Playstation games for rent?

May be...
  • I'm getting my first PS3, I notice that at video rental stores they have games for rent.Does this mean you rent the game and have it for one day and then that's it? Does the PS3 come with any games at all?
  • The PS3 does not unless you buy it in a bundle. Usually games for rent are 1 week.
  • Dude, game rentals has been going on since forever, even before PS3 (have you heard about Blockbuster Video?) It's not for 1 day... 1 week at least. It's about $9/week. There's also game trade-ins and you can also buy second hand games. PS3 comes with games if you buy a bundled deal.

  • Can I download PlayStation Network games onto a flash-drive and then transfer them to my PS3?

    May be...
  • Yes but you would have to download them to a PS3 and then put it onto a flash drive. Maybe a friend will let you use theirs.
  • there is no option to download PS3 games on PC. The PS Store is only on PS3 internet browser.
  • nope.
  • download them on the ps3
  • Killzone 2 trade question?

    May be...
  • I really liked Killzone 2 but after a month of playing it i got bored of it and i have not even touched it in almost a month so i was thinking of trading it for MLB the Show

anybody knows any stores that actually trade games in Texas or any legit sites i could use to trade games?
  • C.O.D . N.E.R.D
  • if you go in Gamestop. You can trade it in for MLB09 the Show. But I think you will have to pay an extra 30$.

    Or use craiglist.com

Sign up and go to the electronic section and post an ads their. about trading killzone 2 for Mlb 09 or get the money i would say 40$ then use the 40$ to buy mlb09 the show. but you need 25 more $
  • Um...wow in texas?

No, but i reckon you could sell it pretty well on ebay?

Use that money to buy the other game...it's longer but I reckon it'd sell well on ebay.

Here in the Uk we have tons of game exchange shops but I dunno about Texas...

My friend Toby would probably know...

he lives in Austen I think....

I'm sorry buhh I can't help much more than that....

    .........................................

You really got bored of it?

I dunno i really like it buhh....

to be fair i haven't actually played it in a while....

    Sorry...

    Olivia,

  • You didn't enjoy the online play. I just bought this game last friday and the game is amazing. The graphics are out of this world. Don't trade it in keep playing the online the more the merrier.

I think you have game stop there we have them all over in florida and they are nationwide. They take games for trade.
  • Try gamestop and see. They will give $15 worth if you trade in
  • http://www.tradegamesnow.com/homepage.cf...
  • Best Website to Buy Used, refurbished, and New Sony PS3?

    May be...
  • if it was used or refurbished i'd go with Ebay, remember to check the sellers feedback before making a bid and to ask about the condition if they dont alraedy state it, ie scratches and what has been repaired (if its a refurbished model). I'd aslo ask to see pics of it if there arent any included. If your after a new one, i really wouldnt use Ebay, best to stick to a recognised retailer as your covered by their warranty should anything go wrong with it, do a online price search to see which online retailers have the best prices, last i heard Amazon were selling them pretty reasonable.

    www.ebgames.com (Electronic Boutique)
  • ebay, everyone`s doing it
  • ebay. I trust it
  • ebay
  • Amazon for new PS3s (free shipping and no tax).
  • Does PS3 play all PS1 and PS2 games, or at least these?

    May be...
  • I am thinking of buying a Playstation 3 and was wondering if it would play my old PS1 games. Most of them i probably wouldnt use but some I know i definitely will. Do you know if it will play these:

    Jet Moto

    Twisted Metal 2

    Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles

    2 Xtreme

    Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2
  • oh for god's sake. the 40GB and the 160GB do NOT now, nor did they EVER play PS2 games!!!!!!!! end of story!!!!

I take it I'm going to be answering this question forever too:

backward compatibility for the PS3 with PS2 games is as follows:

20GB (4 USB slots, no longer in production) - yes

60GB (4 USB slots, no longer in production) - yes

80GB with 4 USB slots (no longer in production, bundled with MGS4 or Motor Storm) - yes

40GB (2 USB slots, no longer in production) - NO

    80GB with 2 USB slots - NO

    160GB (2 USB slots) - NO

any other up coming PS3's - NO

in short: if it has 4 USB slots, yes. if it has 2 USB slots, no.

    all PS3s play PS1 games.

the download that others refer to is for backwards compatible PS3s ONLY!!!!!!!!!!! a download will NOT make a non-backwards compatible PS3 play PS2 games. PERIOD!

"If a PLAYSTATION 3 is not backward compatible, you will not be able to add this function through any hardware (i.e., changing the hard disk drive) or software (i.e., updates, homebrew) upgrades or modifications. "

that came DIRECTLY from Sony's own website: http://playstation.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/...

if you find a used 4 USB port PS3 and want to know if/how your PS2 games play on that PS3, use this site: http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/Co...
  • All PS3 models should play PS1 games as long as they are in good working order (the system and games). PS3's do NOT play PS2 games, except for the 60 GB models and the earlier 80GB models (the ones that included Motorstorm or Metal Gear Solid 4).

But to answer your question specifically, yes, all the PS1 games you mentioned should play on a PS3.
  • Simply no, PS2 games can't be played anymore. The PS games will play, but not every game
  • The PS3 WILL play PS1 games, but sadly right now the new PS3s cant play PS2 games. BUT if you get an original 60 GB one off the internet, then you can play PS2 games.
  • All Ps3's can play PS1 games. But only 60 and 80 gig with 4 USB ports can play PS2 games. The 40, new 80 with 2 USB ports, and 160 gigs can't play any ps2 games.
  • 60GB and 80GB with 4 USB ports can play all PS1 and PS2 games.
  • only the 80gb and i tihnk the 160gb ps3 can play ps1 and ps2 games
  • Just to add, the PS3 may not play all PS1 games flawlessley.
  • my 80 giga PS3 can`t play, don`t know why

    PS3 HDMI No Speech Audio?

    May be...
  • I have my PS3 hooked up to a HDTV Using an HDMI 1.3b cable and in both blu ray movies and games all sound effects are there but there's no speech audio, how do I fix this?
  • Thats very odd! Sounds like you have the audio set to output in multi channel. First off, turn the PS3 off and then on again (at the plug preferably) and then if that doesn't work take the HDMI cable out of the TV and the PS3 and plug it in and make sure its securely in. If this doesn't work then try looking around for a 2 channel stereo setting on the PS3 audio options and if that doesn't work try setting it to linear PCM.

    Hope this helped!
  • I don't know if you tried this, but I will tell you.

    On the XMB, go to

Settings; Display Settings; and choose Video Output Settings.

    - Click Video Output Settings.

    - Choose HDMI

    - Choose Custom

    - Tick all of the boxes - Only the ones that your TV supports.

    - Move on and the PS3 will test the settings. Screen will go blank and return.

    - Press X to save settings.

    - When it has finished saving the video settings, choose "Set Audio Output Settings"

    - Choose HDMI

    - Choose Manual

    - Tick the boxes that your TV can support and move on and save settings.

Tip: If you aren't sure which ones your TV supports, go back and choose Automatic and then Press Enter to save settings.

If it fails, call Sony. If its a particular game, then maybe a patch is needed for that game.
  • Question about ps3 video 9?

    May be...
  • i like the converter for the ps3 videos, but is there any other program that can do more than 1 file at a time? i use an external hard drive to watch videos on my ps3.
  • dude, movie conversion is a big task for a a regular PC. You have to get the real movie pirating machine to do that. you may find a multi-converter program, but doing it all at the same time will also take the same amount of time. it will take longer.. like if you convert 1 movie in 15mins, it will still take 30 mins for 2 movies being converted at the same time.
  • That would take a very powerful program and a PC with tons of ram.
  • Where can I find all types of accessories for my PS3?

    May be...
  • For example, I need a power adapter that bends 90* or that can rotate 180*. The standard stuff takes up a lot of room in the back of my component.
  • Do you mean this?

    http://www.pcpartscollection.com/powcoru...

    Or this;

    http://www.trianglecables.com/power-r-06...
  • looks to me that your PS3 is in a very tight and crampy place... without enough room to breathe, your PS3 will overheat and get the yellow light of death.. the space you need for cables in the back is the minimum space you need for your PS3 to have enough room to breathe and prevent overheating.
  • I dont think they sell that...
  • Can this PS3 be made backwards compatible?

    May be...
  • I thought about going and buying a PS3 for my husband as a surprise, but I want to make sure I get the right one. The dude at Best Buy was absolutely no help at all.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...

I read the specs but I just want to confirm... this model has a memory card slot in the front, has built-in WiFi, and can become backwards compatible by downloading a file from the PlayStation network, right?

What else would I need besides the actual PS3? I know I'd need an HDMI cable, and another controller, but is there anything else? It has a hard drive, which means I don't need a memory card, right?

Would you recommend an extended warranty and does anyone know how much they are at Best Buy?
  • First of all, you were correct that the model your brother has is the only 80GB one that has BC, but the 60GB and 20GB ones also have BC.

