How do i download a game from my ps3 to psp?

i bought a game from playstation store, and its compatible with my psp but how do i down load it to my psp i connected the lead, and the ps3 said i had to sign it to show i had permission to copy the game to psp.

It's actually faster than it sounds. I've got a wireless router made by NetGear. It runs the Wii, PS3, my kids computer, and my PSP (in case someones already on the two computers)
I love it. The games are awesome online for the PS3. And plus, no more arguments over who gets to be online. Your computer doesn't affect how fast your internet is - wether your PC is rubbish or brilliant, the PSP and Wii will still have the same speed connection.
Wireless routers are brilliant. Go for it. Your computers specs have no effect on which router to buy PSP

Nope, so far Sony doesn't allow that or limited for that matter. Also if your TV has HDMI 1.3 then you could do RGB full range without any worries.

These new games are all about realism and graphics. It doens't matter if it's WWII or moden war, it's the feeling of "being" into the game because of it's closeness to reality. I'm sure, you would still enjoy. it would totally be a different exprience. Modern weapons make the game so fast and chaotic. I'm looking for a slower but action filled action game. I just got my PS3 and will be getting COD5 when it comes out. I play COD4 on PC and will probably still play it after 5 comes out. I am actually really tempted to buy 4 for ps3 but I won't do that until I play 5 for a while.
I also play cod2 on my PC and those servers are always going so I bet people will still be playing 4 on psn. I think alot of people that log countless hours in cod4 will move over to WaW, but some people don't like the WWII setting so they won't. There will still be thousands of people playing COD4 online. In my opinion i like the new COD, its a good change of pace and i love the older guns.

i listened to the first one on MGS4 and it was really cool what they were going to do with it. They said they would add others. But when i go to extras there are none there for downloading.

Please answer. thanks. nope, it has to be an internal hd. you can only use external to save photos, music and videos but it will not be a default hd. Unless you wanna crack it open and get the hd from inside. Hey. The only way to know is to actually hook it up to the ps3 system itself. I have 2 external wd hard drives and one works with it and one does not. Maybe you could contact the manufacturer and ask them of your concern.

Also, if you are losing, go for the races that have the green circle. Yellow is medium, orange is hard, and red is really hard. Remember that for the future.
I'll usually do a race several times, that way I can get used to the track, even find some secret passage ways. It might help to just spend some time cruising around the city. Get familiar with the courses that you are racing in.( i don't have midnight club: los angeles. but this applies to all racing games) Knowing that there's gonna be a sharp turn helps a lot since you need to brake early.

If I use a component cable to connect my LCD tv to my PS3, will I be able to play Blu-Ray DVD's?

I have my Playstation 3 connected to my JVC LCD television using the component cables and a resolution of 1080i
Will I be able to watch Blu-Ray DVD's using these settings? Absolutely. The only way to view them in High Def is by using component or HDMI cables. If you use composite cables you will get a 480i signal. Make sure you don't forget too go to the Video settings and change the signal output to component. You'd be surprised how many people forget to change the settings and waste hours of time thinking they have messed something up. You don't need any specific cables to be able to play blu ray but the component cables enhance the picture. From lowest to highest, av cables the one's it comes with, then s video in the same the yellow one by it self, then component, hdmi is the best. I personally have hdmi and the picture is amazing so clear. How did u manage 1080i using component?? unless ur using YPbBr component cables...but then try to change ur resolution to 1080p cause its the highest Resolution bluray can offer and even better if ur using HDMI cables bluray films will look awesome!!(if they are kinda new films from 2006... older films looks like regular dvds cause of technology used to film back then) Yes, and it will look amazing. yes it will, although it wont look as good as if you were using HDMI but it will look really good!!!

No, the PS3 uses a virtual hardware environment (a hypervisor) to run games in a controlled virtual hardware.
Therefore, there is no mod chip for PS3 yet. And there won't be any modchip for a long time.
The only way to get around that would be tapping into the firmware similar to the PSP. No such thing. No No- even if their was I wouldn't want it. I'd hate to be afraid to go online with my ps3.

