sixaxis...unfortunately there isnt a disable sixaxis function in the game....

Is it free, as in you can play online for free, or do you have to pay extra, like on XBox Live? OF COURSE!~ that's one of the main reasons which makes ps3 worth buying! from demos to wallpapers, chatting, online play, etc!
But some features such as downloading Add-ons requires a Fee. But don't worry there are many options in purchasing them, one of which is a playstation card from 5-10$ which can be purchased on mostly any electronic shop!
or you can also use a cred it card which is a little bit complicated and frustrating lol, so I recommend you use the card (if you're planning on buying stuff online). mostly everything on playstation is free. Making an account is free, playing online is free. playstation home is free ( the clothes are not free you have to buy them ) Every demo game on Playstation store is free. ps3 has some nice exclusives coming out this year when it comes to games and exclusives then yeah the ps3 wins this year
but if you are talking about console sales this year i think no because people still think the 360 is cheaper , the only way i can see ps3 selling more consoles than the 360 this year would be by a price drop More people buy the Wii because it's cheap & fun & most ppl get it for their younger kids who tend to get what they want. The Xbox sells more than PS3 because it is cheaper & there are zillions of Halo fans, plus some other games they have exclusively to them. I personally am a Sony fan, although I own all the consoles of each brand. I like the different genre choices in games...I don't always want to play Socom. Sometimes I like to mindlessly play Lumines, etc. Plus there are lots of choices for yonger kids also. More than xbox. Overall, no. The Wii is litterally at a point where it could stop being bought COMPLETELY, and still be number 1 by the time the PS3 dies.
In the race for second place, it is CERTAINLY possible for an upset to take place.Currently, it's only trailing by 8 million units. And at this point, we don't have any HUGE exclusives coming to the 360 this year (Mass Effect 2 is in 2010). However, that could ALL CHANGE at E3, so don't make any decisions yet.
The Blu-Ray player is also going to be a driving factor. It's slowly looking like it may really take over DVD, so people may be considering making that leap, using the PS3 as a bridge, since it also has other features. (However, the 360 has Netflix streaming, so it's also a choice consumers must make.).
Finally, since the economy is down, people may be weary to buy a console, much less the most expensive one on the market.
My prediction? By the end of the year, the Wii has passed 50 million, and is still number one. 360 is in second place, but the PS3 has now made it a neck and neck competition. It's really gonna come down to what Microsoft has at E3, and planned for the holiday season. I'm pretty sure it will win. Wii is more of a kids gaming console. When it comes to 360 and PS, then that's the real competition. PS is getting a bunch of exclusives this year. With Killzone already out, its sure to have got up there in the console war. Then later, God of War III, inFAMOUS, Uncharted, and some more. xbox 360 is the best online the PS3 is not very good online and you cannot buy the little Microsoft points at the story like the 360 or the year cards to play online and i think the PS3 has no chance to win and the PS2 is the only think that keeps the PS3 from going under I don't think Sony cares if PS3 outsales Xbox or not. Sony just want to make a profit of it's sales. If the company makes more profit per sale then Microsoft then Sony has won. but do you think it'll come out for ps3 the 3 one? PS3 already have Metal Gear Solid. They don't need Gears of War. Microsoft and Sony tend to cling to their exclusives as tightly as possible. Even though some have gone multiplatform like Devil May Cry 4 and Final Fantasy 13, exclusives are what give a system its edge. I am sure Microsoft will drop a lot of money to keep Gears of War on their system, just as Sony viciously defends the rights to Metal Gear 4 and God of War 3.
But, its always possible it will go multi-platform, only time can tell. nope after gears of war 2 the 360 can have that franchise disappointed there was only one thing in that entire game that made go Holy Shi@ that was fing awesome but you didnt even get to play with that toy for that long, plus the ending was lame.