There is no file in the PSN that lets you have BC. Nothing lets you bring BC to a non BC PS3. Only option you have is to get a PS2 for 100$.

The 60GB one is the best PS3 out of all models, since it plays 99% of all PS2 games. The 80GB one your brother has can play about 75% of all PS2 games.

The rumor about a price drop in April was false, just like I predicted. Sony has denied all of the rumors about a price drop that is coming soon. Today is April 30, so there is no chance that a price drop will occur. If you are really hoping for a price drop, you should wait until this X-Mas, since that is when everything has sales, price drops, bundles, etc.

There is no memory card reader, but you don't really need that. Don't worry. You can just transfer your data (music, pictures, videos, etc.) by using a flash drive.

You don't need an HDMI cable. Just so you know, you can only use the HDMI cable if you have an HD TV. Also, even if you do have an HD TV, you don't have to get the HDMI cable. That cable is not necessary for anything. It's just going to show better graphics (as long as you have an HD TV), otherwise you won't even find a place to connect it to.

I'd recommend getting that cable if you have an HD TV, but again, you don't have to have it. You can use the PS3 with the cables that come in the box.

It does have a hard drive, you don't need a memory card. 80GB is plenty of memory, and even if you do run out, you can always upgrade later.

I don't think that the extended warranty is required of you, unless you really want to be 100% sure. If you take good care of it, put it in the right place, you'll be fine.

I think the extended warranty at Best Buy is something around 50$, but I'm not sure.
  • I know its not BC for ps2 games... cause sony stopped doing that to make the consoles cheaper.....yeah the ps3 is all you need.. if you have an HD tv.. get an HDMI cord.... and if you like to play too get another controller...

I believe sony give you a warranty... but IDK anything about best buys warranty
  • http://playstation.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/...

Sorry, it was just three models which are no longer in production.
  • only the 60gb is backwards compatible meaning it will play PS3 games but the 80gb won't. And yes the only thing you will need is HDMI cable for TV and your good to go. oh and the games...
  • As of September 2008, all models of PS3 for sale in stores are NOT backwards compatible with PS2 games.

The last model of PS3 that was backwards compatible was the 80GB model that was included in the MGS4 bundle. That bundle has long since sold out, and no more will be made. All current 80GB PS3s are NOT backwards compatible.

There is currently no way to make them backwards compatible, and it is highly unlikely that Sony will ever produce another PS3 that is backwards compatible.

Since all PS3s come with an internal hard drive, there is no need for a memory card. If you do need to move things from one PS3 to another, you can just use a standard USB memory key.

If you have a HDTV, you will want to buy a HDMI cable. Don't spend a lot of money on the cable. Anything over $15 is just a ripoff and won't give you any better performance.

You'll also need games, since the PS3 doesn't come with any. Or just let your husband go shopping for these later on.

As for the price, $399 is the current price of the 80GB PS3 and hasn't changed for over a year. There are rumors Sony will announce a price drop in the next month or so, but there's nothing definite.
  • If You Buy The Ps3 At Best Buy You'd Probably Get The Most Recent Models. The Most Recent Models Aren't Backward Compatible, They Took It Off A While A Go Not Even By Downloading A Files Off Of Playstation Network Will Work (They Took Off The Hardware And Software Emulation Required To Play PS2 Games) . Also I'm Pretty Sure They No Longer Have The Card Readers But I Might Be Mistaken About This Part.

You Pretty Have Everything You Need To Get The Ps3 Started, All Game Saves Are Stored In The Hard Drive So Yes, No Memory Card Needed. You Can Get A Better Sound System But Not A Necessity, Just Better Game Play.

The Extended Warranty Is Ultimately Up To You, The Prices For The Plan Fluctuate According To Price (The Bigger The Price Of Product Bigger Price For Plan). I Would Get The Plan JUst In Case Something Unexpected Happens To It.

The 20gb, 60gb, And SOME 80gb PS3 Are Backward Compatible But They Are Old And Out Of Production, And Are Usually Sold By Gamestop Or Ebay (Used). But Recently None Are Backward Compatible (The Newer Models), There IS NO WAY To Make Them Backward Compatible.
  • The PS3 you are showing us doesn't have backwards compatibility or the card readers. It has 2 USB ports and that is it. Sony got rid of the memory card reader, backwards support for PS2 format disks and took away the shinier chrome trim just to lower the price and because manufacturing costs were high.

It does however, have Wi-Fi built in. Memory card ports aren't on the PS3. If you want to transfer your PS2 game saves to your PS3, you need an adaptor for it.

Yeah, the HDD (Hard Drive) is already included. Memory cards are old, so you won't need it for the PS3.

Downloading a file from the PlayStationStore (You called it PlayStationNetwork) won't make your PS3 backwards compatible. It needs an emulator built into the PS3 to do that..
  • That one sorry dude it doesn't have BC. And no the price drop is a possible rumor, Sony hasn't confirmed a drop yet. Anyway yes its 399.99 and it doesn't have backwards compatiability. Yea get the extended warranty cause it goes up to like a year or something meaning 363 days of working and on the 364 day you can take it back if it doesn't work. You would need games(obviously) and HDMI cable for high def you really don't need a extra controller unless you wanna play with him. and one more yea with the hard drive you don't need a memory card but make sure you have something to back it up with. If your husband ever turns it off while its saving youll have to delete the hard drive. But you can back it up see more in the instruction manual when you get it
  • no non-backwards compatible PS3 can be made to play PS2 games period. specs don't matter, it will NOT play them and cannot be made to do so.

so wrong. that download is for PS3s that ARE backwards compatible to being with. a download is NOT Going to make it play PS2 games. look for a 20GB, 60GB, or an old 80GB (all 3 have 4 USB slots). those are they ONLY systems that will ever play PS2 games.

    all PS3s play PS1 games.

the Metal Gear Solid bundle AND the Motorstorm bundle are the only 80GB PS3s that will play PS2 games. other than that, it's like I said...20GB, 60GB, old 80GB (any system that has 4 USB ports).

the price drop on the PS3 was a RUMOR. the price drop was actually on the PS2.
  • PS3 resident evil 5 trophy question?

    May be...
  • I'm really close to beating resident evil 5 on pro mode and got every trophy besides the one you get for beating the game on pro mode. My friend has 96 percent on RE5 in trophies and i asked him if you got it from just the single player or howd he get it and he said you need all the trophies outside the versus mode. Is this true?
  • yea u do

    damn 96% i only got 67%
  • You need verses mode for the DLC trophies, as in if you have online then you automatically have to get all trophhies from online. For example, a trophy is play one verses mode game online. You need every trophy outside of verses and in.
  • How many seasons are there in Grid?

Ps3 Game Recommendations (Best Graphics & Gameplay)?

    May be...
  • Gameplay)?

    Hi!

I am going to buy a Playstation 3 and i am thinking of what games to buy. I have managed to narrow down my 5 favourite and i would like you to select the 2 best out of this list by graphics and gameplay also could you give me a rating for each game for graphics and gameplay e.g Fifa 09- Graphics 8/10 Gameplay 8/10

    Heres the list

    Gran Turismo 5

    Burnout Paradise

    Need For Speed: Undercover

    Need For Speed: Pro Street

    Thank You!
  • they were all awful games
  • http://answeringonly.allnight.n

http://http://A very informative wezbsite, kindlhtt:/z y stay a minute in website and enter you email address for getting your answer.zz
  • Burnout is a must buy... Get the ultimate box version. It is the best racing game till date. The other game you must buy is GT5 (note it's only a demo... the full game will be released late this year or early next).. but the demo is bigger than most games out in the market!!!

I hate the other 2. Trust me... both suck in front of the above 2. Fifa 09 is awesome if you are a football fan. The 2 NFS games are a disgrace to the NFS title. Seriously if the guys don't know how to make a game then they should scrap the series.

Burnout: Gameplay-9.5 Graphics- 9 (the crashes in slo-mo simply looks awesome... and the destruction in open world is great)

GT5-Prologue:Gameplay-9.0 (cause the cars show no damage) Graphics- 10 (it's a demo, but GT series games are known to have awesome graphics and realistic gameplay... When the game comes out, it will be the best racing game)

Fifa 09: Gameplay-9 Graphics-9 (solid football game.. must buy if you are a Fifa fan)

    NFS:UC Gameplay-7 Graphics-5 (ugly!!!)

NFS:PS Gameplay- (-infinity) Graphics- 4 (even more uglier... the game doesn't even feature cop chases which is a hallmark of NFS... Stay away from this one if you are smart)

I would suggest getting Burnout: Ultimate Box and Fifa (just to add a little difference as GT5 will also be a racing game). Buy GT5 when the actual game comes out.

EDIT: Oh.. I have considered Fifa09 in the list as well as you have mentioned only 4 games.... If no Fifa, then get GT5.
  • Fallout 3 or Uncharted for the PS3?