The game has a difficulty setting so you can pick easy. Far Cry 2 is your game. You have 50 square kilometeres to to whatever the hell you want to. It is very interesting. A DLNA media streaming server on your computer you can easily transfer files to your PS3 so I'm assuming it'll work the other way around.. Copy your music files onto a flash drive and then transfer them to your computer

if you have a PSP then use that if you are comfortable with transfering files with it I transfer gbs of movies using an 8gb usb stick....its fast to copy data from pc to usb stick then from usb stick to ps3. The network media server method is SLOW! but a memory stick pro duo and save your songs there then plug it into your ps3 and play your songs or copy to hard drive a memory card or flashdrive!!

will a playstation 1 memory card work on a playstation 2 slim system as long as the game being played is a Playstation 1 game? I think so. Actually, it will work. Yeah. That's actually how it works. You need a PS1 memory card for a PS1 game and a PS2 memory card for a PS2 game. However, you can't use a PS1 memory card for PS2 games or a PS2 memory card for PS1 games. PS1 games can be stored only on PS1 cards due to the different architecture (PS1 uses old blocks system, while PS2 already uses standard memory, measured in MB). Yea to save ps1 games when playing on ps2 u need a ps1 mem card, and yea it works on the slim ps2.

why is play station home geting delayd so much Its because the PlayStation president Kaz Hirai wasn't completely happy with it. He has delayed it so it could be improved before release. You can't blame him really. If there was the slightest thing in it which wasn't perfect you just know what the online community would be like. They would tear it to shreds!
Home is a massive project and therefore takes a long time to get right. Some of the recent improvements include:
- a better UI (clearer text engine, better icons and better menu structure),
- improved graphics engine (so the whole thing looks sharper, has better water effects and the framerate is improved in busy areas),
- the ability to check which of your friends is online and at 'home',
- video streaming for much faster video access and streaming video channels in the Home Theatre,
- the addition of the 'Marketplace' where you can buy clothing and furniture for your virtual home,
- customising your characters physical appearance, clothing and accessories can be done at any time,
- the ability to launch certain games from inside 'Home',
- improved stability of voice chat with large groups of people, and lots of added sound effects.
All sounds well worth waiting for. there will be no more delays. Sony has announced that Quore episode 6 will feature a beta code for Home, meaning that if you purchase quore, episode 6 (on the playstation store November 6th), they will give you a free beta code so you can participate in the closed beta. I don't no im starting to think its just a customer attraction so that more people buy a PS3 how can something like this take so long?

If the thing can't even play ps2 games (80 gig PAL) then what is the point in having an internal virtual memory card unit in the console? Is it just to tease us non-ps2-capable-console players or is there any links to a proper emulation method in the future? It would add significanlty more work and open up more compatibility issues if they were to make a seperate version of firmware just to remove that feature, so they leave it in even on systems that can't really make use of it. It's still needed if you download old classic games from PSN or if you play PS1 games (PS1 games are supported by all PS3 versions). Donate your PS3 to McDonalds, they need it more than you do.

11). Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.

Gh4 rockband 2 drumset?

im trying to connect my gh 4 drum set to play rb2 but it keeps connecting as a controller for vocals i was wondering what im doing wrong because all the Peripherals are supposed to be cross compatible.Im using a PS3as of now sony has not released the patch for the compatibility. U cant use the GHWT in RockBand..

Not for DVDs, though. I bought a game in Japan and I can't play it because, yep, it's region locked. I really really want to play this game or else it would have been a waste of money. So what do I do? Purchase SwapMagic kit or install a modchip. You'd have to either mod the system, or get someone else to. The PS2 wasn't meant to be "unlocked" as far as just going in to the system and doing it yourself.

well im planning on getting a Hi-Def Tv for my room. I have a Sound sorround DVD, and my playstation 3, i was wondering what you would recomend. I'm thinking about buying Burnout Paradise off the PSN Store. Is it any good? What game modes does it have? How many cars can you choose from? It's a lot of fun, and for $29.99 it's a great deal. There are races, burning routes, marked man, road rage, stunt run, timed road rules, showtime road rules and 490 online challenges. There are four bikes and over 80 cars available. I don't usually like racing games, but this one is really good. The burnout paradise is great...

