I'm trying to connect my bluetooth (LG HBM-560) to my PS3 for a little Call of Duty 4 talk action, but it doesn't seem to be working. I think the problem may be the "pass key". When I hook up my bluetooth to my phone, i've either put 1234 or 0000 in as the pass key..and it's worked. Tried the same on PS3, and it says "registration complete" and that it is indeed connected, but when I go into the game I don't see a "mic" up by my name when I talk (meaning no one can hear me) and I don't hear anything. I think i'm doing something wrong.

Well the laser has died out and so there is no way to fix it without replacing the laser diode which isnt possible only by Sony.

I just got my PS3 and I have an HDTV, but im not planning on buying a HDMI plug yet. Will the graphics be good with the standard plugs and my HDTV. Is that better than using a standard TV.

Once you try the HDMI, you won't want to go back to the standard one (trust me). You can get one on eBay for less than $10, and there won't be a noticeable quality difference between the eBay ones and the ones sold in Best Buy for $100.

No, they are not nearly as good. I played for months and wondered what was wrong with the graphics. Just get the cord for 20-30 bucks, it's worth the investment.

It's a lot better, but if your tv is a plasma, don't do it! Since most HD tvs are plasma, it really kind of sucks, but games can leave streaks on your plasma's screen.

Theyre > PS2 quality, but any 2 player splitscreen games will be crappy.

I highly reccomend that you buy an HDMI cable. You won't be disappointed.

I think it is wii is the best. But i want to warn you you need to get games frequently on it or it will get boring.

For me... it all depends on how long you've had it and what games you have. I personally don't like the ps2 that much, but I have been playing the wii for a very long time. Almost too much. After a while the games get boring.

maybe 10 for the games that came out last year. maybe 5 for the older popular games. to be honest the best way to find out is just to call gamestop and ask if you want to go that route or go to ebay and look at what they are selling for. Everybody here is going to be way off because we don't know where you are planning to sell the mentioned games.

my best advice is to call gamestop/ eb games whatever is in your area. They can tell you how much they are worth to sell , and how much they are willing to give you for in store credit if you want to go that route.

I played NHL 2009 on xbox and I personally din't like it at all.

Both disks use the same amount of space and software. One console doesn't play better than the other....

simple i had the same problem with my ps3 version. So the instruments are all usb for the ps2 just like the ps3. So just plug in your microphone and then plug in a ps2 real controller (one with joysticks and buttons) into the real controller ports. Then press the analog button it should show up

Yeah, it's really fun.

The campaign is longer than Call of Duty 4's but not as long as some games. It's actually quite fun. You can use flame throwers and everything. You can burn enemies out of trees or burn enemies hiding in the grass.



Now, onto the multiplayer. What can I say? It's great.

There's a wide variety of weapons you will unlock as you proceed and there is a lot of perks and attachments for weapons. When you get a 3 Kill Streak (3 kills in a row without dieing) you get to see where every enemy is on your Mini Map. A 5 Kill Streak lets you call in air strike while a 7 Kill Streak lets you send dogs out to kill enemies.

You can also drive tanks online which is really fun. You'll often find that you are running alot to survive too. I know i'll be spending a lot of time on it.



Nazi Zombie Mode

Yep, that's right! Once you finish the campaign you will unlock Nazi Zombie Mode which is where there is a load of waves of Zombies coming into a house and you have to kill as many as possible and you get money each time you take a shot at a zombie which later lets you unlock ammo or weapons while you're doing it.

Your enjoyment is mainly dependent on whether or not you enjoyed Call of Duty 4. From reviews, I have gather the conclusion that it's gameplay shares too much in common with its predecessor. I have gotten entirely bored with the fourth, so I doubt that I will buy the fifth. However, if you still love the fourth, I would imagine that it would be a great buy. It has a new co-op feature, and would last you a very long time. Then again, I haven't tried it.

Call of Duty is great and worth buying if you enjoy first person shooters. HOWEVER, I would highly recommend getting Little Big Planet. It is a ton of fun and is downright addicting... Plus users can create their own levels so you'll always have new levels to play, on top of the fun of making your own.