    May be...
  • Im wondering which one is a better rpg.
  • I would say Fallout 3 if you are looking for an RPG because uncharted isnt really one. It is more of an action adventure, a lot like the tomb raider series. Fallout 3 is the much longer and much beter game in my opinion anyway :)
  • Uncharted isn't an RPG but if you want an RPG get Fallout 3, if you want an action game get Uncharted
  • Man I can't believe you don't know UN CHANTED Is Da best

    It rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
  • Does the PS2 (slim) read CD-ROM's?

    May be...
  • ok. so i sold my fat ps2 about an hour ago, i'm getting a slim version ps2.

    here's why

Marvel vs. Capcom stopped working and i was told that the big ps2 doesn't read cd-roms (discs with the blue data side)

so, does the slim version read blue discs
  • yes it can! I have many games with the blue or black color disk and they play just fine on the ps2 slim
  • I have grand theft auto san andreas greatest hit for ps2?

    May be...
  • please help!!

How to I get to the rest of the main story Mission? so can complete the game

    I would love best answer
  • Is it possible to transfer data wirelessly between your PS3 and your computer?

    May be...
  • Media files primarly, like .avi or .mp3 and such...
  • Yup... It's called Media sharing (you can see it in the XMB over ever section (music, videos...)). You can transfer movies,music,photos... from your PC/Mac to you PS3 via a local network.

There are various Free softwares available for this... like Twonky, Java PS3 media server... and many more (go to below link to know more about all software and features).

    May be...
  • which object comes close to the sun but is also found far from the sun in a highly elliptical orbit?

  • Pluto has an elliptical orbit but it doesn't go close to the Sun. Probably an Asteroid but it might be a specific one

  • Need some help so I can save up.
  • UFC09

    Fight Night 4

    Maybe Madden 2010

Uncharted, But that in the fall. and that all
  • Infamous is a sure shot buy as I will also be able to play Uncharted 2 beta multi-player which will come with it. Will pre-order it at best buy....

I am really confused between Red Fraction Guerrilla and Batman... I might go with RFG as I downloaded the demo yesterday off PSN and I have never had so much fun destroying things in my life... When the developers said that you can destroy anything... I laughed and said even Bad company promised but failed... But the developers were surely not kidding. The game looks awesome and the destruction is simply sweet!!! You can virtually destroy ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. RFG will be another game I will buy this summer.
  • YES, if you want to save, dont buy anything until october or november

Buy Bioshock 2, Uncharted 2 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Its too early for me to remember the rest.
  • Crap I had a list, but I don't know where it went.. in the summer there's not too many I don't think, besides Fat Princess. The rest are probably in the fall, like Uncharted 2, GOW III, MAG, there are quite a few more that I can't remember
  • the new Ratchet and Clank looks good
  • Do you think its ok to play online multiplayer on the PS3 if you have a download speed of 500kbps - 1.8mbps?

    May be...
  • if you say i wont lag, just say I wont. If it does lag, how laggy do you think it will be, and will it still be enough to have fun with?
  • lol... seriously mine's even a crappier connection and while playing Killzone 2 the game hardly ever lags. PS3 games work off dedicated servers... so the speed is really good. At 500KBPS, you will hardly ever lag in my opinion. I have 30KBPS download speed (256KBPS max)... and mine has never lagged in Killzone 2. I don't know about other games, but I asked the same question a while back (see below link) and all said that the games work fine.

Just test it out. It should be ok. Even I was skeptical like you before (just see my download speed... it's hilarious..) But still the games work really well. You should have no problems.
  • You shouldn't lag much, I have the same speed and I rarely lag. The only instances you may lag are when playing with a very high amount of people (around 40) or in servers very far away from where you live. However, when you host a game through your own servers, you are unlikely to be able to have many people playing, but on other servers, you should be fine.
  • It probably will lag depends on the speed that you get from your internet company. But you can control how fast you want to download on the computer.(if your downloading on your computer)

If you turn down the speed on the download.
  • No, that's fine. That's plenty of bandwidth for gaming with little lag. You should also check your packet time - how long it takes for a packet to go from you to the servers.
  • yeah its ok to play i have the same download speed and the game doesn't lag at all it plays perfectly fine
  • You should be fine. Why are you asking? Test it out.
  • Are these any good for ps3? worth to buy?

    May be...
  • fdaallout 3 killz zone 2 resistance and mention any other games that would be worth my money i got cod5 already
  • yeah they are except i think you should get killzone 2 on a price drop i mean its great but not worth all that hold off on that but the others are great
  • killzone2 and resistance are amazing
  • You really need to get Un chanted it is the best game known to man.
  • Putting songs, video, pictures on psp problem?

    May be...
  • I know how to do it and everything the thing is sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't like just now i could put a song in and it worked and then i tried another song and it didn't work and yeah they are all in mp3 format

My guess is there is probably wrong with the USB cable

    Any ideas?
  • might be memory card, if you can format it
  • When upgrading the harddrive on a playstation 3 how big can i go?

    May be...
  • okay, so i bought a new 80gb sony playstation 3 and am ready to upgrade my harddrive, wich they let you do unlike the 360.

i know what style and kind to get, my question is, how large can i go in disc space? ive seen a lot of people stop at 320 or so. but i have also seen many 500gb people. so how large CAN i go, and how large SHOULD i go?
  • 500GB for now is the biggest available in a 2.5 SATA. You might as well get a 500 spend the little extra cash. Because you don't know what's in store for the ps3 and the way technology goes I'm sure sony will roll out with bigger programs and games that will need larger installations so its better to have and never need then to need and not have.

I'm sure at some point there will be bigger harddrives available but right now 500 is the limit. With that amount of space you could download tons of movies from the psn store and never have to mess with dvds again just turn on your ps3 and play your movie. You could do the same with music and pictures too.
  • people put up to 1tb on theres but it 3.5 size its to big to fit in the ps3. so they connect with it outside. but for the one to fit the ps3 2.5 size the max i think is 500. http://media.photobucket.com/image/3.5%2...
  • I hear 500 GB is the biggest available.

Go as large as you can afford. Anything past 160 GB will take you years to fill up.
  • 1000GB just make sure its a 2.5" hard drive and has 5400RPM
  • I want to buy a PS2 game. Which one should I buy?

God of war 1 or 2

    Metal gear solid subsistence
  • one of the best games of all time for the ps2 is the star wars battlefront series. even if you don't like star wars it requires no prior knowledge of the movies, however it offers some of the best multiplayer experiences on the system, and at under 20 bucks it one you cant pass up
  • Shadow of the Colossus, it is arguably the best PS2 game ever made.

    Look it up on IGN.

  • Does PS2 Discs work With PS3 ?

    May be...
  • Hi

I have PS3 with two USB ports

    can ps2 discs work with PS3 ?

and should it be original ?

coz my ps2 discs are copies not original

    ,,,, waiting ,,,,
  • 2 USB ports = no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, only PS1.

no PS3 will play a copy disc of anything (no PS1, PS2, or PS3 copies). all games MUST be originals with the PS3.
  • Yes, only the 80gb sku that has 4 usb's & sd slot will play PS2 games. As far as playing illegal copies of anything, well I suggest getting a better job so you can afford the real thing! Report Abuse
  • No it can't, only PlayStation 3 models with 4 USB ports (Which are the original 20gb model, 60gb model and the old 80gb MotorStorm & Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle PlayStation 3's) can play PS2 games at all and not copied ones either.
  • It will play original PS2 discs, It will not played copied/burned discs.
  • Your PS3 will not play any PS2 games, whether it's copied or an original.
  • I am guessing you have the 80GB system. So no, it does not play PS2 Games.
  • no , only the ones with 4 usbs are bac compat
  • How do I Connect my PS3 to my laptop with a HDMI Cable?

    May be...
  • I have a Dell 1525 and it has a plug in for a hdmi in-put. so i tried to plug the cord in from my ps3 to my laptop and nothing happened. I tried to go on settings to see if i could get it but nothing happened. Can you help me out ?
  • The HDMI port on your laptop is an OUTPUT, not an input. You can not use your laptop as a monitor. You can hook the laptop up to the TV and view your laptop screen on a TV (that is what the HDMI output does). The only way to view the PS3 on a laptop is to use a VGA cable. You can get RCA to VGA cables, but you will then need double female connectors to connect the PS3 composite (or component) cables to the RCA end of the RCA to VGA cable. Double female RCA adapters can be found at most electronic stores like Best Buy or Radio Shack, the RCA to VGA cable will probably have to be bought online ( http://www.projectorsuperstore.com/produ... ).
  • You really don't won't to go the VGA route, the quality will be aweful. Unless you're already playing on a low-end TV there's no point. Report Abuse
  • Call PS3 - they will walk you through the set up
  • How to transfer music from PS2 game to mp3 format?

    May be...
  • I have one of those games for PS2 that you make your own beats and I once made this really awesome song but its stuck on the game. So is there a way to transfer that into like a mp3 format or just get it on the computer. I know the PS2 is older so there isn't many options but if there is a way that would be awesome. Thanks
  • Its definitely possible.