Which system is better help?

i got xbox 360 but i got E74,so i was thinking if i should trade it in for a PS3 and mgs4,or keep it for fable 2 and gow 2... Alright, before I start my answer I just want everyone to know.
Yes I do have a PS3, but I'm not just giving this answer because I have one, so don't call me a fanboy, what I write is facts... not opinions...
The PS3 is a better console in the hardware region.
Features like: Blu-ray, Bluetooth, Wifi, Expandable HDD, and many more.
The 360 lacks in this department because of many reasons:
Hard drives made specific for 360 means THEY control how much memory you can get. Wifi adapter needed, DVD (last gen technology), old wireless for controller, etc.
The PS3 can proudly say it's a "next generation" system, while the 360 is just an upgrade of the previous Xbox. No real good features where added on to it.
Now that is the SYSTEM, games wise, that's all personal preference. The PS3 has a great line up for games this year and next year. And it's been shown many times that PS3 can handle more players online.
Example:
Gears of War - 8 players
Resistance - 40 players
Gears of War 2 - 10 players
Resistance 2 - 60 players
There are many other examples as well. A game coming out next year named MAG (Massive Action Game) will support 256 players! Something that 360 just cannot handle.
The PS3 will have a long lifespan 10 years at the least. Sony always goes for the 10 year goal, and they will meet and most likely exceed it.
Blu-ray won the format war, and is making games like Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, and other games to be possible on PS3 and ONLY the PS3.
Blu-ray: 25GB Single Layer - 50GB Dual Layer

and i DIDNT preorder it. Oct. 27th is when it releases. I dont know if Walmart will have because at my Walmart they dont even have anything. Everything is sold out. I suggest you go to a gamestop near you if you have or eb games because they have the games on release date. There might be a line though.
If you dont have a gamestop near you I guess you can try Best Buy FIRST then if Best Buy doesnt have it go to Wal Mart. The game "Little BigPlanet" releases on the 28th not the 27th Report Abuse yeah you can go but it isn't guranteed to have a copy there on a rack i think gamestop is selling them right now... i would call the nearest gamestop if i were you... October 28 is the release date

What is the best way to level up? I'm a lvl 5 Medic and Waffleman over here is lvl 58.... Make as much kills revive people and start playing competitive modes they will help you. I was in a game and I was ranked 60 and I worked my way down to 21 so yea its gonna teach you how to use the guns. And how to become a better medic. Also to lvl up easier make sure you get up to a good point where u should die. I got up all the way then died. So close. Its hard.
And when you're playing cooperative make kills and before you start playing make sure that there are 8 people playing. That will also make it easier. And it doesnt matter about the lvls. You just need to learn how to use the gun your wielding. When Im using Specialist and the Chimera with the shields are near me I just hide, wait till the shields go down and start snipe shooting. It's a really god weapon which will protect me. And the medics there always revive me so I can keep firing. Make some distance. Get too close and your all dead.

Scroll down to see the chart. The 160GB PS3 seems to be missing too many features. So the only thing good about it is it has more harddrive space? lol, didn't I give you that link in the last question? But anways, yea, the 160GB sucks, its just the 40GB insides with a hard drive 4 times its size. The 80GB with backwards capability is better if you want to play PS2 games, but if you just want to play PS3 games and want to save a bunch of music, video's, and/or pics then you can get the 160GB. But yet Y spend that much and you can get the MGS4 bundle for the same price and to get more space buy a portiable hard drive (I have 500GB) and save your stuff on there, and take it around and plug it into other people PS3's, or into PC and get stuff off of there and put into your PS3 later. So personally, I say get the 80GB that has backwards capability and get a portiable hard drive to save you all the trouble. O yea it doesn't have card readers, forgot to add that 2. And Pain comes with the 80GB in the MGS4 bundle, you have to download off a Blu-Ray Disc its the same thing as the 80 GIG. unless you got the first 80 gig ps3 that came out long time ago with backwards compatibility. but the new 80 gig ps3 that is $399 is the exactly the same as the 160 Gig except the hard drive space. it still has no backwards compatibility, and only 2 USB ports. oh and the 160 gig ps3 comes with a dual shock 3 controller, and uncharted drakes fortune and pain.(i have no idea what pain) and the 80 gig ps3 only comes with a controller. i know this because it was in a gameinformer magazine. trust me No all the ps3 suck.