Yes, the story mode is better and longer than previous games. Also the split screen mode has bigger boards and better camouflage. Another cool feature comes once you beat the game. Its called Nazi Zombies, google it.

Well I had a ps3 before one of the first ones. It had 4 usb slots and all the sd, mini sd,... input slots. Now I got a new one because my old one got smashed on a plane(my fault). And it has 2 usb slots and the card slots that have a little door are just closed or solid like part of the console. Explain please???

You had the old 80GB. Sony discontinued that one and basically took the old 40GB (much less features), and added more memory.

the originals that they first came out with (60 and 20 GB Consoles) had the slots and four USB ports. The newer versions of the consoles only have the two USB ports and no card readers on it (as far as I know.) So as far as I know, the only solution to this is to find an old 60 GB or 20 GB console. Hope I helped.

The New PS3's have 2 USB ports and no card readers. I'm sorry you're out of luck. You may not find the card readers (as far as I know), but you can buy a decent 4-port USB hub for less than $15 on newegg.com

You had a 60gb the model I have which did include the sd memory card slots and more usb slots. You just have less of import slots. But other than that you are not really missing any key features.

If they're in good condition, I would start off at $100. It's a pretty good deal considering that PS2's are $130 now. And you're getting a PS1 with it too which is an added plus. If you can't get them for that,maybe go to about $90. Then $80 and so on.

I have a problem, I can't log into the platstation store or network to make downloads. Yet I can go log onto websites with the browser and see ESPN or Yahoo on my PS3. There are three different memory for the PS3. The 40 GB can only play PS3 Games, but the 80 and 160 GB can play PS3 and PS2 games. I would prefer the PS3 instead of the Xbox 360 Because On the PS3 you don`t have to pay so you can play online. On the Xbox 360 you have to pay for Xbox Live. Also on the PS3 you can surf on the internet using wifi and it has Blu-Ray DVD Player installed. But the Xbox 360 is cheaper than the PS3.

only the very old 80gig ps3 with the emotion engine chip in them will play ps2 games. i don't think there are any more that will be made that way, you would have to find an old one used somewhere. the ps3 plays blu rays and the 360 doesn't. i bought a ps3 about 2 years after i bought my 360 and i said i would sell my 360... but i cant talk myself into it cause i still like it too much even though i only play my 360 like once every 2 weeks.



a big thing to is the ps3 comes wi-fi ready! the 360 usb wi-fi network adapter cost $99.99!!!! and you have to pay a monthly fee to use their service ( about 10-15 bucks) after you buy their 100 dollar gadget.



i had to move my 360 in my house and could no longer run off the ethernet cable and my xbox live subscription was expired. i was going to cost me 100 bucks for that stupid thing that should come with the 360 when you buy it!... and another 80 buck or whatever for another one year membership... so i was like F-it... i'm just gonna buy a ps3. either way im not getting off any cheaper than 180 bucks. i might as well spend the extra cash and get a ps3 cause then i can watch blu rays too!

It would definitely work, but the new one you can also use other things like the drums or mic, so buy the set that comes with everything then you can have somebody playing all 4 instruments. And it costs 60 bucks for just the game, 70 some places, and it is probably on sale for about 55.

Well Radioshack had the best black friday deal on a Dualshock 3 for only $30. But wherever you buy your controller, make sure its a DualShock 3, which has a retail price of $55, but can be found most of the time under $50. At worst a Sixaxis, but it doesnt have vibration and shouldn't cost you more than $40 now.

Well, we tried that and it didn't work...The screen is still blank...

I very much doubt that it's permanently damaged. It sounds like your brother accidentally changed the picture quality to one that is not supported at all by the television. If he tried to set up the console using a 720 p picture, then I am assuming he used a high definition chord (HDMI), right? If that's the case, then do the rebooting process like you just read about (because that is the correct way to troubleshoot the console) and then plug the original, standard AV plugs back into the console. That should make it work. If he wasn't using an HDMI cable and he set up the 720 p, then it's more likely that you may have damaged the PlayStation 3 since that's not supposed to be an available option without an HDMI cable. If you can't figure out exactly what to do, try contacting Sony America who will be more than happy to help you with this.