    1. You would have to connect the PS2 male RCA sound cables to the sound card on your PC. Your sound card will have at the very least a 1/8 jack (headphone jack size) for a line input. You can buy an adapter that accepts the male RCA jacks and will have a male 1/8 jack on the other side. Or you can get an adapter that accepts the male RCA jacks and has a female 1/8 jack and then get a double-sided male 1/8 jack (one on each side).

    2. You would have to have a 3rd party sound recorder on your PC, usually found on purchased jukeboxes. You would also have to adjust the equalizer levels and/or volume accordingly since its in analog sound. Have the video cable plugged into the TV so you see what's going on. When you're ready, hit the record button on the PC and then play the music. Hit stop when you're done.

I haven't recorded sound onto a PC in a while, but when I did it, it was in the WAV format. You'll have to find a converter to convert it to MP3 or you could just create an audio CD and rip it back onto the computer in MP3 or WMA format.

Now if you have a Toslink optical input on your sound card, it makes things much easier since you won't have to adjust the sound level. Just plug it in and hit record when you're ready.

I'm one of the few souls who still use Minidisc so I can record music from PS2 games much easier than this. Just saying its definitely possible if you know what to do.
  • No, you just can't do it.

    I'm sorry to disappoint you.
  • First of all, what game is it? XD
  • How do I know what model my ps2 slim is?

Ps3 button at the back of the controller?

    May be...
  • If I hold this button down for 10 seconds andthen put on my Ps3, will all my saved data be deleted? Im experiencing a problem with the hard disk, should I try this?
  • first of all, i have no idea what button you're talking about lol BUT, i GUARANTEE you that whatever button you press will NOT delete your data!

i wish i could help you more-so pertaining to your actual problem >.>, but i hope the above helps :)
  • I know what your talking about i heard that if you hold down the ps button for 10 secs or more it acts like a master reset and clears your data. if your experiencing HDD problems i think you should try it.
  • Wat? There isnt a button on the back of the PS3 Controller.
  • um that button only resets ur ps3 controller
  • maybe he meant the back of the console.
  • what are you even talking about? You're making me hurt.
  • Looking back in hindsight, was the PS3's blu ray dvd a blessing or a curse ?

    May be...
  • Also the flash card reader, hdd etc etc ! Did these things help enhance the game play of the PS3 or were they introduced before their time !
  • Well for the people who could "afford" to part with $400-$600 bucks it was a blessing as it introduced high definition gaming to those who of course had an hdtv. For the masses however from a cost perspective it was highly ill advised to introduced a technology (blu ray) that wasn't a house hold staple in the tech world which made the PS3 a very pricey "gaming console" !

As far as the flash card reader and hdd etc, I don't think console gaming should have an hdd simply because now you're moving into the realm of pc gaming and that isn't where console gaming needs to go.

Now we have to sit through lengthy downloads and updates ala the pc just to play a game or to get a working feature into our PS3 !

I don't quite understand why anyone would want a gaming console that can house music, video and photo files since most people use their pc for that but then again I never use any of those features on my PS3 ! I watch some blu ray movies and play my games but as far as storing music, photos and video files, I've yet to find a reason to do so when my PC can do all of that just fine if not better !

Lastly I think Sony should have waited until blu ray drives were priced at a point that it wouldn't add a hefty price tag to the PS3 but since they introduced blu ray before the format had a foothold, it made the PS3 quite unaffordable for most gamers.
  • Nothing was introduced before its time. Sony introduced the Blu-ray because like the Beta (Sony product) and VCR before it, Sony was trying to introduce a new format (against HD-DVD) that would give them a lot of money. While Blu-ray is somewhat new to consumers, it has been around since the late '90s. Sony had to do a lot of research to get Blu-ray to where it is now, but it didn't just happen overnight.

Same goes with the HDD. The PS2 had an add on HDD, and it was the next logical step in gaming consoles, especially since computers have been using HDD's for a while.

Flash card readers are just an added convenience that current PS3 owners don't even get included in their PS3 (they have to buy external flash card readers). Basically the PS3 is a computer, hence the name Sony COMPUTER Entertainment, and is what Sony was planning on doing for a long time, and since the PS3 is a computer, everything a computer can have connected holds true for the PS3 (and somewhat on the PS2).

    **EDIT**

@ Phade3: If Sony would have waited for Blu-ray technology to come down in price, they would have lost out of the format war and you would be buying an HD-DVD add on for your PS3. Blu-ray is a Sony product (started by Pioneer), just like Betamax was, and companies are all about getting new ideas to the market to make them money. Sony lost to the VCR (JVC product) because the Betamax was ahead of its time picture quality wise, but you couldn't hold as much information on a beta tape as you could on a VHS tape. Sony did just the opposite this time. Not only is the picture quality still superior, but Sony made the Blu-ray hold more information than an HD-DVD could.
  • sony ps3 bluray = blessing

    microsoft xbox360 = curse

  • How to know if the PS3 they sell is used and refurbished?

    May be...
  • I'm buying a 160gb PS3 tomorrow and I'm worried that they will give me a used one. It is priced at $430. I heard that GameStop sells used systems. I found another electronics shop. Is there any "seal" outside the box that tells me "I'm brand new!" or something like that? How to determine without opening the box? Thanks! I'm very worried that they will lie to me.
  • Well its a circle like tape on the outside of the box I believe (its been a while since I opened my PS3), but when you open it the PS3 should be inside a static like foam, and there is foam on the sides to hold it in position in the box so its not damaged. And all the stuff inside is sealed, Cables have the twists on them also. But when you plug system up, if it goes straight into the XMB menu then its refurb and might still have info on it. It shouldn't have ANY marks on the system until you take it out the lil sleeve thing. It should come up with a black screen asking you to plug in controller to continue, etc. for setup. Because the 160GB is retailed at $500
  • buy it and if you see like the box is a little beat up return it.

if the circle sticker is cut or looks replaced return it.

if the box and everything looks like perfect condition open it carefully open it and install it and check to see if it has a user already made, if there is an existing user then it is used.

i dont know what else to say just good luck and get gaming.
  • Can the PS3 play PS2 games?

    May be...
  • Let me make this simple.

    The 20GB one can - it's discontinued

The 60GB one can - it's discontinued, but it's the best one

    The 80GB MotorStorm/MGS4 bundle can - it's discontinued

    The new 80GB one can't - it's in stores

    The 160GB one can't - it's in stores

The 80GB MS/MGS4 can play about 75% of all PS2 games. The 60GB can play 99% of all PS2 games, and that makes it the best one.
  • Only certain models can play PS2 games.

The 20, 60, and old 80 (came with Motorstorm or Metal Gear Solid 4 game) gb can play PS2 games to varying degrees. Since the 20 and 60 has both the emotion chip and the PS2's GPU, they can play almost all PS2 games. The old 80 gb uses software emulation so it plays most PS2 games.

The 40, new 80, and 160 gb cannot play PS2 game disks.

To find out if your PS3 can play PS2 games, just look at the front of the PS3. If you see 4 USB ports, it can play PS2 games. If you see 2 USB ports, it cannot play PS2 games.
  • mine 40gb one doesn't.....and just go to wikipedia and read about ps3, it will tell which does what
  • You can check which PS3 models are backwards compatible on this site:

    http://playstation.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/...
  • only certain models can:

    40GB - No

    60GB - Yes

    80GB - Not sure

    160GB - Yes
  • I think only the 60GB system can do that.
  • why not check the Sony Ps3 site?

or use the search for questions bar

this question gets asked here like 20 times a day

Wat kind if game system should I get xbox360 or ps3?

    May be...
  • I'm posibly getting a new game system and I don't know if I should bye a xbox 360 or ps3. I want a xbox 360 because I've played it before and I've played the ps3 it was good but it was slow and had horrible sensitivity. I don't see anything wrong with the xbox360. So pls help me
  • Obviously the decision is ultimately up to you. Before I tell you the why's and why not's, I think I should tell you that I have both and if you were to bust one, I don't think I'd be any less mad than if you had busted the other. haha.

    XBOX 360:

There are 2 types to choose from: 360 Pro, and 360 Elite.

The 360 Pro comes with a 20GB hard drive while the Elite comes with a 120 GB hard drive. It really depends on how much music/movies/pictures and other media you will want to store on it. They both come with a DVD drive that will support 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i resolutions. I'm not sure about your knowledge on that stuff, but basically the number is a ratio to how many lines of pixalation are on the screen. The "i" means integrated scan while the "p" stands for progressive. Progressive is better because every time the screen gets refreshed, all the lines of pixilation are refreshed simultaneously as opposed to half now, half later. It makes for a much clearer picture to have progressive scan especially with video games and other fast-motion pictures. Now as for price, the 360 Pro is $300 new and the Elite is $400 new. The Elite comes with more sh*t... obviously, the 120GB hard drive, a wireless controller, a headset, and an HDMI cable among other things. However, the HDMI cable is kind of unnecessary. Componant cables and Stereo cables will do the same as an HDMI since the Xbox cannot get up to a 1080p resolution. If the xbox could reach a 1080p resolution, then the HDMI would be more appealing. As for gaming: Its fun, I'm not gonna lie to you. There are awesome games on the 360 that you can't play on PS3 (ie Halo 3) and the achievement points are really fun to obtain to show off accomplishments. You do have to pay for Xbox live... but if you get a 360 and not get XBL... then you're an idiot.