Will there be new features on the ps3 bioshock ?
May be...
on the ps3 version of bioshock will there be new features such as more plasmids or more big daddies and new kinds of splicers The only new feature for the PS3 version is a new difficulty mode ( "Survivor" mode) for the game
There's also supposedly some downloadable content not available for the Xbox 360 version of the game
Other than that, the game is the same, the graphics haven't been majorly improved or otherwise There's an added Super Hard mode and there will be some DLC not offered for the 360 version, but other than that it's a pretty straight forward port. Graphics a bit better and they say the PS3 version is a bit better with more added content that you can purchase later. it is basically the same game but with a new survivor diffuculty and upcoming challenge rooms

Well it just does not work anymore since an hour ago when my sister plugged in the vacuum in the same outlet as the ps2 it just well shut off..? I don't smell anything burnt...
What do you think? Take it to a game store, have them plug in your console with their AC adapter, then try having them plug in their system with your AC adapter. You should check the breaker box. Just plugging in the vacuum to the same outlet would not harm your PS2. You could try plugging it in in a different room also to see if it still will not turn on.

I know that the GTA IV Trophy Support Patch is coming this Monday. When I get my first trophy, do I have to save my game? Or does the trophy automatically saves in my Trophy Collection List? If I do save, and I delete my save, does the trophy disappear from my list? I want to save some hard drive space. And if I delete my save game, and load my old saved game, will I still be able to do the mission and get my trophy? Do you know how trophies work? trophies are saved to your account not to the saved games

Is Playstation Home available yet?
May be...
I keep getting these e-mails saying they have created new living spaces for it but i cant find it when i go on. It has not been released to the public yet. They are still in a closed beta test, with only a few selected users.
According to Sony, they promise to make Home available to everybody this fall or end of 2008. However, Sony promised release dates for Home too often and didn't keep the date.
So take this release date with a grain of salt. The final version isn't out yet. Sony expanded Beta by sending invitiations, but that's it. No official statements from Sony on the exact release date. There are only some strong rumors mentioning November as a release month. But these are only rumors...

Will guitar hero 3 controller work with rock band 2 on the ps3?

Rock Band 1 had a patch released on Sept. 11, 2008 that allowed the Wireless Les Paul included with Guitar Hero 3 for the Playstation 3 to work with the game. The patch also included the tool to allow you to copy your RB1 songs to the hard drive so you could play them in RB2. So I know for a fact the PS3 GH Les Paul works with RB1. I'm almost certain that the guitar will work with RB2 as well but I haven't personally tried it. I'm not sure what the reasoning would be behind releasing a patch for RB1 to work with the GH guitar and not including support in RB2 and that's why I assume it works in RB2 as well. yes it will...at ign.com on the playstation podcast (called beyond) they were saying the develpers are making it so you can choose for yourself which guitar to use if you have them both yes it should work

Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence..?

Is this game worth getting? I haven't played the original MGS3, I heard that the camera angles are much better in Subsistence..

very much worth the money, u'll be happy, imo. Susbsistence is a two disc set. The first disc has Snake Eater with the new camera system. The second disc has the original Mtal Gear Online on it, but the servers are closed so it's worthless. However, the first two games in the series are also on the second disc. The MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are worth the the price of Subsistence alone. I highly recommend picking it up. The game itself is better than MGS4 except for graphics. But the graphics is actually very good for a PS2.
Yeah, get it.