Hm, there's not really more than meets the eye with the PS3.



What you should do:

-Set up a PlayStation Network ID. This is so you can go on the store and download demos, add-ons, and videos.

First, you have to have an optical cable that supports HDTV connection. The composite cables that were issued with it will only support 480p. If you want something more, you're going to have to go out and buy a component or HDMI cable.

Wait! Dont buy a new one! If it's giving you a "Disc Read Error", or DRE as they are commonly known, there is a simple solution. Since you're dealing with a fat PS2, I assume you dont have a warranty to worry about anymore, so depending on which version of fat model you have, there are a couple differences in the placement of the screws for the casing, but it's all relatively the same. Flip the unit upside down, there should be about 4 holes with phillips #1 screws in them, and also the rubber bumpers that the unit sits on, some of those cover screw holes too. You'll have to take the rubber bumpers off. Once all the screws are out (man, it's been a while, but I think theres like, 6 or 8 maybe...) the case will split and come apart. Take it apart, and you'll see the disc reader device with the laser eye. I think this is attached with 2 or 4 tiny little screws, i think I normally used a knife or an eyeglass screwdriver to get these out, so you can access the laser eye. I would give a 95% chance that the eye is dirty. Use some clean alcohol and a couple q-tips, clean that eye, put it all back together and it'll read stuff again. I have had the same fat-body PS2 for like 8 years now and have had to clean the eye probably 4 or 5 times. First time I got a DRE, I freaked out too!

we tried rock band on a slim ps2, we were extremly disappointed toi find out that our ps2 will not read a dual layer disk, they do not tell you this on the box that only certain versions will work, im guessing that gh is the same problem. we took ours back and decided to wait until we get a ps3 or wii or xbox360 to buy it again. i searched the internet for a fix and came up with nothing the only solution is to buy asnother console that you know the game will for with for sure.

Help with solutions for PS3 Wireless Connection Problems?

I have a ps3 and a seperate router (the one that connects my PC to the internet) and my ps3 is a floor below the router. the wireless connection to this router works, but the signal is frustratingly weak. I thought a solution would be to maybe install a wireless router closer to the ps3? if you have any solutions i would greatly appreciate it.

i got a ps3 and i am about to try out home so how is that game

its not friendly, you have to download the rooms. and with that time you just stand in one room doing nothing

its ok it could have been better. I have tested it 3 times one in april 07 one in march of this year and now. I will remind you though its only in beta again. With the latest update to make room for more servers they took out voice chat. This really sucked for me and im not going to really touch it for now because i only liked it in the first place to meet new people by talking. The load times could have been a whole lot better... but the upsides is the graphics are nice and the rooms are pretty cool once they load.



Keep in mind though that this is only the start of home watch for more rooms including trophy rooms in your apartment etc!

Playstation 3 question?

I just got a PS3 (yay)! It's an 80gb. I understand that the 80gb has software emulation and should play PS2 games. Whenever I put a PS2 game in it, it tells me that it isn't compatable. I am running the 2.53 software update. It is playing Playstation, the original, games. Why won't it play PS2 games? I tried Rock Band and GH3. Neither will play. Anybody else having this issue? sadly they stopped giving the ability to play ps2 games, luckily i bought mine before they changed that so i still can. But as the guy says above i guess 60g still can. Have fun gaming!

like 19/20 times, when i reset/fiddle with my consul it says it can't read the disk even though the disk is brand new. I have tried several disks. Also no matter which controler I plug in, it does that annoying thing where it forces the cursor thing to the left and you can't fight it.

the eye (lens) inside your ps2 is most likely dirty. If you know what your doing open the ps2 and with a cotton swab clean the lens.

If its an old one...then most probably the Lens has given up...which is natural with any mechanical device...so you may have to replace the lens which is available on ebay and many other online shopping sites and your PS2 will be running , but you should consult a ps2 repair guy before doing this.

it is like Tomb Raider but it is a guy. You can play people online if you have wi-fi or the internet cord. I play alot of games on my ps3 online so look for starbreaker23. it is a wierd name.