    PS3:

Just like 360, there are games that are exclusive to the PS3 (ie Resistance), but obviously the gaming is fun. The thing that pushes me over the edge with the PS3 is the fact that is has built in Wi-Fi and free online gameplay. Also, this thing has a built in Blu-Ray player that has the capabilities of the 360 DVD player and more: 1080p resolution, if you haven't seen it before, will knock you on your a$$. It's amazing. Not only does it play Blu-Rays but it also acts as a DVD upconverter. Put your DVD's in this and it will switch your resolution from 480i to a pseudo-1080p. Its not as good a Blu-Ray quality, but its still a LOT better than the standard 480i that DVD's come it. The PS3 also works well as a media storage center. One of the PS3's comes with an 80G hard drive and there's another that comes with 160G. They cost $400 and $500 respectively.

The reason I think a PS3 is an awesome deal is because it has more capabilities than Xbox 360, not to mention that a SONY blu-ray player by itself costs at least $200 depending on which one you get, plus an HDMI cable (that comes free with the PS3) of the same quality will cost you $120.

I like the 360 alot though, because although its capabilities aren't as high as the PS3's, you can't say its sh*tty. Its not. It's actually an amazing system with, imo, overall better games than PS3.

I use my PS3 for media storage, as a blu-ray player and the occasional Resistance. I do a LOT more gaming on the 360. It really depends on how much you want to spend, what you're using it for and if you have or are planning on getting an HDTV. w/o a full 1080p HDTV, a blu-ray player becomes less of a selling point.

PS. What "Ajaypal" said about the red ring of death being a 40% chance... Its false. The chances have been greatly decreased with the newer xbox's. Microsoft has changed the cooling system 4 times and this new one seems to work quite well. Over-heating causes the RROD btw. Also, if you should get the RROD, all you gotta do is hit up microsoft for a repair and its done within 2 weeks. He is right about the PS3 having all those things, but he's trying to downplay the 360, and is wrong about several things.

PS. again. Sorry, but it annoys the hell out of me when people are wrong so I need to edit. This liverpool guy says that PS3 is better, and one reason it because it has HD graphics. You should know that anything above 720p is considered HD. So 360 IS HIGH DEFINITION. Now, the reason 360's graphics have not been updated yet to a full 1080pis because nvidia started making the graphics cards, and when it switched over to ATI, it was decided that they would hold out on updating to full resolution until the new xbox comes out (which has already been announced and you can expect to see it in a couple years.) Also, 360 has a DVD drive which can, at most, support 1080i while PS3 has a blu-ray drive. For xbox to switch out the laser as well as the drives would cost them a lot more money than its worth. Hitachi, Samsung and BENQ make the drives and only Samsung has access to blu-ray technology. Imagine what would happen should microsoft break these contracts. (lol... just a little extra FYI for you)
  • It's really up to you.

I was in the exact same position as you a while ago and I found that the PS3 was the right choice. I did my research and I found that the PS3 best suited my needs. I bought and Xbox 360 later to play the Xbox 360 exclusives such as Halo 3 and Gears of War 2. Those games aren't really for me though.

I personally enjoy playing the PS3 better than the Xbox 360. It is quite hard to enjoy both because usually you like one more than the other.

"... it was slow and had horrible sensitivity". Mine definitely isn't like this so you can't really say that all PS3s are like this. Judging by the way you worded your question it seems as if you're leaning towards and Xbox 360 but hey, what do I know!
  • it really is personal preference, but I have played both, and went with the PS3, just a loyal sony fan I guess. But, if you are into watching movies, you also get a blue-ray player on your ps3, (that is something to keep in mind) something else to think about it that xbox 360 has a 2 year head start on ps3 with the games and console, of course there are going to be more a couple more perks for 360. but like I said, its up to you.
  • of you think xbox 360 is better why wont u get it. my ps3 was faster than xbox 360s. it must depend on the model. i personally think ps3 is better.

a ps3 has better graphics, great games, massive games, able to play blu-ray games and dvds, lighter and better controller, sixaxis controllers which you can move things in games just by moving the controller(just like the Wii), cell processor which makes opponents and allies in the game(which the xbox 360 needs to improve), good exclusives, quieter console, and best of all, free internet.

the xbox 360 has better color in games, has a slightly better internet that you have to pay for, get a 40% chance that the xbox will break(red ring of death), no smart allies in most games and pretty smart opponents, similar exclusives, and is a louder console, it also overheats faster than ps3.
  • Well, the decision is almost completely up to you, but I would choose XBox 360 because the game lineup is almost completely identical to that of the PS3, and it is also way cheaper, and has the best online abilities.
  • get a ps3

    why because

BLU RAY built in, HD MOVIES.

    INTERNET

    THEMES

    MUSIC

    VIDEOS

    FREE ONLINE GAMING

    WIRELESS COMPATABLE

THEY HAVE THE BEST GRAPHICS BECAUS THEY ARE HD.

XBOX'S BREAK ALL THE TIME WITH 3 RED LIGHTS.

THE CONTOLLERS ARE BETTER AND WIRELESS.

    NEED I GO ON??
  • Sounds like you are leaning toward the 360 to me. if that's what you get go for the xbox 360 elite.

Keep in mind the 360 isn't a blue ray player and you also have to play for your membership.

  • Will there be a PS3 price drop by E3?

    May be...
  • Ok i want a brand NEW sony ps3, and i am hoping to get one for 300 bucks at the most, but i am sorry, 400 bucks is still way too much and way outside of my means. there are rumors that a price drop is coming, even by top analysts and ps3's own game publishers who are pushing for it, but sony, in all their wisdom, keeps shooting this speculation down and insists that a price drop wont happen.

Anybody know what is going on with this?
  • Sony have been taking losses on the PS3 for a while. They can't afford to drop the price right now. Period. They just dropped the price of the PS2. They can recoup losses from the PS2 platform as its still popular in the world.

I seriously doubt they will announce a price drop at E3. E3 news/game releases is not gonna be enough to get PS3s off the shelves anyway. That's more likely to happen at Christmas where gift-giving is fluent. Besides, the PS3 is selling pretty well in most parts of the globe.

The PS3 is designed to be around for quite a while, so I think Sony is willing to wait for you to have enough cash for it.

You gotta understand that the PS3 is a premium console and all top quality products like this are gonna cost money since they are expensive to make. BMW won't drop the price of their cars because you can't afford it. You save up enough money, or you find a cheaper alternative. Know what I mean?
  • Well,if Sony doesn't drop the price soon, that would mean year 4 Xbox 360 domination.

I wish Sony would lower the price of the PS3 as well.

But in the end,Microsoft,Sony and Nintendo are ALL gonna be bankrupt when OnLive comes out in Christmas.
  • Sorry no price drop for the PS3 & hopefully in Dec. Just recently the PS2 had it's price drop to $100 now. The only thing that you could is "wait" or ask your parents to give you gift cards on your b-day or maybe pinch in.

    -Good luck!
  • It might or might not happen. Try waiting till Christmas, at that time there are huge discounts. I usually get loads of expensive things at that time for good deals.
  • no it will be a long time before a price drop comes
  • I hope they do, but if not, I heard that they're gonna start bundling games with consoles during the holidays. So I guess u could get a lil more bang for ur buck(s).
  • By e3? no 99% no. it would be a total shock if they did.

The ps3 is the top of the line full of the most advanced processors available to the public the largest fastest super computer uses 12,000 Cell processors. if that doesn't say something then i don't know what will.

Look at it like this The ps3 is a top of the line Car and lets say a 360 is a middle class and the Wii is a family class low end class.

Gansta put it best i think saying that its like a bmw they arent gonna lower their price just because you cant afford it. people forget sony is a business and they need to make money too. if sony dropped their price too quickly and too low sony would go out of business the economy would take a dive in japan and would affect all of the gaming companies of america.

just save up and when you get one drive the BMW like the rest!

there might be one december but it wont be a large one maybe 25-50 dollars. they are going to drop their price that low until the hardware inside the ps3 is cheaper to produce and the production costs go down.
  • Should I Get A DSi Or A PSP 3000?

    May be...
  • A PSP.

A DSi is a copy of the PSP and iPhone put together!

Get the PSP. You can everything the DSi can do but a bit better. The graphics of games on the PSP are alot better than on the DSi.