No spoilers because I'm getting it too. The graphics are great and the engine is pretty smooth. I didn't play farcry 1 so the story line is a little confusing so far and I'm not completely sure what's going on. As for the online, there is online multiplayer and there's 4 game modes:
Deathmatch
Team Deathmatch
Capture the Diamond - a slight variation of the standard Capture the Flag
Uprising - Each team has a captain who must capture points across the map, with the assistance of his teammates. Once all points have been captured, the opposing captain must be assassinated to win the round.
As well as six unique classes:
Commando - "Mid-range assault class. Effective at fire-and-movement tactics."
Sharpshooter - "Long-range specialist. Armed with highly accurate weapons."
Guerrilla - "Short-range class. Specializes in close combat and ambush tactics."
Rebel - "Specialist in explosives and fire. Strong on offense or defense."
Gunner - "Heavy firepower specialist. Highly effective from static firing positions."
Saboteur - "Equipped with silenced weapons. Specializes in stealth tactics."
I haven't gotten into the multiplayer too much but it looks great thus far.
Actually the graphics are good, however some screen tearing and some of the characters look a little bland
however gameplay is great, the story is amazing...the amount of ways you can approach an enemy is great, ull replay it.
online is decent, lags alot, but i'm sure that will be fixed in an update at some point.
it's the best far cry to date, on any system.

I'm getting it soon Got it last night. Looks to be pretty good. The only thing I don't like is that the control for aim and shoot are L1 and R1. Don't know why they set it that way, but I'm gonna change that tonight if I can i don't have it but i am getting it after bioshock and it got a 8.8 on ign review so it should be good

T Yes, you are correct, it is overheated, although this can only happen if you didnt give your ps3 space to "breath". You should give it 4 inches of space on each side...and trust me it will never overheat. Also, if you corripted something in your harddrive, this will cause the laser use more power than normal and overheat your system. Those are the only two ways you could have overheated your system. For now, YOU HAVE TO CALL SONY, you cant fix this problem on your own....call sony n they will send you a box to put ur ps3 in and send it to them. They will fix everything but you will lose all of your daa on your hardrive.

Next I could see Metal Gear solid 4. Overall this is the greatest game I've ever played. the only reason why its not the first is because if you really havent played the previous metal gears in the series, then it wouldnt be as exciting. I'd suggest you researching on whats happening so far before you play this game. Things would make alot more sense if you do. Really awesome gameplay. Short and bittersweet. (sweet because it is epic overall, bitter because.. I dont want to spoil the ending )

Call Of Duty 4
Though its probably mainly used for the online multiplayer gameplay. The single player is considered short. The realism is great. Makes you feel like you're actually doing the missions
Grand Theft Auto 4 Is a great game . I'd say its pretty short though it probably takes about 12-36 hours to complete depending on how well you do throughout the missions. Fun storyline. As all the other GTA's are, exciting gameplay
Lastly I'd put out there is Soul Calibur 4. If you are looking for a game for just playing for 10-20 minutes then off to work or so, this is the game that would fit those needs. I personally play it before I go off to school. Finish a storyline / improve my button pressing skills. If you are considering this short but always fun to play, this is the game for you.

PixelJunk Eden seemd pretty wierd, and if i was in the mood im sure icoudl find it highly enjoyable.
I got SSHD cos it was one of the first Trophy supporting games, and it is pretty frantic action, im kinda crap at it though, even on Easy.
Linger in the Shadows is meanto t be a wierd little game/toy thats meant to be wotht downloading( its priced pretty cheap) but ive not tested it out yet, no idea what it is jsut it's mena to be very wierd.
I want Fat Princess, ive heard very little of it since its annoucnemtn at E3, i hope that feminist group has managed to cancel it ( its not like Sony are in the habit of stopping games if it offends a few folks *coughLBPcough*)

Grand Theft Auto 4 Is a great game . I'd say its pretty short though it probably takes about 12-36 hours to complete depending on how well you do throughout the missions. Fun storyline. As all the other GTA's are, exciting gameplay
Lastly I'd put out there is Soul Calibur 4. If you are looking for a game for just playing for 10-20 minutes then off to work or so, this is the game that would fit those needs. I personally play it before I go off to school. Finish a storyline / improve my button pressing skills. If you are considering this short but always fun to play, this is the game for you.