If you like tomb raider I highly recommend Uncharted: Drake's Fortune



Internet is easy. Hook it up to your router. If you are using a wireless router the PS3 comes with one so that's all good. Go to network and setup an account. They guide you through it pretty well. Once set up you can play most games online.

You should get Uncharted Drakes Fortune! It is awesome! It is about a guy in search for the treasure of El Dorado. It plays like a Tomb Raider game but is WAY better! I love this game! The sequel is coming out later this year too and you WILL love this game!

I just bought a copy of Resistance 2. This is my first blu-ray disc. I am buying a PS3 very soon.



What are blu-ray discs supposed to look? Mine is partially see thru and doesn't have a blue hue at all. Is that right?

When looking at the back of the disc, you can see through it and see the artwork on the front side of the disc. That's how a normal PS3 Blu-Ray disc should look like.



It's called Blu-Ray because the laser used is blue, not because the disc is blue.

Eventually I think you should get both, however, the PS3 has more bang for your parents buck and more options for you. With the PS3 you also get a Blu-Ray player, built-in wifi, bluetooth capable, and they do not charge you to game online unlike the XBOX 360, which is 50 bucks a year to game online. I would go with the PS3, you will not be sorry.

It really comes down to which console has the exclusives that you would want to play. For example the xbox has gears of war and halo 3 etc while the playstation 3 has metal gear solid 4, little big planet, uncharted etc. On the hardware side the ps3 has better graphic capabilitys and has a 0.03% failure rate while the xbox 360 used to have a higher failure rate but i believe it has mainly been fixed.

whatever one that you like more i know myself i would never buy an xbox360 so obviously that would leave only the ps3 but if you like the 360 games more then the ps3 games then do that

get an xbox, believe me there better, i hate the pads for PS3, the trigger buttons are too small and not pressure responsive.

Oh boy, the infamous "Disc Read Error" strikes again.

What you could do is send it back to Sony so they can fix it for you, at a cost of course.

Or you could follow this guide I found online. My PS2 would barely read any clean discs, and now it reads CD's (something it hadn't done since 2003). As long as you're not afraid to void your [presumably] expired warranty and you follow every direction down to the letter, you'll be fine. However, it only works on the fat PS2's, so if you're running a slim line (which is doubtful), it won't work for you.

If by not good you mean faulty... or bad like hard to use? Well, I guess you know I got it and I have to say my instruments aren't faulty and the drums are really good! A nice drum kit. Way better than Rock Band's. PLEASE trust me. They're very realistic. I could probably play the real drums better than I could have before. My friend play drums and he said the Rock Band drums feel nothing like real drums.



Anyway at first some of the instruments were faulty but they fixed it and now the new ones aren't bad. I hope you still want it because despite some of the negative reviews it's truly a great game. Plus because all the instruments are compatible you could get Rock Band 2.

A drummer told me the timing on the current drum kit does not reflect what you would expect.

As for the scratches dont worry about it, I use a Car Polisher, something like turtle wax and it makes it just like new. Also go to your eye doctor and ask him for a special cloth to clean glasses. He will give you a lint free cloth, It feels very silky and use that to clean your PS3. I have had my PS3 close to its launch back in 2007, and Mine still looks new, Make sure its not handled alot. I mean it is a console it shouldent be moven much anyways, maybe just from room to room or house to house, but just be careful. And for the heating thing, do not worry about it as long as the PS3 vents are not in a inclosed area. make sure they are in the open and it should be fine.

Well, the newer models of the PS3 are way more power efficient, that means they wont heat up as much.

Since you just got it, it should last way longer and not heat up as much.

I'd say, don't even worry about it. I left mine on all night for a month and nothing happened to it. It still works great.

Sony has always made their products (laptops/desktops) able to resist high heating temperatures. My Sony Vaio laptop was always really hot, but nothing ever happened to it. Im sure the Sony console should be no different. Just make sure you do the fan tests every once in a while. Some people say it's dangerous but I have done them like 4 times and nothing happens.



I'd say don't worry about the heat. It will last, and it wont get the Red Ring of Death like that other console.

Get a cardboard box that's bigger than your PS3.

Cut holes at the side.

Put your PS3 on top of the box and make sure it doesn't fall into the box.