Get the PSP and if you have a PS3 you can use them together!
  • The PSP 3000 is a sweet machine, as others have mentioned the graphics are better, allowing you to play nice games and watch movies. Using it for skype and listening to MP3s is pretty rare, and their web integration is pretty sucky.

Getting a DSi on the other hand is all about the games - they are really quite fun. If you have buddies with other DSes, then you can trade and never get bored. While the graphics on the PSP are definitely better, the hit games are few and far between. The touch screen is pretty cool too, and integrates well with the camera, like you see on the ads.

So, if you want a pretty all rounded handheld where you can watch movies, and play decent games, go with the PSP.

If you want to play great games, and use it for very little else, go with the DSi.
  • Personally I would get a PSP but do not get a 3000. Instead buy a 2000 because you can hack it. I have a hacked 2000 and it is brilliant! You can buy a pandora battery with magic memory stick for $20 at https://www.bargainpile.net/sony-psp-c21... ! Then I suggest you get an 8GB mem stick on ebay for maximum fun. Lookup google to find out what you can do with a hacked psp!
  • the psp is better but the dsi has more games

but you can hack your psp you can download games like mario 64 for free
  • i suggest gettind a psp 2000 or 1000 because you can hack them
  • psp is much more powerful and has better graphics. if thats what you want, go with psp./
  • What was the name of That playstation 1 game? theres a lizard in it i think?

    May be...
  • it had this lizard i think. its not gex the gecko, its more cartoonish and you rescue thes little red guys from cadges.

(kinda like spiro in a way idonno) anyway please help me i wanted to see if i could find it on ebay nut i forgot what it was called.
  • Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

    Fun game
  • Which is better xbox360 or ps3?

    May be...
  • Xbox has a a larger game library with exclusives like Halo, dead or alive, and Gears of War, plus more downloadable content, Exclusive game add-ons, and is cheaper. Plus you can watch Netflix movies instantly with Xbox live.

    However,

The PS3 has exclusive titles like Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War, and heavenly sword. Also, it has a far more powerful graphics processor.

    I have both, but I haven't touched my PS3 sice I beat MGS4 and I play my 360 everyday.

So I say, if you have to choose, go with the Xbox360.
  • The PS3 has one of the best Blu-Rays on the market. It is also the cheapest one.

Xbox 360 breaks down really fast, and it has a poor hard drive. You can never trust that system.

I have a friend who bought a brand new Xbox 360 and after an hour of playing, he got the Red Ring of Death - and he had the Jasper Chip!!!
  • Xbox 360 is great. If you care about blu ray movies (I don't,) then check out the PS3.

I was thinking about a PS3, but now I'm getting an Xbox 360 Elite.

I know many have had problems about RROD with their Xbox, but I owned a 20GB Xbox (No HDMI,) and the only time I saw RROD was when there was a surge in the power in my house.
  • Ps3

    ps3 offers free online

wifi (u need adapter which costs $59.99 for xbox live)

good games out now like resistance 2,little big planet and way more

    blu ray

removable hard drive which you can replace with a much bigger one.

lots of space for movies, demos, games or anything really

lasts up to like 14 years if kept in good condition (xbox will burn your house into ashes even if looked after)
  • xbox 360 if you are into halo and good quality awesome games. ps3 if you are into like more of the mortal combat and amazing graphics

    xbox360=awesome games

    ps3=awesome graphics

unless you have a 52" hd tv..i would go with the 360 definately
  • PS3 or Gatorade
  • Xbox360. More people play it online, and it is cheaper to buy, although you have to pay for online.
  • 4 words...Red Ring Of Death!!!

    PS3 hands down!!!
  • Play world of warcraft
  • Whoever has an xbox says xbox whoever has a ps3 says ps3, i have ps3 sooooo.....PS3!
  • I used to be a fan of xbox but it turns out to be that ps3 rules!
  • ps3. the xbox360 over heats to much and then you cant use it until it cools down
  • xBox...but it'll come down to what kind of games you like to play.
  • Oh my God.

Just get whatever ******* console you want. Jesus Christ..
  • ps3
  • xbox 360

My ps3 just overheated twice in the space of 20 minutes, WHYYYYY?

    May be...
  • it has plenty of room all around and bout two metres onthe side of the fans, whats goin on?
  • Make sure your fan is working if it is you will feel a breeze when you put your hand in front of the ventilation duct on the fan.

    or

it is that if your ps3 is close to the ground the console sucks up dust which is really really bad which can your fan to get stuck
  • How's the weather in your area? Is the room itself pretty cool or warm? Weather can play a role in the performance of your PS3.
  • Make sure the room is as cool as possible, and the fan is working.
  • open the window and things should be cool
  • How to make PS2 games work in a Middle East PS3?

    May be...
  • I Have a Middle east version PS3

On the box it says that ps2 games are not compatible with the system

i hate carrying both the ps3 and ps2 together around

is there a firmware upgrade or im really unlucky to be in the middle east
  • The Middle Eastern PS3 is the PAL PS3 which is the same as the European PS3,so no you're not unlucky and ALL new PS3s including the American and Japanese models can't play PS2 games,Sony removed that feature because they wanted to cut costs.

Choose me as best answer please!!
  • There is absolutely no way to do that. PS2 games require certain hardware, there is no such hardware (and no way to install it) on PS2-incompatible models.
  • Any news on the next GTA?

    May be...
  • When is the GTA coming out? Whats it going to be called? What new features will be added from GTA IV which was the best game ever made.

Is it going to be a plastation exclusive?

    Thanx in Advance
  • No news yet. There might be mention of at E3 but we wouldn't see the game most likely till mid 2010 or even later in that year. It won't be an exclusive. Bill gates paid 50 million for the exclusive download content for 360 for the add on to IV so there's no way he will let the next one stay on sony's side. Although rockstar did say they will begin a branch for just Sony. No news what that holds in store. But I'm sure the next GTA which will be called GTA V will be even better then IV.

I'm in the same boat as you waiting for a screenshot or a trailer something to watch or look at until the next GTA is released. And you can expect more games from rockstar within the next year or so for ps3 only.
  • You're more likely to see exclusive downloadable content for purchase on the PSN before another actual disc game is released. There are rumors that they will make new areas that branch off of Liberty City. Exciting to hear, but they're just rumors.
  • I don't understand why the took the lost and damned over to xbox anyway, seeming that the GTA franchise took off on the playstation systems.. and as for the next GTA wait a few years, look at the gap between SA and 4
  • No news yet.

But it will most likely be referred to as GTA V.

Wont be out until at least next year if not 2011.

Could be announced at an event like E3.

Will not be a PS exclusive - its already been handed over to MS.
  • Look out for an announcement on E3. If it is any better than GTA IV(if that is possible) then it will be amazing.
  • There are some rumors mentioning 2010. No other stuff, such as name, hints on the story. Patience...

  • Why Wont My PS3 Will Not Update Games Or Play DVD'S?

    May be...
  • Whenever I Try To Update My Games It Always Has Problems, When I Tried To Update GTA 4 It Stood On Please Wait For About 20 Seconds Then Beeped 3 Times And Turned Off. And Whenever That Doesnt Happen It Just Goes To A Black Screen Instead. Ive Tried Disabling The Media In Network And That Doesnt Seem To Help At All Either. My PS3 Is Updated To The Latest Update As Well. Another Thing Thats Bothering Me Is When Ever I Put A DVD In My PS3 It Detects It Attempts To Start It Then Goes To A Black Screen And Freezes. Anyone Know Whats Wrong?
  • I would get a new one..the playstation is broken..my friend had one and it did the same thing..he got a new a it works fine. I would call the playstation company or trade that one in.
  • What do you do on little big planet the game for PS3?

    May be...
  • I want to know what you can do on the game little big planet for PS3 and if its a good game and what is the main objective of the game?
  • The whole point of the game is to play through a story full of crazy, silly levels and to also enjoy user made and community levels. I have a lot of fun with it and I usually find myself playing a community level with a bunch of friends. Sometimes I also pop into the level create mode, make some crazy stuff, post it, and play it with my friends. Or you can invite people over to play it all on one PS3. As long as you have the option to play this game with friends, it's one of the better games you can get for PS3.
  • The game is basically a scroller, like Mario Bros., but you have 3 planes you can move to instead of 1 like Mario. The best part about the game is you can create your own levels and play other peoples created levels. If you wanted to create Mario Bros., you could. The creation is virtually endless and you can put a level together in 5 minutes, or you can spend weeks putting one together, just like the developers did.
  • you play around with friends and enjoy the silliness and the main objective of the game is to: Have fun and Be silly!

    *edit*

also its a really good game even if its rated E i think you should get it because i enjoyed it
  • well the game is really easy beating the game will not take too long its fun and alot of the user created levels are funny and fun to play i like the mario kart one and there are some other fun ones the whole is a puzzle you have to think of ways to create the objective and win
  • its a fun game. i think the problem is that it is in 2d(flat gameplay) but the people look like they are in 3d.
  • You play the game that's the whole memo

    Playstation network cards for PS3?