PixelJunk Eden seemd pretty wierd, and if i was in the mood im sure icoudl find it highly enjoyable.
I got SSHD cos it was one of the first Trophy supporting games, and it is pretty frantic action, im kinda crap at it though, even on Easy.
Linger in the Shadows is meanto t be a wierd little game/toy thats meant to be wotht downloading( its priced pretty cheap) but ive not tested it out yet, no idea what it is jsut it's mena to be very wierd.
I want Fat Princess, ive heard very little of it since its annoucnemtn at E3, i hope that feminist group has managed to cancel it ( its not like Sony are in the habit of stopping games if it offends a few folks *coughLBPcough*)

Different game HDD storage?

Why do some games, such as Metal Gear Solid 4, take up over 4gb of space on my PS3 hard drive, yet other games, such as Call of Duty 4, take up only 10mb? I know Call of Duty has a much shorter offline story mode, but even so, why would MGS4 take up over 400x as much space? Those are just examples - Virtua Tennis 3 only takes up less than 2734kb!!! it all depends on the contents and features of the game. For one, MGS4 has so many long cut scenes (the movie parts) and COD4 have very short ones only. The "movie" parts take a lot of space. The other reason is the graphics quality. Higher graphic resolution takes up a lot of HD space also. This is the main reason for having a hard drive in PS3 console. Simply put, that's how they decided. They decided it would be better to put 4GB of data into the HDD to lessen the load times. That's just it. No other stuff is needed explanation. the graphics and physics engine of metal gear solid is outstanding and look how long it took to make

Anyone tell me what's wrong with my TV or is it my PS3?

I just bought a PS3 in May of this year, and I just moved in back to my dorm in Septmber. The TV is new and everything, and lately everytime I turn my PS3 on, the video and audio work, but my TV acts like I put in the input/output cables in wrong. I'm using the cables that the PS3 came with, and my TV is just a standard TV, and what it does is it gives a weird noise, and there are lines that come up from the bottom of my TV. It isn't very bad, but bad enough to distract me from gameplay. Do I need like a new input/output cord or is it the TV? Make sure you have the cords connected correctly and make sure your display settings on the PS3 are not trying to output with a format that your TV does not accept. If all else fails, try another set of cords. Maybe it's the cable or a shortist on the line. If I were you, I would ask one of the cable guys and see what they say about that. why dont you try using the hdmi cable instead. it sounds like a cable or two might actually be touching each other. depending on how much power or frecuency is being run through those cables, if they touch, that can happen try it on a different TV, if it still does it you need a new cord, if not you need a new tv try using a different cable i'd say it might just be the i/o cord thats all...

Okay i'm supper pissed because i was going through the game without killing anyone and at the end of act 2, to my surprise I killed 1 enemy.
So i was at the part where your on top of drebbins vehicle. and i shot 2 tanks. But only 1 caught on fire and exploaded. would this have counted as a kill? Most times when you get a kill in act two it's because you either got one of the guys in the power suits or you shot an explosive barrel and took out one of the PMCs in the very beginning of the Drebin chase. If you save after each level, you can go to the main menu and load the act 2 mission briefing and you'll get your stats scrolling across the screen. here you can check to make sure you didn't kill anyone. I tried to do a No kill run several times but i always ended up killing one person in Act 4... Now im doing a killing Spree run killing everyone I see... No, the APC's don't count as kills. Were you shooting one, and you accidently shot a PMC standing in front of him? Or did you knife one on Dreblin's APC? Hmm Yes I Have Done This Before And Then I Was Told That There Was Someone Hiding Behind The Tank So When You Blew It Up You Probs Killed Him (Y)

Some of the mod chips require a second chip to prevent burning out the laser, and they all require soldering to the boards. Swap Magic is a safer choice for most people. There's no soldering involved and it won't void your warranty.