This helps to keep your PS3 a little bit cooler.



Every month, I wipe my PS3 to clean dust and fingerprints and I use a mini vacuum to clean the dust from the vents in the PS3.



Also, when I go to bed, I cover up my PS3 with a jacket so it minimizes the chance of dust getting in the vents.

I would recommend putting your ps3 on a flat, well built surface. also another thing to try is make sure your ps3 is in a well ventilated area. I know you've probably heard these things before but they really will help.

what is rong is that you havent used it in a long time so the reader has dust on it. what i used on my ps3 was compressed air and sprayed it in the disk slot to take the dust off. after you do that it should be working

If that doesn't work, check to see if any normal CDs/DVDs work.

If too much dust accumulates in the PS3's vents (located in the back, under the serial #), it might overheat and freeze up. Look in the vent every once in a while to see if there's dust. Clean it with a vacuum hose. Also, dust the PS3.

2.inFamous looks cool but I mean, I wouldn't pick inFamous over Uncharted 2. I said this to myself. This is why I wont get inFamous. Uncharted 2 will be way better and I have seen games like this. Why am I doubting inFamous, something is not right about this game. I think they should delay it and fix it.



3.No no, remove Ultimate Ninja Storm. It's a fun game yes but since the story was no good and only like 4 cutscenes its not worth it. If it had online good it's worth it, but bad single player with no online, there is no point in getting something like this.



4.MAG is another game. I mean it looks like it could be good, but idk. I'm hoping it is good. I hope MAG is delayed to 2010 because if it is going to be next year it will suck, trust me. pre ordering two games, one will be killzone 2, and other ones im looking hard into are lord of the rings conquest and resident evil 5.



please dont say games that come out late 2009 such as uncharted 2, god of war 3. looking for january-june release titles. ive never played a resident evil game but 5 looks awesome, however i hate games where ammo is so scarce, i also like to get games that will be good at online since theres only but so many times you can complete single player campaign, so i like multiplayer games. i currently play call of duty 4, metal gear solid 4, grand theft auto 4, resistance 2. so im leaning towards lords of the rings conquest due to the multiplayer aspect. just want to hear you guys ideas.

What's wrong with my ps3?

ok today my ps3 is being really weird, i would put in a game and it would say that there was an unknown thing happening, then my game wouldn't work, so i tried cleaning my game disk but no good it said the same thing! and now when i put in a game nothing happen's ( usally it will go to the game or an icon will pop up) so do you think i have to take my ps3 somewhere and get it fixed or is it just dead and i have to get another one, but please i need help with this before christmas!!!!

That happened to my PS3. Call Sony and they will fix that problem or give you a brand new one. But is has to be in warranty. they send you a box and you put your PS3 in it and give it to the post office. it takes about 4-5 days so you might not get it before Christmas. Probably the day after.

Ps3 freeezing up alot ?

ok i got my ps3 like last week,i dint get the year warranty



and some games freeze for like 1 second and then work fine



and today i pressed the ps button and i put quit game and it froze completely and the screen just turned pure black then i could't turn of the ps3 from the power button or the ps button so i had to turn it off from the back switch

That happens to my Ps3. it is cause the system will heat up if you play for a long time. after playing, give the system a hour break. or you can buy a cooling tank for it so you can play for a long time. i played GTAIV for 6 hours one time.

Stand your ps3 on it's side, and use compressed air to blow out the cd slot. and make sure your disc's don't have any schmutz on em or scratches, and you shouldn't have any more problems.

Yeah, it will recover, but maybe not until you reformat the HDD to remove any corrupted data.

You will not lose all online accounts or updates. Updates are stored on the very little internal memory the PS3 has for such use, and online accounts can be restored by logging back into them under the [PlayStation Network] tab of the XMB.

The number one feature is the abiltiy to play MGS4 -- I almost got a PS3 just for that, but I'm glad I didn't. Some people cite Blu Ray as a good reason to get one, but I don't think that's valid.



The whole Home thing is not looking good. If you want to have much more fun, just stick with the 360. If you already have a PS3, right now might be a good time to put it on ebay.