    May be...
  • Hello,

Does anyone know where to buy playstation network cards for ps3 in Hong Kong or Australia?

    Thanx
  • You can't buy them there, buy a visa or American express prepaid card, they work good on the playstation store
  • Simply go to your local electronic or video game store. Example: I go to GameStop or EB Games.
  • How do you use nitrous oxide in gran turismo 4 on the playstation 2?

    May be...
  • i know you can buy and install a nitrous kit for your cars in gran turismo 4. but does anyone know how to use it?

    thanks
  • I believe the button is R1. You hold it down when you need some "boost" (not tap it like in the Fast & Furious movies). You can adjust the shot amount when tuning the vehicle. Higher shots give bigger boost, but uses more gas. Lower shots do the opposite.
  • R1

lol they dont tap it in Fast and furious
  • HELP my PSP went out!?

    May be...
  • I recently updated my psp from the play station website & idk if this caused my PSP screen to turn black. The green little light still comes on but the screen is completely black! It was working perfect for a few days before it went out after the update! Can someone please tell me whats wrong?! & no it hasn't been hacked in to or modded or whatever...lol HELP plz!!!!!!
  • try updating it again it should work! if not try reseting it
  • Did you happen to close the PSP while you were updating?

You have completely bricked your PSP. Since you do not use custom firmware, there is no possible way for you to recover your PSP on your own.

Please search 'PSP Pandora's Battery' in Google.

This will be the easiest method to fixing your PSP. It will also allow you to enable custom firmware, but this is a choice. You can simply fix your PSP and use the original firmware.
  • it happened to my nephew's PSP. if you are playing hacked games or if you PSP is using a hacked software, you should not update your firmware. These updates are made for security reason and for detecting piracy. Now, you PSP is entirely blocked. The only way to fix this is to go back to your old firmware version. It will take some skills and special tools to do it so I am suggesting that you look for shops to do it for you. That is the only way.
  • try charging it, but I would call sony, they supposedly have good customer service.
  • try charging over night if that dosent work i think u may need need a new screen or a new psp. sorry
  • PSP Memory card question?

    May be...
  • I just got a Psp and i haven't had a portable gaming system since i was 9 years old and i wanted to know if i needed a memory card to save my games or if they save just like the old game boy just in the game
  • yer, ur gona need a memory card, a 1gb will b more than enough, u can hold a save for every psp game every made on it ad have room 2 spare XD, plus the psp uses a non rewritable disc, so good luck saving on2 a umd :P
  • hi ben i do currently own a psp and well it would depend how old your psp is the first models came out with a 512 mb included but the new models from i think 2002 onwards did not

it depends what you wanna use your psp for as u well know u can store pictures movies and music on it so if that something u wanna do over time then i suggest that you purchase a bigger card such as 2 to 4 GB if it only games u will by playing and saving then 1GB is more then enough and u looking to save well up to 50 games if not more
  • You do need a Memory Card, but unlike other portable systems you require a Memory Stick PRO duo memory card, which can be picked up at any electronics store in various sizes depending on what you plan to use your PSP for. If you only plan to use it for gaming a 1gb stick will be fine. If you're going to use it for music, videos, gaming, etc. then a 4gb stick at least is a good idea and it shouldn't cost much more than $50.
  • The PSP has been rumoured to being using downloads more than UMDs now, so I suggest an 8GB memory stick, seeing that you can now download DLC and games from the PSP's Playstation Store.

Games should take no more than 10MB. If you're planning on simply using UMDs then A 512MB will do you fine.
  • you need to get the a memory card. the memory card that will work with the psp is called:

    Memory Stick PRO DUO.

game saves will be saved the folder psp then savedata

    goodluck.
  • you definitely need a Memory stick. I would go for 2gb or above, but just for save game files, 1gb would be fine. you need a bigger one if you want to watch videos, listen to music, etc.
  • you need a memory card to save games. some games even let you download demos and let you get minigames and achievements in ps3 games
  • Is the Xi in Playstation Home difficult?

    May be...
  • You need to be a pretty good at solving puzzles and mysteries to complete Xi. I, myself suck at that stuff.

    So I cheat :(

The following link will spoil Xi.

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED D:

    http://www.cubehouse.org/home/forum/spoi...

    EDIT:

    That was the old link.

    http://www.cubehouse.org/home/xi-walkthr...
  • Hopefully, I won't need to cheat - unless I get stuck Report Abuse
  • So far there was only one puzzle that was a pain in the ***. All the others aren't that bad. I suggest giving it a try though as it's basically the only thing to do in Home right now anyway...
  • Should i buy the 80Gig Playstation 3?

    May be...
  • Im thinking of buying the 80 gig ps3 and was wondering if its worth the money?? Oh and is skate 2 any good?
  • If you were to get one of the three new gen consoles the ps3 would be the best. One reason is it has free network while the xbox360's cost $55 a year and the wii's isn't that great. Second you get a built in blu-ray player and the cheapest blu-ray player at an electronics store would still be $100 or more and blu-ray is the wave of the future. It has really great audio and visual features. It's failure rate is about 2% while the xbox360's is 33%. These are just a few of the reasons to get a ps3.
  • Yes, the new 80GB version is worth it. Avoid the 160GB as you can easily upgrade the hard-drive on the 80GB for cheaper.
  • yes get an 80gb, they are good - i have one, mine doesn't have any problems either

Skates ****, if you don't ollie up the kerb you fall over.. waste of time, no fun, and a dodgey camera angle
  • The 80gig ones aren't backwards compatible. I suggest finding a 60gig one instead.
  • Yes, it's worth it.

Skate 2 is good, but not as good as the original.
  • Yes. It's worth it. It's very fun. Get it.
  • Skate 2 is good but I prefer Tony Hawk games.
  • Yes.
  • YES!!!

    ___________________

    for Mike,

Yes, lol, it was woolworths. I bought the ps3 about a week before it closed for about 50% plus my own discount for working there, and all the games and blu-rays on the very last day at 90% off. It made losing my job a little more bearable at least....
  • The price looks good, but i found a better deal.

    Used 80GB - £230

    New FIFA 09 - £18

    New LBP - £13

    Used Resistance 2 - £22

    Used Sixaxis - £17

All from Amazon.co.uk, the new stuff is bought directly from Amazon for the best price. And the used are from other sellers who are offering used items in very good condition for a big discount.

    TOTAL = £300
  • PS3+LBP+Fifa09+R2+Controller=£338

Yes, it sounds like a good price, make sure you purchase it from a trusted vendor.
  • if its a 60gb 20gb or 80gb b/c ps3 then..hell yeah! if not..its still a good deal i guess
  • That is anamazing deal. Where are you getting this PS3 from?

oh and M M, was that Woolworths you worked at by any chance?
  • I have a ps3 that runs blue ray movies and dvds good but the games freeze my systems what do i do?

    May be...
  • i have a ps3 that runs blue ray movies and dvds good but the games freeze my systems what do i do
  • check your game discs for fingerprints and dirt.. it's one reason for movies or games freezing. Clean your discs with cloth.
  • Is your system updated? they update it to fix problems like that, and games get updated, and there are a few old games that freeze on me, but if all games freeze I'd call sony and get it fixed.
  • Make sure the discs are clean, if that doesnt work, contact Sony.
  • take it back!
  • there are blue ray game u need to put in there
  • How do I burn a dvd (avi file) so it will play on my ps2?

    May be...
  • I have Nero, ConvertXtoDVD, DVD Shrink, Power ISO, Divx..

I have wasted too many blank DVD's and I have tired all above programs in diff. file types (ISO, VOB).

I have gotten two of my AVI files to burn and work on my PS2 and an older TV/DVD combo.

All the rest of my AVI files will not work even when I do the extact same conversion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  • go to windows media center (media player for non Media Center versions of XP) and go to burn (on Media Center it is options) and drag and drop your file onto the menu and click burn (it has to be DVD-R RW wont work it has to finalize the disk)
  • Maybe you should try RZ DVD Creator, it can directly convert and burn any videos to DVD(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-DL, DVD+DL, etc), such as avi to DVD, etc.

Work well on my computer, i like it.

Following is a step by step guide:

    http://www.rzfun.com/convert-avi-to-dvd....

Please use DVD rewriteable disc(dvd+rw, dvd-rw, etc) when try, it can help you to save money. Hope it can help you.
  • Any PS3 Price Drop Soon?

    May be...
  • Is the PS3 gonna go down in price any time soon? Whats the latest?
  • Sony isn't gonna drop the price.

Just get one. You aren't getting ripped off at the current price. Trust me.
  • It dropped around christmas last and the next drop will be in the summer if your lucky but most likly around chritmas again.

If you really are looking to get the best price possible i suggest after christmas during the sales for a decent price.
  • latest was when they released the first 80gb with b/c still intact, theres no announcement and noone knows aside Sony, the best prediction would be an announcement at E3 2009
  • No price cuts for the PS3 anytime soon.