ok short and simple...my ps3 shuts off out of nowhere...at first i thot it shuts off wen u play it to much wich my dad does but then it started happening to me like 10 mins after i turn on muh ps3...like ill be playing or watching a movie or somthing and it will just shut off...tyhen i thot it was the power but the lamp and other electronic things in my room are still on..plus the ps3 little red light is blinking and it makes 3 beeps...i have no clue y it does that and just recently i downloaded the littlebigplanet trailer of the PSN.. and i clicked on it t watch...and not even half way through it does it...then i try again...and it does it again but sooner in the vid..do i feel the ps3 to see if its hot..(idk if thats even a way to check..thats just how everyone has done it since ps1) and it wasnt hot...so i keep trying..and it keeps shutting off sooner in the vid...then i try one last time...and i dont play the vid...and it stays on....then right wen i click the vid after like 20 mins...it shuts ff as if it was waiting for me to do that....so yah i just shut it off and am now waiting...for it to cool down...i guess...plz if this is happening to anyone plz help and tell me how to fix it or slow it down... Sounds like its overheating, Make sure U dont cover the air vents on the right and I keep mine standing on its left side(thers little rubber pads look carefully) that way heat escapes easily. Sounds like a hardware issue. Kinda like the xbox360's. i would most definitely send it in. but thats what the 360s did and im betting thats what it is. Is it overheating? Make sure it has 10cm gap around for proper ventilation. Put it in horizontal position. If it's not overheating - contact Sony. Is your ps3 hot? It shuts off after it reaches a critical temperature. Call SONY, they are the pros.

plzz help me decide yes. I would recommend at least 40 gig if you dont mind paying extra $50. One option would be to buy 20 gig version and replace hard drive with an 80 gig. You would spend $400 for an 80 gig instead of $350 for 20 gig. You should be able to get an 80 gig from newegg for $50. It depends. Do you plan on connecting wirelessly? If you do, the answer is no, the 20GB is the only model that does not have wifi. Do you plan on playing PS2 games? The 20GB has both the CPU and GPU from the PS2 which means you can play the entire PS2 library. None of the new models have backwards compatibility, and the 80GB model that came in the Motor Storm and MGS4 bundles uses software emulation so they can only play about 85% of PS2 games. Not everyone needs a big hard drive, especially if you're only going to play games on it, but if you start downloading movies and tv shows, you'll probably want a bigger hard drive. I've got a 250GB hdd with only 94 GB left.
Tell the person selling it you'll give them $300 and see if they take it. If not make them meet you in the middle at $325. Ummm, close call. The Brand New 80GB is ony $49.99 more..

To me, what it comes down to is this - do you need to be able to play PS2 games? If yes, get the 20GB, and try to knock 'em down a few $$, or try to find a 60GB. For an extra $50 bucks you get an extra 60GB and WI-FI. the 20gb is a piece of crap compared to the other models

Tell the person selling it you'll give them $300 and see if they take it. If not make them meet you in the middle at $325.
Pros for 20GB - PS2 compatibilty, 4 USB Ports.
Cons for 20GB - No built in WiFi, would need a new HDD (20GB too small)
Pros for 80GB - Brand New (warranty), larger HD space, Built in WiFi
Cons for 80GB - No PS2 compatibility, 2 USB ports.
To me, what it comes down to is this - do you need to be able to play PS2 games? If yes, get the 20GB, and try to knock 'em down a few $$, or try to find a 60GB. If PS2 compatibility is not a concern, I would go new 80GB all the way.
EDIT: and it's brand new with a warranty. the person selling you the ps3 obviously is trying to either rip you off or has no clue on pricing a used ps3

I'm thinking of putting Linux's Ubuntu on my PS3... but if i get bored or sick of Ubuntu is it possible to get my PS3 operating system back on it? You never delete the PS3's original OS (XMB). The XMB is always there, and you can go back to it at anytime. You can't even boot PS3 games from Linux, so removing the XMB would basically make your PS3 useless.
When you install Linux you have to make a hard drive partition. One partition is for the PS3's XMB, and the smaller partition is for Linux. A simple Linux command will change the boot flag back to the XMB, and you can select to boot to "Other OS" in the PS3 settings.
If you get stuck in Linux you can esily reset your PS3 to default settings by holding the power button for about 5 seconds (you should hear 2 beeps) while booting it up. It will automatically go to the PS3 OS. Yes, I don't know how but I saw a video that says if you change it to a supported OS then you can easily change the OS back to XMB. You can probably google it, I'm sure someone else thought of this question before. once u do a new OS then no u wont be able to this is called modding ur ps3 u would have to some how make a back up off ur ps3's Operating system figure that out and u can i havny modded a ps3 yet so i dont no the details on how to but give it a try its ur ps3 Seriously... dont bother downloading it sucks so bad. Its slower than a 120 year old woman crossing the road!