All these games i stated are just off the top of my head and the ones i recommend. Also in the beginning of 09 Sony will start to announce even more games for PS3

The 80GB model with B/C will cost you a lot and your best bet is eBay.

The best place is probably Fry's Electronics. U get the PS3 for regular price but u get extras such as games. Only when its on sale. if you want to find the directions go to frys.com and find the nearest place to u.

My 80 gig ps3 wont play ps2 games...?

I bought a 80 gig ps3 in september and I bought Mortal Kombat Deception, Armaggedon, and Shoalin Monks but neither of them work. The system software is version 2.53. I heard that I can install a firmware but Im not sure how or even what a firmware is..... Can anyone help me?

The reason why you can't play ps2 games on your ps3 is because your ps3 is not backwards compatible. There two types of 80gb ps3 and the new 80gb is not ps2 compatible but the old one is compatible only by software emulation. So you better get yourself a 60gb because that is the only ps3 that has ever feature on it! for all the other ps3:



20gb: No wifi

40gb: No card reader and no ps2

old 80gb: ps2 only by software emulation

new 80gb and 160gb: No card reader and no ps2

Well, if you bought a new 80 gb in september it should read them. I know after the Metal Gear Solid bundle they took out Backwards Compatibility for PS3's to play any ps1/2 games and took out usb ports leaving you with only 2 in the front. If you ps3 only has 2 USB ports in the front, you have the non Backwards Compatible model. All I can say man.

if u bought a bundle with it like motorstorm, mgs4 or somekind of bundle it will play ps2 and ps1 games..

My 60gb ps3 is freezing?

i had my ps3 almost for 2 years[got it in february 07]. now it keeps freezing every time i press the ps button during a game. at first it just froze at the xmb icons loading. now the xmb wont even come up and its just has the spinning loading thing... Also when i quit the game,the screen stays black. what should i do? reformat the hard drive or call sony?

First reformat then if that doesn't work. You are gonna have to pay sony 150 dollars to fix it since you aren't covered by the warranty anymore.

No new MAG news. I think MAG will release in 2010. I mean people are always wrong. It can't be released in 2009. Thats not enough time to create a 256 online game.



Anyways it's not going to be canceled. It's like you're saying Uncharted 2 is going to be canceled and God of War III will be canceled. These games will not be canceled. Also Final Fantasy 13 will most likely be released in 2010.



There is also going to be more Metal Gear Online packs. I love Metal Gear Online. Its fun. Get MGS 4 for christmas man!



In LittleBigPlanet there is going to be new DLC which is a Metal Gear Solid pack. You get a Snake sackboy, a Meryl Sackgirl, and I think a masked guy sackboy. You also get new levels and a paintball Metal Gear gun. So I suggest you get this since it is so awesome!! I mean you're playing MGS 4 but in LBP form.



inFAMOUS will release in spring. No date announced though. The game will have ultmate freedom. You can use different types of attacks and upgrade them. You'll need some of the new powers for certain objectives.



Killzone 2 is releasing February 27, 2009. The online is huge.

32 players online with different specialitys as in Badges. You can choose 2 types of the badges. The first one or primary is the one you'll look as. It's really going to be awesome.



There are some new videos of God of War III. God of War III is scheduled to release next year. There has been a new trailer which looks cool. I wish they had some gameplay videos though.



Insomniac is also working hard as of now too. We can look forward to some Resistance 2 DLC. They might also be working on Resistance 3.

It doesn't really matter, I was just wondering though....



I know when they first released the patch back in July sometime you had to play the games over to earn the trophies...



But then I heard you can get trophies from fallout 3? Which I purchased back in october of this year? And I play call of duty 4 on the daily so I don't see why these aren't showing up?

yeah, i think you gotta start over again to get the trophies, i did the same with fallout3 too, kinda gutted cos i'd done hours worth o gametime :( some games will do it, others wont i'm sure.

On the plus side, you dont have to do the whole intro bit for fallout3 cos it saves it as you leave the vault, where upon reload, you can change your GOAT settings and suchlike before wandering off!!!

Call of Duty 4 doesn't have trophies because the game came out before the trophies came out and there is no need for trophies in that game.