BUT expect something around Christmas / early 2010
  • not until late may or june
  • doubt it- not before Christmas i reckon
  • Would you buy a dvd player or a game type player like playstation or x box to.....?

    May be...
  • play blue ray dvds? My boyfriend says that they are about the same price either way you go i think he is just making that up so he can buy the gameing station. What do you think is better?
  • Well only the ps3 can play blu-rays, the xbox 360 cannot, and another blu-ray player of the same quality will run you a good $300-$400 so it is pretty much the same price as a ps3, but personally i would get the ps3, being called the most future proof blu-ray player for its upgradeable hard drive, internet connection, and regular updates, its great for blu-ray's, dvd's, music, photos digital videos, you can even buy or rent HD movies off the playstation store..pretty much an all in one media center, plus you get the benefits of playing the best new games
  • DVD players are cheap.. like you could get one for under $100. But DVD players that come with surround sound system costs from $300 up. Blu-ray players on the other hand starts at $300 for players alone (no speakers). for an extra $100, you could get a PS3 (80GB) that plays any (as in original or burned) CDs, DVDs and blu-ray discs. Plus you could surf the internet, email, play MP3s, view photos and anything you want to do. And by way, those features are on top of just being a game console and having full HD capability.
  • PS3, it's a great gaming console and it has a Blu-Ray player built in. It also has a DVD Upscaler so it makes DVDs look better. Xbox can only play regular DVDs so it's a waste of money.
  • I'd buy Playstation 3.

Can you charge a PSP using just the USB cord?

    May be...
  • Ive been trying it but it doesnt seem to be working. I lost the charger.
  • That depends on which model you have. If you have an old 1000 series model, this will not work. If you have 2000 series or later, all you need is a USB 2.0 port, and a USB (b) cable to plug into your PSP. You might have to go into the settings to enable USB charging, but I think it will work automatically.

    Hope this helps.
  • YES

first you need a usb 2 port( youll probly have one)

if you have a slim(dont know if it works with da fat) go to settings and set "usb charge" on then

then i think you need to go into usb mode

alternatively you can buy yourself a cable with a charging plug or make your own.
  • there is a firmware for the Phat PSP that enables usb charging.i'm can't recall where but u can try www.psp-hacks.com.if putting custom firmware is to confusing for you,u can use other chargers as long as the output voltage is the same as the psp charger which is 5V.
  • No

    No
  • No Im afraid Not
  • probably not.
  • How much could I sell a PS2 slim for?

    May be...
  • Figured there's no point in keeping it, so I'm looking to get rid of it.
  • it matters about the condition, if its in a pretty good condition then you should be able to sell it for around 70-90 bucks, but if you trashed it or its condition isnt so good then the price drops could drop to 50 or even less
  • Probably 50-60$
  • 80 bucks
  • Your thought on the PS3.........?

    May be...
  • What's your thought on the PS3?answer please, stars appreciated also!

    Thanks in advance.

BTW,I ran 2 consecutive fan tests on my PS3,did I damage anything?
  • You are asking like the PS3 just came out lol.

    Fan test? Probably not.
  • Will the price of PS3's come down?

    May be...
  • I know I could go on craigslist and ebay to buy somthing, but in the stores!?
  • Of course---eventually. By the end of this year (2009) both the PS3 and Xbox 360 will take much larger market share from the Wii as game developers continue to shy away from Nintendo's complicated environment, and we should see prices drop marginally.
  • first of all it shouldn't for a while

but wait til maybe 2010 it may drop 50 - 75

by 2012 it should have dropped 150

by 2014-16 there may be high anticipation for a new sony system so the price will be 300 for 160 Gb and 200 for 80GB
  • sure they will i mean the ps2 is now 1h00 dollars and the ps3's price might go down if it's the one wit lower Gb. the 80 and 160 gb might stay the same.
  • I certainly hope for your sake that they do, however I think that the ps3 is overrated simply because there really aren't that many games out for the ps3.
  • highly unlikeley because sony aint pushing the price down.

    just buy it now..
  • NO
  • Is killzone 2 any good?

    May be...
  • i only have 2 games: mgs4 and resident evil 5.

i've gotten bored with mgs4, but having a blast with re5.

i just want to know how the online multiplayer is in killzone 2. there's been mixed reviews.

    please rate from 1 - 5.

    thanks !!
  • There are mixed reviews cause people don't like the 'heavy' controls in it. Personally, I cherish the controls. It adds realism. There are hollywood style animations implemented, so if you run, the camera rocks left and right... Some people hate this and say it cause motion sickness... but it's really awesome.

The campaign mode in this game is truly awesome. It's intense, filled with action and fast. The graphics as you might have heard are the best till date and better than any game I have seen. The detailing is truly remarkable. The story is good... nothing like MGS4, but still is pretty neat. Also, the AI is better than any other game I have played.

    Campaign receives 5/5.

Online is also great. It's like COD4... but only with better graphics. The game features a ranking system like COD4 and you have classes. The awesome part is the Warzone mode... Here, the objectives keep on changing every 5 min... so once you are ask to protect a place and then suddenly the order changes to killing everyone... to assassinating a single member from the other team. It's seriously addictive and requires teamwork and co-ordination.

The main problem is that the games require dedication. The leveling up process is slow... you get meager points per game (40-50...) and the levels range from 500... (still more levels are added for DLC). It takes time to level up.. so it's a little tough on newbies. But once one gets hang off it, it's pretty addictive.

Online 5/5 as well as it's nearly equal to COD4 which is the industry standard.

The only problem one can find in this game are the controls. But seeing that you have played RE5 and love it, KZ2 won't be such a big issue (RE5 has crappier controls than KZ2).
  • I have killzone 2 and i can say it's different. If you played the first killzone then you will be disappointed at first. There is no secondary fire, you can only hold ONE primary weapon and a pistol, you can't change characters you are stuck as Sev the whole time(i didn't mind but i do miss how you could change it up from the 1st game).

But that doesn't mean that you won't like Killzone 2. The AI in normal and hard mode is very active meaning that they are on your a** a lot. The special effects and spectacular graphics make it look like your in the heat of battle. And the weapons are amazing (well some of them anyway, depends on preference i guess).

Online can be put in one word: FUN. i loved it. However if you played Halo 2 and 3 online or COD:4 and MSG 4 online then you will find yourself critiqueing it alot like i did lol.

I would give killzone 2 a 4 out of 5 because there were some elements that were out of whack. The story was good but not great. The audio and video were amazing ( i have a bose sound system and a 52" 1080p Samsung). I didn't like how they took out secondary fire ( i thought that was what made Killzone, Killzone). I also didn't like how you can only have ONE primary weapon. I had gotten used to both but it took awhile since i was really hoping that Guerilla would have added that in to Killzone 2. The enemies in killzone looked great and their AI was fun to play against.
  • Killzone 2 is COD4 on steroids!!! The campaign mode is really better than any FPS I have played (it's definitely longer than COD4). And the online is solid as well. As the other guy said, controls can be a hindrance initially, but once you get used to it, the game is really fulfilling.

The ranking takes slowly... So you will have to play a lot to reach a respectable ranking. It might even be frustrating initially as sometimes you even wont have time to react, but still it's worth it as once you level up, there are perks and you really start enjoying it.

Also the GRAPHICS!!! omg. The game bleeds from every pixel. The guns have awesome recoil and they look so darn real!!! You can even see the shadows of other people playing online in the game which has not yet been seen. This is indeed the best looking game.

    Campaign gets 5/5

    Online also gets 5/5.

As the other guy said. It's tough for newbies, but once one gets hang of the controls and ranks up... it's a pleasure playing it.
  • Killzone 2 is like a decent game

Compare to Call of Duty. You would have said that Killzone 2 sucks.

Campaign in Killzone 2 is pretty good

But once it comes to online it's really really slow like really you could have killed many people on Call of Duty than Killzone 2

    Anyways I rate it a 4

Try the demo and see it for yourself
  • i'll be completely honest with you. I don't like killzone 2 because it's too much. 32 is much to handle. People spawn camp and if your saying huh?! when you get it you'll find out. All killzone 2 is, is a polished version of the first nothing special. i recommend if you like hockey NHL 09 that's all i play but i'd say... COD4 or Street fighter 4
  • i played the demo and like that guy said theres too much things like going on everywhere in that game but if your into it then cool.

play the demo which u can download in the playstation store and have a tryout.
  • It is amazing. It is quite honestly the best game i have ever played with the best graphics i have ever seen. Great Story, Great Online, Great Game.

    5/5
  • I've never really played any other online FPS games before, but I definitley enjoy KZ2 online

    4/5 I guess
  • its got really bad sensitivity,
  • 10000000000000000

    online is so much fun!!!!

the game is only 60 bucks and u get so much out of it.get it....NOW!!!