Thanks in advance >:-) Anything involving ROM's, ISO's, and Emulators are always illegal. Some sites say you must delete the file in 24 hours, but nobody ever does.

No. You'd need to have an OS, and at this point is simply Linux. Then you have to find an emulator specifically designed for Linux, so it seems like that's the only way you'll be doing it.

nopely, mainly because PS3 games sre in blu-ray formats. PS2s are standard DVDs. So, there's no way. Now if you are going to ask what if you change your lens to blu-ray reader... just give it up. There is no way. There is simply no mod-chip, add-on or any other method to get PS3 games to play on your PS2. That's because the PS3 uses a Cell processor and Blu-ray for games, both of which are not available for install into a PS2. If you want to play PS3 games you have to buy a PlayStation 3, end of story. No, the ps2 cant support ps3 games, its just impossible.

So yeah...thanks Use a disc resurfacer. The Skip Dr. ones work like a charm. I have the automatic disc resurfacer, works beautifully! Make sure to follow the instructions thoroughly though. You don't want to put any chemicals on your PS3 at all, ever. So yeah...take better care of your equipment. I agree... A Tissue might work? try radio shack they might have sum for it

Dead Space Question For Obsedian Suite???? PS3?

I put on this suite in dead space but now i don't know how to take it off to get the regular one back any can anybody help? You can't take it off. The obsidian suit is a level 5 suit, and the game won't let you downgrade. There's nothing wrong with the Obsidian suit though. It's just has more armor and more inventory slots. It isn't considered cheating, so you still get all the trophies.

Some of it will be. The starter clothes and furniture will. Your custom studio also will. But you have to pay for any additional furniture. I doubt it would be more then about 50 cents per piece. You unlock certain furniture and clothes by playing games and earning trophys. This thing looks amazing. The open beta is released in November! Yeah it will be available in a future update (not the store). yes, except for some clothes and furnatures ya it will be aviable in the play stattion store

The open beta. Will the open beta end? Like, would they take it off about mabe a month after its put up? Cause i dont get a ps3 till mas , but i think home looks amazing!!!! it looks like the old cokestudios if any of oyu ever played that. It will be up until the real HOME comes out. Because then there is no use of the beta since HOME is free and every one will have it. The open HOME beta starts Nov 19. Since its a beta and it's open too all players its not gonna be out there forever like a demo. Its only a beta. Hopefully the beta will be open until Januar, February, or maybe not even March 2009. Whenever HOME comes out which I am hoping it to be in March the beta wll most likely end.
And yes they are letting us test it to see what we like and then later on they wll fix the bugs. So hopefully you will get a chance to play. Unlike the Little Big Planet beta which was like about 3-4 weeks this one should be longer. So I suggest as soon as you get your PS3 go straight to HOME. The Beta is going to be taken off about 2-3 weeks before the final game's release. The Beta is a nearly finished product but they put it up incase that the game has technical problems.Thats why the SOCOM Beta was critizised by alot of people because of all the Glitches The open beta will be up until the full version is released.

Ps3 hdmi problem.... 10pts ?

Ok i bought an 70 dollar HDMI calble at best buy during the summer the graphics look great and i love it.
the problem is that when i play a movie it looks pinkish, the resolution every thing looks pink you can see he movie or show but it looks pink..
why is this?
is it the Tv? or Hdmi? the hdmi works great but not in movies..
Or do i have to change the settings?
if so what do i change im afraid of messing up the settings.. its the Hdmi ake it back to best buy and they will explain... the same thing hapened to me

I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but I can say an expensive HDMI is no bette than a cheaper one. I've got 3 LCD TVs, and I've used cheap and expensive cables. There's no difference.
I think you should turn the system completely off and remove the hdmi cable and put it back in and if that doesn't work i don't know what to tell you
Oh yeah and reset it or something
and if that doesn't work buy another one for half the price at.....