Fallout 3 trophies have not been released yet, but there is a patch coming soon for them and also pretty much all ps3 games that are coming out now have trophies. In 2009 all ps3 will be having trophies.

You gotta earn them.

99% of USB keyboards whether wired or wireless will work.

and 90% of Bluetooth keyboards ( the Apple one is meant to be pretty good, though expensive) will work too.

Hardly any keyboard's have a "Works with PS3" so don't work off that, and in any case these keyboard's will charge you more even though any will do.

The only way to know for sure is to look on the box to see if it is PS3 compatible. Lots of bluetooth keyboards will have this on the box. You can also shoot the manufacturer an email.

any wireless keyboard and mouse should work with a ps3 you just have to plug the usb receivers into your ps3 and it should work

It it is usb or bluetooth than it will be compatible with your PS3.

i really need to know which 80gb ps3 is better because Im deciding what to buy for X Mas and I found out that the old 80gb had almost the same features as the original 60gb ps3 but the new 80gb ps3 that came out doesnt have a built in flash drive reader, no backward compatability or 4 slots of usb for controllers, please tell me which one is better and where to buy a mgs4 brand new BESIDES ebay.

i would go with a brand new one and i would also get a few years of warranty.



the fact is that the old 60 and 80gb ps3 are known for there len failure.

fact you can use a flash drive that has a built in card reader and you will never need more.

The Metal Gear Solid 80gig version of the PS3 has a number of different features that the newer ones. It has 4 USB ports and some Smart Card readers, which you probably will not need.



On the other hand it is the LAST PS3 model that is compatible with the PS2. All future PS3's will not be able to play PS2 games.



As for finding it new, call around, a local store MIGHT have one or two still in stock.

If you buy the mgs4 bundle you should remember it will cost more but if you aren't worried about the price then you should definetely get the msg4 bundle because the systems runs quieter and it has slighly more space.

Ebay, might have brand new ones still, so your out of luck if you dont want to get one there. Ether way the new 80gb PS3 still rocks, i got it and I Love it.

MGS4 Bundle is better. You can't find the MGS4 Bundle anymore other than ebay, amazon and craigslist.

fallout 3 doesn't have AMAZING graphics but it's crazy kick a** fun, pretty good graphics, and you can play it in either 3rd or 1st person.

Mercenaries 2, but only for all the airstrikes, massive skyscraper/bridges destruction, and the nuclear bunker buster. Then again, maybe its best to rent that game (unless you pay 30 bucks or less for it).

IMO Gears of War is the best 3rd person shooter around, but on PS3 warhawk is kind of cool, maybe try the Darkness, not really a good game but at least it's on 3rd person

MGS4. Top-of-the-top game.

For my ps3. Just got a hd tv...what should i use to connect the ps3 with the tv? Pros and cons of HDMI and other cables?

HDMI will give you the best as you are transfering a digital signal straight from your ps3 to your tv. Component cables do give you hd, but the signal has to be converted from digital to analog and back again.



buy an hdmi cable offline from a site like newegg.com, you might want to buy your games there too, that's what i do. you can get a hdmi cable for under 10 bucks. Dont be fooled by pricing, all hdmi cables work the same.

Is it the PS2 or the disk? I just got my ps 2 for my birthday on tuesday December 2 My other games work fine its jus Harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban that doesn't load.

thats normal, and while it loads u might hear clicking noises thats normal as well. Any ps2 game that has decent graphics tend to take a while to load.



if it takes over 2 mins or so, check to see if there are scratches on the disc, or if theres dirt wipe it clean and try again.

That means you've got an Asian version. My PS2 was like that. There is no way to change it on PS2 or PS3.

Light blinking on ps3?what u think!?

The green light on my PlayStation 3 was blinking right after i quit a game,the screen on my tv went black and i couldn't turn off my ps3.

why did it do this blinking green light and the ps3 froze???

That happens sometimes. Don't worry about it. As long as you don't see the yellow light of death it's ok. A flashing red light means the system is overheated. The blinking green light happens to me when I turn off my system as the yellow LED (HDD light) is flashing. Make sure you quit a game and give the light time to stop flashing before you shut down your system.
